Actually, the whole shopping trip was pretty good and there was a wait in line, but it wasn't too bad. However, I was waiting in line 12 and a child in front of me dropped some coins and was paying for his own cookies. His mother was in front of him, so I helped him try to find his coins and so did she, and there was only one person behind me. Everything moved along relatively smoothly, but when I got up to the register, and the mother and son had left the cashier who is an older lady wanted to complain to me about the woman that her son taking too long and moving in the way, and having their cart still there whatever I told her twice that it was not a big deal and that I didn't care about the weight, but she wanted me to join in with her in demeaning this customer that was before me. It really put a bad taste in my mouth because she was neither pleasant nor kind. I expect a lot more from the cashiers at Meijer because I've never had this experience before, but I was in a really good mood because it was New Year's Eve and she really soured the moment. It has been nearly nine years since my original review of this Meijer location, an eagerly anticipated arrival for me as a longtime fan of Meijer. An updated review is long overdue. First off, the anticipated battle between Wal-Mart and Target has been a non-starter. All three still co-exist within about a mile or so of each other with Target, in particular, blossoming with the growth of Glendale Town Center. While my original review was for opening weekend, this review is now several years in with hours changed, staffing patterns established, and a sense of the mundane established. ADA still tends to be fine (and slightly better than Target in my opinion. The Ben's Pretzels that was here is long gone. The South Bend Chocolate Company spot that was planned never came to be. The area where you can buy pizza is a small dining area at the back of the store with a few tables and a vastly reduced selection. The pharmacy here is still a highlight. I've always appreciated the staff - something I can seldom say about the rest of the store. As a chain, Meijer has a long history of hiring people with disabilities and frequently for more than being a doorway presence. In the battle of the three major stores (Target, Wal-Mart, Meijer), there's no question Target's the winner. I primarily head to Meijer for certain items, for pharmacy (I don't care for CVS pharmacy, a Target partner), and for ice. I also head here because the accessible parking is superior to Target and Meijer has small carts that are easier for a wheelchair user to manage. Customer service? Clearly a Target win. It's not even close. Even at opening, Meijer fell short and it's only gotten worse here. Last night, I visited Meijer in search of a few items. I can almost never find help to reach an item. Customer service continues to carry on personal conversations in lieu of serving people. The self-serve check-out is nearly always unreasonably long. Actual check-out lanes are typically 2-3 available with ungodly long waits. As an ostomy wearer (if you don't know, you probably don't want to), mine actually popped last night because I was in line so long waiting. Seriously. Seriously inexcusable. I live about 2 miles and five minutes from this location. I frequently get in my car and drive all the way to McCordsville because that location is better staffed, friendly, has greater selection, and is immensely cleaner. I realize it's newer, but it's actually been a while and I consistently have a better experience. Yes, I know McCordsville is a small town. Yes, I know 56th and Keystone is a bit rougher area (as evidenced by the fact that security and/or IMPD is consistently a presence here). But, really? If you're going to have this location why not show some pride in it? My feelings of "meh" have given way to feelings of embarrassment to the Meijer chain for this location. I should not have an ostomy pop because I've waited in line for so long trying to check out. The cashier? Perfectly fine (I do tend to view Meijer employees as Stepford employees...incredibly robotic and devoid of personality). Am I done here? Probably not. It's too convenient. However, more and more I'm giving my hard-earned dollars to Target and/or making the trip to McCordsville. This area deserves more than a dirty and under-staffed Meijer with a worse selection. I absolutely want Meijer to continue to be here - I just want this Meijer to be representative of the best of Meijer instead of the worst. read more

Thank God for CORTEZ! If not for him I probably wouldn't have been able to get "cash back'. For some reason getting cash at self check is a problem and when you ask a worker, good luck because most of them can't tell you which check-out is giving cash back. But many times now Cortez has come to the rescue. His peers should learn from him and management should consider him for advancement. Also, we just adore Mercy. She is one of the greeters and has been there for years. And the older guy who's newer at nights, don't no his name but always smiling. read more

3 attempted pickup orders. 2 cancelled without explanation. I attempted the 3rd and last 27 Aug. Out of 4 items, 2 were available and there was no notification of those 2 items being an issue. My first time visiting this meijer on keystone the other day and the employee at self checkout left me with leaving this 1 star review. As I was checking out I went to scan my rotisserie chicken. Because I had to tilt it to the side to scan (because barcode on the top and wouldn't come off) some of the juice ran out and spilled on scanner. I immediately got her attention and asked did she have a rag or paper towel so that I could wipe it up. She looked at me with such a nasty expression on her face, didn't say anything and walked away from me. Because I was in a good mood I laughed at her ssa. Do not order delivery from this store. They will make substitutions that don't match the items ordered. On top of that, it will come hours after the delivery window and when you call to follow-up, they will basically tell you to just wait and if it never shows up, you should call back. I've always been a fan of Meijer but this experience might have changed that. If you can't provide a service how it should be done, don't provide the service. read more

Yep it's me again and it's PACKED in meijer! I'm sure this is the typical Saturday; I'm up here to be pretend to be prepared for our "snow storm". Anyways this is the first time in awhile where I actually had a great experience at THIS specific meijer. This one is not my favorite to go to because they're usually out of most produce items. I had a wonderful check out experience with Mychelle! Usually it's pulling teeth to get a cashier to talk (and trust me when you have A LOT of groceries it can be awkward). Mychelle was awesome though! She even grabbed another cart to start loading my checked out bags since my cart was still full (first time anyone has EVER did this). Usually we're just standing awkward while I juggle trying to bag my cart AND still load the belt. I placed an order for pickup on Friday January 3rd for food items. I ordered a variety of items, one item ordered was a 2- pack lobster tail at a price of $13.99 and 1 can of Jackfruit at around $4.15. When the app directed me at the end of my order, I was gìven selection days of Sunday the 5th thru Friday of course I chose Sunday the closet of the days. Sunday arrives, I go to pick up my order,made Meijer pickup aware i was there and my parking slot, i actually had to call into the store. I have a new phone number, Meijer would not accept, message said someone else has the same phone number, yet i was given this phone number back in July 2024 by my telephone service provider. So i had to call inside the store. I understood i needed to provide my old phone number to locate my order. I had a question for the person in Meijer pick up, she hung on me as i was talking to her. As i was sitting checking my emails while waiting for my order, i had just then received an email stating 2 of my items were out of stock. Guy comes out loads my order i leave. I got groceries home unloaded and began putting items away and discovered the can of Jackfruit was dented with a wide dent on the can. I had not been informed at the store, by the employee the can was dented. My order had totaled $98.75. When i was emailed my receipt $ 97.45 and i did not recieve an $3.99 and $3.19 item. Meijer charged me $18.99 for the 13.99 Lobster tails. I immediately called the store and spoke to someone who claimed to be the assistant manager. I question the charge and told her about the Jackfruit can being dented. This employee told me, the sale was over Saturday on the lobster tails and to bring the can of Jackfruit back at my earliest convenience. I said to her, why wasnt i told about this and on Friday I had paid for my order and their availability only gave me Sunday thru the week. The employee told me its not their fault on what days they give you for pickup. I told her i would call corp. I hung up. I called corp, told a employee the details, she said when ordering it said the price can change. I said to her, sure if you are out of stock and deducting from the order, I paid for the order on Friday. She hesitant offer a 1 time adjustment. I told nevermind, if the price wont be honored and you up charge $5.00, keep it and i wont be shopping with Meijer again, you extend a courtesy to me and uncharged me because of your pickup days. I will never buy from Meijers for anything again, i will never go out of my way to to drive all way back to exchange a dented can of Jackfruit. Beware of the nonsense, in this economy. read more

I was there last night at around 7:30 and the young girl at the self-checkout had such an uncaring attitude. I was buying wine and had my ID ready to show her and she didn't even look at it. She just said, "What's your birthday" in a very rushed way. I don't like voicing my personal information for everyone in line to hear. She typed it in and walked away with an annoyed look on her face. I even tried to say thank you as I left the self-checkout area, but she didn't even look in my direction or respond in anyway...which is a normal thing to do in society. I usually never have issues with staff at Meijer, but this girl made me feel very rushed and in the way. In my opinion, she does not represent the Meijer I've come to know and trust. I think I only know about meijer because I have family in Michigan. Growing up it is where we would make runs for random things and was always impressed. Being a transplant Hoosier Kroger has been my go to. Lately I've found Kroger to be overcrowded with one line for an actual person running the check out (yes I know thats weird but if I'm going to bag my my food I want a discount) So I'm currently in a new grocery store search and work right near a meijer on keystone. Just made a random decision to try out meijer for my weekly groceries. Clean and well organized, plenty of affordable food options, as well as expansive wines and beer. I'm not sure if I just hit it at the right time but it was dead as far as the crowd. I'll be back just to see if I can get some consistency in my new grocery store experiment read more

Don't even bother placing a pickup order here. I placed an order that came out to roughly $50, and after 5 hours half of the items couldn't be found at the store. We're talking basic things like ground beef, chicken, rice, vidalia onions, etc., not anything out of the ordinary. What a waste! read more

Today as I was driving across the front someone launched their cart in front of my car and sent it crashing off the front of the building. I thought to myself "lol this Meijer always Wildin idk why I don't just go to target 5 minutes north but oh well." On my way out I realized the man who had did that was not a guest but the cart boy! Location is great; close to my house but is it as convenient as I thought? No. The store is obviously huge so selection is great however the produce is usually picked over and not at peak freshness. The alcohol is expensive (they also mark MSRP up and then show a discount to entice people to buy due to sale but the sale price is still higher than normal). There doesn't seem to be efficient amount of lanes open to ensure quick checkout. I've always had to stand in line more than 3-4 people in front of me, self checkout and regular. read more

Pretty disappointed in this store because it's so new. It's it ok? Yes. Can I find most of the things I need? Usually. And some employees were helpful and friendly, specifically had a good experience with someone at the butcher counter. But other things are not ideal. Some aisles were almost completely blocked by stocking happening midday on a Saturday -the busiest time for a store! Another aisle I shopped had a wide variety of very similar products from which I was hoping to buy the cheaper option based on shelf labels, I picked what I thought was cheaper and ended up paying $15 more than I expected. The newer stores have lines that feed all check out stations so you don't get screwed by one line taking longer... Not here. No matter what your roll the dice with the line you pick especially if it's busy. I just can't have my 30 minute grocery trip turn into over an hour when only 3 people are in front of me in line. Yes, I can handle waiting for 30 minutes but I only expect it if there's like 6 or more prime in front of me usually! The selection is as expected at a Meijer and they have a very good frozen food and alcohol section. Typical good prices...I just wish the experience in store was better. read more

I shop here frequently for grocery and household items. They have a nice selection, but I often have trouble finding all the items on my list. They seem to frequently be out of things. Some of that is probably still due to the pandemic. I normally have good shopping experiences here. I tend to go later in the evening to avoid the crowd, but after a certain time, they shut down all the registers and only the self-checkout is open. Usually they have at least one regular check out open, but I must have had bad timing this last time. People must have been on break when I got to the front, so I had to scan my big basket of groceries on my own. Note to self: don't do heavy grocery shopping at 10pm. A cashier opened up a register as I was leaving, so it was just my luck. Prices are pretty good and they run some nice sales. And like I said, they normally have a pretty good selection when it comes to groceries. I can sometimes find some nice clothing or some other thing I wasn't there to buy too! read more

I was super disappointed in the stocking at Meijer. I went Monday around 8 pm and most all produce was gone! Cabbage and cauliflower were the only vegetables that had a selection. Not a single banana to be found. It was extremely disappointing. read more

I started going to Meijer during the pandemic because the store I frequented before had consistently empty shelves. I also find Meijer has better produce and meat. It's slightly more expensive, but worth it. I normally order groceries for pick up. Until recently, Meijer was using Shipt to fulfill these online orders. Now they're doing it in house. I was bummed about this because I loved that shipt shopper would text me and tell me what was and wasn't available, so I could change my plans on the fly. My first time using Meijer's in house program they mixed up my order with someone else. I called the next day and they had me come in and talk to customer service. The customer service workers are why my review is so positive. Nikki, Shalyn and another persons name I can't remember we're so helpful in making things right. They shopped my items for me, gave me a $10 gift card and apologized profusely. We're all really struggling during this pandemic and I'm sure grocery store workers feel the pressure especially. I appreciated their kindness and patience in making things right with my order. I'll definitely keep doing my grocery shopping here! read more

Okay, it IS convenient at times, especially since the ghetto Hometown Marsh on 52nd closed, but why do I have to scan my own groceries?! And when I do, why do I ALWAYS have to call a Customer Service rep?! I'm not kidding. Every. Damn. Time. Let me make clear, there is no rhyme or reason for their response, no order or system. Meijer rewards are a joke. I don't know why they have them. The store is too large for me to navigate and causes backups on Keystone Ave. every day. There should be a dedicated light. Oh, there is, at the only other exit on the other side of the parking lot. I have been a regular now for several months. These are by far the best chocolates I've had and worth every penny! They are called "Fine Chocolates" for a reason. The staff is unbelievably kind consistently. The store is always so clean and organized. It's not JUST about their chocolates, it's also the coffee drinks, hot chocolate, ice cream.
