There was only one worker and someone who seemed to be a manage at the checkout area. When I paid, the worker told me that only one card had loaded, and the guy that appeared to be a "manager" had to help figure it out. The line started to grow, but they had to check each card's balance to see which one had the $25 to make sure they gave me the right card. I asked what happened and they just said one card didn't load. They didn't explain why the other card didn't load and just asked if I wanted to purchase another one. Because the line was long, I decided to pass. I've never had issues before, so I'm not sure what happened, it was weird but I didn't feel like holding up the line. I was able to use the loaded card to get gas at the pump successfully. I like to buy the card and use it at the pump for extra speedy rewards. I didn't get receipts for the gift cards due to the confusion, though the pump did print a receipt for my gas. I always get receipts because I scan them for points.

It was quick, easy, and I didn't even have to go inside. I normally don't like paying at the pump because of the security concerns with card skimmers and the occasional extra authorization hold, so being able to pay through the app was a nice alternative. I came to Speedway today because they're running a special where you can save 50 cents per gallon through their text promotion. With gas prices being what they are right now, that's a BIG savings! I ended up paying only $2.92 per gallon when the regular price was around $3.47. That was a SCORE! The promotion is running on the 7th and 11th days of the month through October, so definitely check for the details before filling up. Pumping was fast and easy, payment through the app was quick and efficient, and I really like the upgrades they've made to the app. The rewards program is another nice bonus.

Think gas station/convenience store offering locally made food items, freshly prepared bowls/drinks and kolaches. Second guilty admission: never had a kolache. The nice woman behind the counter helped me choose (they were buy one, get one free)! So I chose one egg and cheese, and one spinach and cheese. They were warmed in an oven while I went to grab a coffee and use the restroom, which was very clean and well-stocked. Pro tip: if you want a latte or another specialty coffee, order at the counter. If you want to make your own, go to the coffee bar. It's less expensive, plus they have a variety of sweeteners, Torani syrups, and assorted creamers (including plant-based). The cash register employee let me know when they were ready to go, and my grand total was less than $6. I picked up a few hot sauce packets from the condiment bar and sat down in the dining area to eat. The kolache itself is essentially a small, light sandwich. The bread was soft, with a hint of sweetness. The egg and cheese combo was perfect for my light lunch! I had a bite of the spinach and cheese kolache before I left, which was even more flavorful and cheesy! Can't wait to have it tomorrow morning.
