PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Round Rock - So nice!

I love to give 5 star reviews but sadly this is not the time. My husband went in and we were so…read morehopeful that the two weeks he was scheduled to be there would help him recover from his month in bed while in and out of the hospital. Unfortunately, PAM was not up for the challenge. The nursing and tech staff were good enough. We enjoyed Cyndi, the Sarahs and Meliza especially. He had speech therapy every day. He had OT a few days and PT even less. So much less that in his discharge paperwork, the PT sign off was left blank. They couldn't even attest as to any level of progress. And PT was the main reason he was there. I inquired with scheduling and they said they were short staffed. I reached out to the CEO who came to his room and said she'd look into it and get back to me. Again, sadly no follow through. The OT intimated that he was difficult to work with and that may have been what PT encountered also - so blaming my husband for PT not coming? Really? I'm not saying my husband is the easiest guy in the world to work with but at least show up. I've already had one occasion to steer others clear of the disappointing results we saw and will continue to do so.

I was a patient at Pam Rehabilitation Hospital after surgery…read more The staff told me they could handle all my medical needs, but when I developed a painful rash that turned into an infection, they refused to let me go to the ER or follow my surgeon's orders. My surgeon had prescribed two important medications -- one for nerve-endin' pain and another to treat the rash before it became infected. The hospital removed both prescriptions and substituted ineffective treatments. The caseworker told me they were giving me the same medicine, but that wasn't true. Their own documentation confirms this. Because my nerve-endin' pain medication was withheld and the infection worsened, the pain became unbearable. My skin grew so sensitive that even a brush of fabric or a breeze caused me to scream in pain. Instead of helping, some staff made fun of me and yelled at me for reacting -- even though their neglect caused the problem. They also refused to provide the pain medicine immediately, even in that situation. I have documents and photos showing the difference in care, including pictures of my incision site two days after arrival and again five days later, clearly showing how the infection spread. Once I left and received the correct medications from my surgeon, the rash and pain began to improve right away. Please Look at the proof attached of the actual type of care they give before using Pam Rehabilitation Hospital for post-surgical recovery or wound care

She was just getting to the food & activity improvement when we were told that she found a new opportunity more suited to her desired future. We would not want to stand in her way, but she is SORELY MISSED! The food has been based on cheap & overused oil. Nothing can overcome the nasty oil being used! The protein is limited to mixer of meat, bone, & grizzle that ruins every dish. Occasionally there are suspect cuts of real meat with little relation to real meat. Most often the facility depends on slices of heavily processed meat rolls. The people cooking have no sense of how to season the food! There's far too much of chili powder & coriander, to the point that we can't consider eating the poorly seasoned compositions. A superior chef is sorely needed! The activities were exceptional with Jessica Trevino. Jessica was pushed to do the job of at least 2 people, which ruined activities. The new activity director has been given far more support from CNAs, but Jessica contributed wonderful food & activities above & beyond what is currently provided.

Every-time I asked to speak to the doctor or for help I was turned down. Patients have the right to be free of pain or have less pain as well as be treated with compassion. I am still impacted negatively from my treatment received at your facility. I hope you have done some improvements since my hellish stay. The one nurse who told me I quote " if you keep crying I won't come back into your room" should have been fired for her lack of compassion. I hope your staff takes a urine bag connected to my bladder being stepped on and left on the floor without cleaning seriously two years later. This place was able to take me in and help me with my wrist problems right away with a doctor's prescription (which you need). I would say 15 places that I called, I had to leave a message and they got back to me a day or two after. Not.Cool. Not to mention when I tried to schedule an appointment, I would have to wait over two weeks. I didn't realize it would be so hard finding a physical therapist. Shocked no one has written about Dr. Barnes. Boy, did I find something very wonderful. VERY Where to begin? I have seen other patients and he helps with everything; back, legs, arms, hands, neck, post-surgery, arthritis... The staff... way cool. Too cool for school. They rock to oldies which I like (or whatever you prefer), they are so sweet, very caring, and will help you every step of the way. HE IS GOOD. If you need physical therapy, go to him. Or I should say I recommend him to you if you want (deep breath in): to take care of your problem NOW, someone who actually cares, a clean (too clean) facility, to be surrounded by the most friendliest of people, a nice and refrigerator cold for everyone exercising, and free candy. Parking, no problem, there's a huge endless lot outside. He (plus staff) genuinely cares and the most important part... he listens and DOES SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Now that is what I like. If you hate pain like me, this place is very catering towards pain. Hooking you up to electric massaging or ultrasound is always fun. If you don't mind pain, I'm sure you will do your physical therapy much faster than me. But when it comes to your body, it is not about how fast, it is about how well you take care of it. And another great part is the jar of candy that stares at you every time you leave. Dum Dums you make my day sweeter. I couldn't be happier I found this place and I couldn't be happier to write this Yelp for this place. Amazing... and I don't say that often. I 120% recommend this place if you want a great physical therapist. Oh and by appointments... one time I called thirty minutes before an appointment to schedule that appointment. He can take you in. Currently, he works at the medical center in the A.M. and from 1:30pm-6pm he's at the Beorne Stage location.
