Store is understaffed; wait times are long, and the reservation system is basically worthless because they're constantly booked. Spectrum's robo-operator is pretty dumb: I wanted to exchange my router, and it told me to "turn it off and on again." Why four stars? One employee at this store was truly wonderful. Dana was very friendly and got me in and out very quickly with no headache. The new router and modem literally quadrupled the throughput of my WiFi signal. I wish that everyone could have the experience I had; I had to walk in just as they opened their doors on a Sunday to get helped so quickly. I was a loyal Spectrum customer for 15 years, and never missed or was late on a payment. After Spectrum raised my rate from $55 to $75/month -- a huge increase-- I switched to a new fiber optic service that charges just $49.50/month and promised they would not raise their rates past that. I cancelled Spectrum the same day the new fiber line went live and mailed Spectrum back their equipment as they requested. It happened that I cancelled one day into my new Spectrum billing cycle. Despite this they billed me $75 in advance for a full month of their service that I did not have. Since I believe in paying for service that I use, but not for service I don't have and don't use, I pro-rated the amount I owed Spectrum for the single day of their service that I used in the new billing cycle, and sent them a check for $2.50 to cover that day with a letter asking them to please waive the charge for the balance of the month in which I didn't have their service or equipment. Spectrum refused to negotiate a fair resolution to the situation and said they'd send the balance they believe is due to collections. I urge people to find a different company. Spectrum is way too greedy and unreasonable. read more

I went on my lunchbreak in the middle of the week. When I walked in, there were four employees present - two engaged flagrante delicto in some high-pressure commission sales, and two standing around with their arms crossed chatting. Most of the registers were unmanned and there were approximately 35 people waiting for help. I signed into the kiosk, and after an hour, turned around and left. When I went online to see about setting up a reservation, I noticed that there wasn't an opening until 6:30PM. I would have been standing there for hours. I have been with Spectrum for almost 7 years. recently I was upgraded to their xumo. today I attempted to contact them but the robot just kept asking me more questions so I couldn't get through to a real person who may be able to answer a question that a robot can't even understand. my TV keeps cutting out every few minutes on the certain channels. We have had connectivity problem for a very long time, I have to "reboot" the router and modem at least once a month, and have lost count of the equipment changes they have done. So now we wanted to turn in our equipment, and you guessed it, I was #12 . I do not leave my 78 year old hubby in a wheelchair for long. So I made a reservation today. The clerk did nothing but argue with me, and wondered why my husband was not the one turning it in as he was the primary. Following my mother's death, my half-brother unlawfully took control of the Spectrum account and transferred both my phone number and my deceased mother's phone number to mobile devices in his possession. This transfer occurred without my consent and involved the illegal use of my deceased mother's credit card to purchase a new mobile device after her death. After spending countless hours on the phone with Spectrum customer service without resolution, I went in person to the Spectrum store in Grand Junction, Colorado, where I worked directly with Lori, the store manager, and her colleague. During multiple in-store visits totaling several hours over two days, I presented extensive documentation, including: The will naming me executor My government-issued ID My iPhone displaying my name and phone number My mother's physical phone showing her name and phone number My mother's physical credit card that had been used fraudulently Documentation from the cremation provider confirming my mother's death A police report filed for identity theft Despite reviewing all of this information, store management repeatedly stated they were unable to assist. The store manager explicitly told me she would help me, which led me to incur hotel expenses in order to return the following day. After an additional four hours in the store, I was told there was "nothing that could be done." No escalation path was offered. No guidance was provided regarding recovery of my stolen phone number. No steps were explained for resolving fraud involving a deceased account holder, even after reviewing a police report. Spectrum's handling of this situation demonstrates a severe breakdown in internal controls, estate-handling procedures, and fraud response. ABSOLUTELY NO COOPERATION or reimbursement for service terminated too late. I cancelled TV service 4 days into the new billing period, and they said "too bad, you have to pay for the whole period, even though you stopped TV service." One more complaint against Spectrum. We cancelled our internet service with them two days into the next billing period because their bill was deceitful about when the period ended. They had an autopay set up before that, but they didn't charge it. Six weeks later, we started getting overdue bill letters. We had to pay $79.95 for the month of service that we didn't use at all, just because we didn't CALL to cancel until two days in. Our cutover happened almost a week prior. No proration, no write-off because we didn't receive the service, just 'I'm sorry.' I'M sorry we ever did business with such an unethical company. Won't make that mistake again. read more

We recently moved to Grand Junction and needed internet service. Spectrum was recommended by our rental agent. First it was difficult getting things set up. A technician had to come fix our box. Then there were numerous times I needed technical help. On one of those calls I ended up in the sales promotion department again. That rep badgered me into signing up for a "land line" that would reduce my total bill by $5.00. I just got my bill. It went up by $15.00 plus the one time charge to hook up. So I called Spectrum to complain and ask that the "land line" be removed. That shot my bill up by $30! What a bogus company. Watch your statements closely. I sent a phone back, they charged me for three lines one month, then charged me for two lines for 6 months after that. I only have one line. Their "policy" is to only refund 2 months. Also, they charge more on their internet every few months and they do not tell you they've changed pricing. read more
