Last year, Ana from Speech Launch offered free speech assessments at my kids daycare. We already knew my son needed speech therapy, but was currently in a huge waiting list at another business. Since his first language is Spanish, that usually makes it a little harder to find the right therapist that can help him and frankly we haven't had the best experience in the past. After getting his free assessment Ana suggested to do another more comprehensive test just to get an idea of where he is at. After that, she put together a plan for him and recommended two sessions per week. Please note that parents are encouraged to participate during the sessions. After one month of my kids attending Speech Launch, we've already seen huge improvements in his communication. My favorite thing about working with Ana is how thoughtful she is with all the activities she creates for me son. She makes sure every session has something that will keep him engaged and works with his type of learning. Overall, I am just so thankful to have found Speech Launch and to have someone that I know really cares about my kid and wants the best for him.

Our therapists take a genuine interest in my son and I see it from all the other therapists as well. Our therapists keep us informed and give us advice and tips to incorporate at home. As for the three ladies in the office I can't speak highly enough about them. They are amazing. With so many children that come in for services, they greet each of us by name. They are amazinly patient when it comes to helping us figure out our insurance. They've called our insurance company before when they send in ridiculous denials for a claim. The girls have been so patient with me in helping us process our insurance. I treasure these people and appreciate their level of customer service, professionalism and friendly personalities.

My child is seen for 3 therapies: speech, physical and occupational therapy. The therapists are very friendly, and extremely patient with my son that has a very short attention span. He can be a challenge to keep on task, but he actually does wonderfully for them. He wants to make them proud, and play with them. They find a way to make learning fun. I appreciate all of the support, and progress he has made in just a little over a year. You can tell the therapists love their jobs. My son has made leaps and bounds with them. I cannot express how grateful I am for their services. He has been able to achieve so much more than I was expecting in such a short amount of time. These therapists are really excellent, genuine, and really enjoy what they do. They also helped recognize the need for Occupational Therapy and provided us documentation for Tricare. In 19 years as an active duty Soldier this has been one of the best experiences of healthcare I've received for my family members. With over six months of bringing her here three times a week I have also observed a high level of professionalism of their staff and the care each therapist provided to the kids here both in the waiting room and during therapy. The first time I visited the office with Christiana I carried her in because she couldn't stand or walk after surgery. I have a bad back and they could see the pain it caused me. It was at that point I noticed the love and care from TLC by helping us with a wheelchair and gifting us a shower chair. Although there were other children's therapy closer to Cibolo we decided to continue with TLC because of the excellent first impression and quick rapport they built with my daughter. Christiana has gained so much confidence and her success here has boosted her self-esteem and enriched her mental health (especially during this pandemic). The therapy was challenging but they always introduced fun concepts into the mix both there and with the at home assignments. The snacks and drinks at the end of each session is of course something my child would look forward to the most. We recently visited Pediatric Therapy Associates to do a speech evaluation of our two year old…read more After multiple failed attempts to get an appointment with the free evaluation offered by the government, we decided to just go private and get an evaluation here, since our pediatrician had recommended this place. Our appointment was very close to our boy's naptime and needless to say her was very cranky and not really cooperating. The therapist that helped us was super patient with him and did her best at trying to connect with him and make him feel comfortable. At the end of it all we had a successful evaluation and we got all the answers that we needed. Thankfully we won't have to be coming back here anytime soon, but if we do end up needing therapy in the future, I am very confident they will do an amazing job.

The depressing, dirty, dim lit entrance resembles a scene from American Horror Story and the poor service matches that. The first night my mother was there we called the nurse to help change her bed pan. An hour later no one had arrived and my mother was crying from the pain so I had to remove the overfilled pan while some of her urine splashed on me. When the nurse finally arrived I told her we didn't need her anymore since I did it myself and she rolled her eyes with a deep "UGH" and left the room. The attitude from the staff is astonishing. It's hard enough to have a loved one suffering while you worry about their well being but dealing with unprofessional health care workers who clearly hate their jobs and are constantly annoyed when you ask for help only adds to your stress. The food was also horrendous. When I showed them the pictures of the inedible food they served, they asked ME what it was. The dietician told me that the food was "standard" and when I asked her if she would eat it, she wouldn't respond. When I finally found a wonderful facility for my mother, Sonterra lied about submitting her paperwork which delayed the process. These people are liars who only care about insurance money and would rather drug their patients to stay in bed all day so they don't have to work than actually treat or care for their patients. I've told my mother's doctors to never recommend this facility to anyone and have also been alerting my friends and family in San Antonio to avoid this place at all costs.

The staff attends to matters that concern their patients and work tirelessly to assist their patients in bettering situations as they arise. For this we are greatly appreciative. Quality of care starts from the top down from professional administration to the outstanding nursing staff to physical/occupational therapies, cleaning, maintenance and reception. Each skill attends to the patients with respect and dignity as if they were their relatives (the kind you love). All levels of the SHC have touched us personally with their abilities and they go the extra mile to make my brother's experience a positive one. As I said, the office experience we've had started with administration, VA in house support, reception and each category work well together to make the entire process as smooth as possible. Each of the skills work in tandem with their counterparts, the patients and families to make SHC a welcome and pleasing experience for our loved ones. If I am to be honest, there is one area that needs improvement and that is the food system. A primary thought is that of the nutritional requirements of the patients like my brother being a diabetic. I see very little initiative in maintaining a consistent diabetic diet per CDC guidelines. Additionally, I'm a high proponent of management awareness of what the "customers" i.e., patients are eating to see if quality changes should be made in an effort to make life better on a daily basis. As stated earlier, I/we consider all the major branches of staff at SHC are exceptional and the food part could do better to make SHC an all around exceptional center for its patients.
