If I could give them a 0 star review I would. I dealt with Laura twice and both experiences were TERRIBLE. First of all, she gave me the WRONG equipment. I called into customer service and they said to return it to the store, they would put some notes for the store and they would easily just switch it for me. I got to the store mind you with a toddler in tow and Laura has nothing but attitude right from the get go. She was very belittling and openly mocked me in front of others in the store. I have never been treated so poorly in a business. She was so outrageously rude and disrespectful that I had to have my husband come down to deal with her. She even got more intense when I told her that I didn't appreciate her attitude. I can't believe that spectrum would allow someone like this to represent their store and especially working in customer service. She clearly needs a job where she wouldn't be allowed to speak to customers. Maybe janitor? Good luck to all you who may have to deal with her in the future. My heart goes out to you. read more

Whatever you do don't give these people your phone number! They start marketing their services constantly by calling your home and they change their caller id so you don't know its Spectrum tricking you into answering their calls. I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Terrible Internet (in Penelton OR, routed from Walla Walla WA). I'm stuck with them until fiber makes it to my house. Premium prices for poor service... 5/30 for the same price as FiOS 60/60. I had The same problems 20 years ago with Road Runner (now Spectrum/Charter).... almost no internet at peak times. They changed their name, but no change with service. All I want to do now is cancel my tv subscription but imagine!!! I now can't get one of these idiots on the phone! I asked for two things only. Whatever package or what not, I wanted FoxNews and my man wanted to watch sports. Well guess what... No Fox news but plenty of democratic crap tv! And we watched the Seahawks in Spanish Monday night because we don't have ESPN! Now I find out, "Oh! I'm sorry ma'am. They gave you the basic lifetime package. You need to Basic Extended Specialty package." Are you serious???? Because I'm Republican football fan I have to pay an extra $100 a month for your cable??!!! Hell no! The electronic loops you spiral through when calling to ask Charter a question can drive a person bonkers. If your blood pressure wasn't up prior to calling, it is guaranteed to be boiling by the time you reach a live person, if you are indeed lucky enough to have made it that far. Don't bother swearing under your breath at the machine, it doesn't recognize it. The people are nice enough, it's the machine. Charter Business - I moved to Milton Freewater, OR in July 2013, I was able to continue working for my current employer by working remotely. It required me to have a fast uploaded speed and use their business internet service because I need several individual static IP addresses. The internet service with Charter in this area is hit an miss. I have a VOIP phone that connects through my computer, so when the internet goes down, I loose phone connection and drop calls with customers. My current employer was good enough to let me work remotely, this is my lively hood, and is a real concern to me that Charter does not take this serious. One day I was down for 4-hours, that was a 1/2 day, loss of pay for me. Another day I was disconnected 5 times. This is not to mention 4 more drops in my internet connection in January 2014. I have yet to get a hold of a supervisor or anyone that is higher up the food chain; one day I held for 22 minutes for a supervisor and finally hung up. When I have had the local service guys out, they are great, but what they tell me and what I am told when I call tech support is not the same information at all. I would love to see an adjustment on my bill or get a call from Charter to follow up on my concerns about their sketchy internet connections. Very unhappy, Charter customer. If I had other options I would be there, but I don't for the Milton Freewater area. 2/4/2014 - requested a service call to look into internet service disruptions that I have been having. Scheduled between 8 to 10 am. on 2/5 2/5/2014 - got a phone call at 5:41 a.m. telling me that they are at my facility for the service scheduled between 8 and 10 a.m. that they were sorry they missed me. It is now 10:30 a.m. and no one has shown up. I'll bet anything they canceled my service call!!!!!!! I am so frustrated with their customer service.! read more

To be fair, the techs that come to my home and the help that I have received on the phone has been positive. That is the only reason for two stars. I view my monthly payment to Charter as a contract which I fulfill every month by making my payment. Charter does not fulfill their end of the contract. Many times throughout the month my internet is sluggish, comes and goes, or is just completely out. It seems to me that with the way they're able to track their outages, or other internet connection problems, they should prorate me back the amount of money equal to the time I was unable to use my service. Also, my time is valuable. I bill at a hourly rate. I should get to bill Charter for the time I have to spend troubleshooting and taking out of my day to get my Internet fixed, repeatedly. read more

This internet service provider is honestly the worst entity I've come into contact with. The actual agents who conduct maintenance at your residence are fine, and the customer service agents are average... but that's everything about Charter that's not piss-poor. Getting a hold of a customer service agent is almost impossible. The machine will throw you through loops. Finally, one day, I just kept yelling "I want to speak to a representative" and finally the machine put me through after like 5 minutes (which was a record time for speaking to somebody by far). The actual service provided is utter garbage. If you enjoy the fast-paced, relatively reliable service of Comcast, then get ready to throw your happiness out the window along with your computer in frustration because Charter is nothing like Comcast. At my residence in Walla Walla, I lose internet connection for a period of 6-7 hours about once a week. Since I'm a relatively busy college student, this is completely unacceptable. Additionally, they get every possible penny from you to pay for their (lack of) services. If you call them complaining about the internet being down, they'll tell you that it's not their fault and that some other factor is to blame. I've tried ethernet, different routers, different configurations, etc. and all to no avail... the internet service is just plain garbage. One of the reasons I love going home so much is because I know that I'll actually be able to reliably partake in Skype interviews for internships because I don't have to deal with Charter's complete incompetence at providing basic internet service. It's 2015, Charter. Figure it out. Nearly everybody else has figured out how to provide semi-decent internet. Why can't you? read more

Can I give 0 stars? Actually, they owe me stars for hanging with them until I get around to getting satellite. I have lived all over, cable in different areas and satellite in Alaska. This is by far THE WORST CABLE COMPANY EVER!! I have been on the phone with them and had techs to my house so many times I think they must think I'm lonely. I'm not. I have been told by several techs that the problem is the hardware does not support the software. In other words Faulty Equipment. We moved to Walla Walla from Tacoma a couple of years ago. The city was our cable provider, and we were quite happy with both TV and internet access at the same price as Charter here in WW . Unfortunately we are not happy with Charter. TV quality is spotty, with frequent pixilation and sound dropout. Internet is worse, requiring frequent reboots of the Charter provided cable modem. When everything works, its great, but alas, when it doesn't it is horrid. As others have mentioned, the automated phone system for service is truly BAD! Lost phone service and credit card line service for an entire day 3 times in 3 months. Would not recommend!!!!

My father passed away in May, and Charter helped me shift his account to me with few glitches, and the tech did a wonder in my Dad's office (now mine) in setting up my computer, my TV, and my phone. My dad had a huge pile of cables and boxes on the floor behind his computer, but the tech, Jason, swept all that away into a single line that runs behind my desk. I was amazed. My visits to the local office went great each time, so I think Charter is first-rate! read more

people are helpful, when you can get to talk to them, the automated system is horrible, the tv service worse, picture quality and voice lag time(like watching a foriegn dubbed in film with poor graphics, the 29.99 price is only good for one year then it jumps with no warning. communication with the main office is terrible, would give zero stars, but that is not available, go for any different company read more

the local agents aren't bad.. but the phone customer service is terrible. and both internet and TV often have glitches. they change channels often and their layout makes no sense. the prices are way out of line for what you get. and.... they won't give us Portland Trailblazers games.. which their owner owns.. but give us Utah Jazz games.. a division rival.
