My mother moved into a retirement home and we returned all the equipment and canceled their service. We had a refund due to my mother for the equipment and after three months I saw the credit on the bill and was told they would be mailing me a refund bank card. I asked that they send a check since my mother doesn't drive so the card would not do her any good. I was told by customer service that all I would need to do was call the number on the card and they would send a check. Two more months went by and I received the card and called the number and they said they would send a check in my fathers name. His name after all these months has been removed from the account so I couldn't deposit a check. I asked if I sent them a death certificate would they please issue a check in my mothers name. I was told that I would have to go back to Direct TV and request a name change and then wait for another card to be issued and then call again and by then they should have the instructions to issue a check in my mothers name. The frustration of how they handle refunding money that is due to the customer for their convenience is unbelievable. I will never recommend this company to anyone to use.

We…read morefinally pulled the trigger as the snow is gone (the county doesn't plow out to where we live) and ordered Hughesnet from Davis Communications, but Custom Satellite was the installer. We had to give specific mileage markers and posted homemade signs as there are no address or street signs to the cabin. Sheldon, our installer, made it after turned too early onto a snow covered logging road and when he was stopped by a downed redfir thought it might be another road. But alas, he went another 3 miles and found our signs. We couldn't find our compass, so I had to draw up a radial grid to loosely identify the degree we needed for best transmission. Fortunately, we didn't have to fell any trees, which was amazing considering we live in timber. I do wish we had been told ahead of time the degree location for we could have saved 150 bucks to install our own pole, but with the aid of 30 chickens and 2 mutts, Sheldon installed the equipment, having the net up and running within an hour and getting 100% reception. Now my friends don't think I live the Unibomber anymore.

I can highly recommend this service, which is something I couldn't do with any of the other companies I've worked with. We are in the Moscow area and have dealt with several local companies. Custom Satellite will be my first call from this point on if I need help!

    All you need to know is what these Yelp reviews make so painfully obvious. 68 reviews and 52 (now…read more53...) of them are 1 STAR. I've been with them for over 30 yrs and if you don't "bundle" they will screw you as badly as they can. NO MAS! I've had it with these vultures... Now that we have Ziply, AT&T 5G and Starlink these clowns at Spectrum think they can still gouge you... I talked with their "Customer Service" and asked them if they could lower my bill to be at least somewhat competitive. They said they could drop it $5/month. Tried this a number of times in the past and they would drop it $5 but it would go back up in just a couple of months. So disingenuous!... I asked them as a customer for over 30 yrs. if they could help me out. Her response was "being a long standing customer has no impact on what we charge"... then she quickly rephrased it to "it isn't like we don't care about a long term customer... this is just our rate structure" regardless of how long you've been a customer. Now, I have a choice between AT&T (for a 350 Mb stream) or Starlink for about $65 for a somewhat faster one, or wait for Ziply to come to my neighborhood for about $30/month for a gigabit stream. I don't know who runs Spectrum, but whoever it is, has clearly given up on the pedestrian person's support. So... I am almost giddy about finally being able to tell Spectrum to take their service and stick it where the proverbial sun doesn't shine. You've lost a customer for life.

Changes are good in the last 2 years. Pros: + Moved from 80% up time to 99% up time and I only reboot for refresh not out of necessity. + Phone customer service is quick compared to a few years ago and through the "plandemic". + I have the highest contracted speed for my home area and it's plenty fast for all my needs. We are a heavy bandwidth household. Cons: - If you're not intermediate tech savvy, they're scripted solutions for problems can cost you unnecessary time and money. - Buy and use your own equipment! Always split the modem from the router and own both. Their combo free lease equipment solutions are not best. - Cost is high compared to some red state markets but low compared to the gouging in places like Cali.

I have spent 6 hours now and more since my business moved and Century Link was not able to provide service at my new location. They have delayed and refused to cancel my internet service and have fraudulently charged me for the last two months after they finally agreed to cancel my account. I have been disconnected multiple times when being transferred to every "department" imaginable in their customer service department. As I write this I have been on the phone with them and currently as I am recording the call I have been on the line for 1 hour and 58 minutes. This is the 5th time I have had to call them. I am always very pleasant and courteous to the service people I speak with but I am not able to understand why the things they say they are doing when I am on the Line are mysteriously not done when I get yet another bill. I would really advise anyone to not set up automatic payments either since this is how they continue to take my money even though I have tried to cancel these automated payments but have not been able to since now technically my account is inactive. It is a TRAP. I would not recommend this company to my friends, Heck I wouldn't recommend this company to my enemies.
