At one point I was asked what I thought was wrong with me, which felt strange since I came in looking for medical guidance as someone who is not a healthcare professional. Because of this experience, I will NOT be returning. I seriously hope Cary receives additional training in patient communication and bedside manner in the future.

I even told the doctor, Daniel Mann, that I suspected pneumonia. He listened to my lungs for less than 10 seconds, dismissed my concerns, and prescribed me an inhaler, steroids, and a cough suppressant--despite the fact that I told him I did not have a cough. When I asked for clarification about my symptoms, the only explanation I was given was "it's probably a cold." When I asked if he could say with certainty that it was not pneumonia, he told me yes. I had to push just to get a COVID and flu test, because in my life I've never had a "cold" this severe. To be fair, I understand my visit was close to closing time. However, this was the only urgent care open at the time, and I simply cannot afford an ER visit. I was hoping for thorough care and reassurance, but instead left feeling dismissed and confused. Over the following week, my symptoms did not improve and actually got worse, especially the difficulty breathing. I ended up going to a different urgent care for a second opinion, where they performed a chest X-ray and confirmed I do in fact have pneumonia. That means I spent an entire week untreated, walking around contagious, exposing my baby brother and my best friend who has severe asthma and lung issues. This misdiagnosis and dismissal could have had serious consequences for me and the people around me. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of thoroughness and the disregard for my symptoms, and I would strongly caution others about the level of care provided here.

The doctor insinuating that there was a reason behind why she was pushing for an antibiotic when she has an active infection on her tonsils. The doctor pushed her to do a strep and mono test, which we knew would be negative, and they were, but it just makes $ for everyone. And let her leave with nothing to treat her active infection and in tears as she has finals this week and is 2 hours from home. Don't go here unless you want needless tests performed and to be treated inferior.

So I made an appointment and am kicking off this year with just a check in and check up so I can Yelp away. Facility is located close to the expressway M6, and has a large parking lot. When I turned in it looked like I was going back to a neighborhood but the driveway to enter into the parking lot was large and marked so it became clear where I needed to go. Came in through automatic opening and closing doors to a well run operation. The facility was clean, well lit and lots of open areas to sit if needed. You are stopped by a security officer who helps direct you. Very professional and kind. If you are coming for urgent care go straight back. They check you in there. If not there is a kiosk to log into then into the elevator or steps to the top floor. There are restrooms there if you need them. I was greeted and checked in again to verify I was in the correct place. The wait was not long for my appointment. I was taken back by a nurse into a private room. It was clean, well lit and quite. The nurse went over some basics and then the Doctor arrived. He was very proud, knowledgeable, and thorough in his questions. I was comfortable speaking with him openly and reviewing my 2025 health goals. Overall the experience was pleasant, the staff friendly and professional. I applied the promptness and follow up through their app. There was good communication the whole way though.

I explained I was in excruciating pain and they said since it's viral and they can't give antibiotics and I told them it didn't seem viral anymore. On the 19th I went back in even more pain and they said they couldn't do anything for me. They did strep and Covid test to which the others came back negative but I still had this lump on my tonsil that was larger than the right side. I told them how much it hurt and said I needed something to be done to understand what was going on and was told to just head to the ER if it's that bad. No one there seemed to know what they were doing. I ended up in the hospital 36 hours later with sepsis and now have a 10k hospital bill I have to pay which could have been avoided if I were just given antibiotics or if someone there just dug a little deeper than the surface and did their job correctly. Also overpriced copays if I may add at 85 dollars. They did not take me seriously here and are very unprofessional. Tried to see if I could get any assistance for my bills and they said no. Do not waste your time here and go see a real doctor. This place is a joke.

The pelvic floor Pt is also a great service that helps patients like me learn about our female bodies. I recently had a check up, but had the flu and the office was super flexible and let me switch my appointment to telehealth... arguable the only positive thing to come from Covid in 2020. Overall a 4/5 stars for a doctors office. I do think that their schedules are very full so that is challenging on the scheduling side of things.
