First of all, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I upgraded my phone, and had to return my old device. I was given 30 days to do so. I was in a terrible accident at the same time, and was laid up in the hospital for almost a month trying to recover. When I was finally discharged I saw that I had been charged with the phone I physically could not return. I called and told them my situation, and they basically told me too bad. So I am stuck with an old phone that I have to pay the full balance on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This infuriated me so I canceled my internet service, and went with hunter(waaay better) when I went to return the equipment to where the person on the phone said I could. We purchased into Spectrum for business to run our home based business because we were promised 600mbs download. We have had issues since the start but its gotten worse over time and we frequently have malfunctions with TV programs and security cameras due to poor signal. Today I ran a Speed-test and achieved a dismal range of 124mbps to a high of 207mbps over several tests. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On contacting Spectrum customer service I was told that they dont guarantee 600mbps to WiFi and only do so when plugged in with an Ethernet cable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]No one including the tech who installed our service ever told us this as almost everything we use functions on WiFi.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I complained that our highest speed gained was less than half the speed they promised, I was offered WiFi extenders for $5 per month per extender. When I asked for a tech to come to our home I was told there would be $150 service charge if they did not Find anything. Spectrum is running a Scam. They are selling something they dont truly provide and have thousands of complaints against them for poor speeds and bad customer service. read more

I was returning equipment and the clerk was incredibly rude.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]First he was constantly berating me and then informed me they are not taking cardboard so the box they sent me the parts, which i returned, would have to be take with me to dispose.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then he became belligerent and INSISTANT that i take the box, to the point of almost becoming hostile.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Since he had my account pulled up, i did not trust him so i left after getting his reciept. I saw the dismal score. I kinda regard Yelp as a place people go to express their "pissed-offness". [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only beef I share here is about their staffing of their Customer Stores. Signing in sucks and since some folks urinate and have a smoke more than others, then the store is hopelessly late in providing service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I get the feeling that the "Stores" operate differently and serve themselves more than Spectrum. This is a review of this store and [[HIGHLIGHT]]not their phone or internet service. I just needed to return the cable modem and Wi-Fi router that my aged parents had been using. Much more effort and frustration than needed. I actually tried to set up an appointment online before I came, but spectrum's website does not allow setting up an appointment for equipment return. So I just walked into the store around 3:30 PM on a weekday. The registration kiosk at the entrance didn't work, so I butted in to ask an employee what I should do. Oh just ignore what's on the kiosk, he said, and just hit check in. (First clue that this is a poorly run business) I told him I was just there to return equipment in the hopes I could just leave it there but no, he confirmed I had to get in the queue. I did so and saw that I was at position number 12. After waiting 30 minutes, I managed to move up to position number 11! However, I heard another employee tell someone else who came in that they could just return equipment at UPS! Was this information online?? No ! Did the first employee I talked to mention this? No!. Luckily UPS saved the day and wasn't far away. As icing on the cake, as my equipment was being checked in at UPS, the agent there said "we suggested they put a sign up at the door, letting people know they could do this, but I guess they weren't interested". Buyer beware! I was cold-called last December 2022 by a Spectrum salesman and he asked if I wanted to purchase the use of a multitude of channels. I said no. He persisted in trying to persuade me. And I repeated no. For the next three months I was very ill and I wasn't monitoring my bills closely. Finally, I contacted them recently to make an inquiry about an exorbitant amount of money being taken out of my credit card by them. this month. So I found out that the salesman had marked me down for the service which he had tried, unsuccessfully, to sell me. I demanded to have my account credited the money back. And when the front line worker refused stating that the company policy was that the mistake had to have been cited no more than 60 days from purchase to qualify for a refund. I then demanded to speak with his supervisor. And so he then handed me over to the "Retention Department ". That person was very nice and completely willing to refund all of the money misappropriated from my account. And he gave me free telephone usage for one year. (Always ask them for a better deal on ALL of your services.) Word of advice: ask the salesman up-font what his name and badge number are. This should keep him/her honest in your transaction. Ask for the Retention Department, initially. Keep asking for your rights to be upheld for correction and restitution if you find yourself in my position. They want to keep your account. But you must get past the frontline worker on the phone to the Retention Department. read more

My phone was seriously cyber attacked. I went to store and asked a gentleman employee before I signed in and he said yes. Knowing what issue was. I signed in and a woman sitting on a chair barely visible called my name. I explained my issue and shared all my financial information etc was screen grabbed. She was quick to let me know she wasn't a service center. Again, barely looking at me. I then asked for a credit to my cable account for a charge for streaming I don't use or know how. She wouldn't credit me or delete. And when I said my service was sketchy, she wanted to charge me $65 for a service call. Given the fact that my entire identity and contacts etc were taken, her concern was not with me. I asked to see my account on her screen as she continued to argue about the charges saying not possible to be there without my approval, she refused to let me see. I left, not quietly. Crooks, liars, and thieves. They lied to me that their cheapest plan would be insufficient. And not just talking me into the more expensive plan, they LIED and said I would be UNABLE to obtain it, and the only option they had was the more expensive plan. Absolutely morally corrupt company, and even with the more expensive plan, I RAN INTO NOTHING BUT ISSUES, so many times the service went out for no reason even when bills were paid! Even with the more expensive plans, expect slow speeds and delays, and just straight up outages regularly! Im in college just trying to pay their RIDICULOUS bill off. I have to choose whether to buy food for the month, or pay off the corrupt company that LIED TO ME. They offer no extensions and no payment plan. But you can't go to anybody else because they have a monopoly on the market! Avoid AT ALL COST. Get a different provider even if the service is slightly more expensive, these crooks have high prices already. And if you MUST go with them, ask for the employees name and "badge number" or whatever term/system they use so they feel more obligated to not scam you and that way they can be held accountable if something like what happened to me happens to you. Seriously, avoid spectrum at all costs, and I could not in good consciousness recommend them whatsoever to ANYBODY. Spectrum company are crooks. I went in to see how I could reduce my bill numerous times and yet when I actually gave up services it would reduce my bill that month than it would go back up the next month! I was with them since 2014! I called to cancel my service and the person I talked to did not cancel it. I go in today to return all my equipment and was told if I was even ONE DAY into the new billing cycle I would be responsible for the full monthly amount! $223.00 that is theft in my book!!!!!!! Worst internet provider that I have dealt with. When I signed up, they offered 300mbps but are delivering consistently 22mbps clear up to 75mbps. Whenever I mention having my bill adjusted to accommodate for the slow, slow, over promised and under delivered internet speed, they change the subject. Service techs have been on site a few times with no resolve. The technical support staff are nice enough, but the deliverables are much less than desirable, reminding me of dial up days.
