Too many times at other stations I see the dreaded, "See Cashier for Receipt" and then I have to go inside and wait in line to obtain my receipt. The convenience store has many good snack and drink options too.

But I was intrigued, so figured I'd check it out. Now I had no idea what Leo's offered until I went in. Think gas station/convenience store offering locally made food items, freshly prepared bowls/drinks and kolaches. Second guilty admission: never had a kolache. The nice woman behind the counter helped me choose (they were buy one, get one free)! So I chose one egg and cheese, and one spinach and cheese. They were warmed in an oven while I went to grab a coffee and use the restroom, which was very clean and well-stocked. Pro tip: if you want a latte or another specialty coffee, order at the counter. If you want to make your own, go to the coffee bar. It's less expensive, plus they have a variety of sweeteners, Torani syrups, and assorted creamers (including plant-based). The cash register employee let me know when they were ready to go, and my grand total was less than $6. I picked up a few hot sauce packets from the condiment bar and sat down in the dining area to eat. The kolache itself is essentially a small, light sandwich. The bread was soft, with a hint of sweetness. The egg and cheese combo was perfect for my light lunch! I had a bite of the spinach and cheese kolache before I left, which was even more flavorful and cheesy! Can't wait to have it tomorrow morning. The cafe also features freshly prepared smoothies, coffee drinks, salad/potato/pasta bowls as well as soups, with a rotating soup of the day. There's truly something for every taste. I've noticed that this gas station generally has the lowest-cost gas in the area. I like coming here because the gas pump's functions work, and I've not had any issues paying at the pump. Also, the receipt prints out, so there is no need to go inside, which fewer gas pumps are doing these days. Getting gas here is seamless and reliable. This location is very convenient and is easily accessible.

They've got the wall of jerky. They've got the restrooms set up in the same area of the store. (Wally's also claims to have the cleanest restrooms.) They've got the people at the entrances greeting you with a semi-enthusiastic "Welcome to Wally's!" They've got the brisket sandwiches. I could list a lot more similarities, but you get the gist. If you've been to Buc-ee's, it will be hard to not compare the two convenience stores. But if you haven't been to Buc-ee's? Then baby, you're in for a treat! Wally's is really cool, actually. I tried to stay neutral during my Wally's visit, and absorb it as though I had never stepped into a Buc-ee's. Because Wally's deserves a shot to shine on its own accord. This place has an amazing array of food. The middle of the store is basically a food court, with grab-and-go hot-food options like pizza slices, burritos, soft tacos, brisket sandwiches, cheeseburgers, chicken tenders and lots more. Then there are the refrigerated items, like tuna sandwiches, salads, wraps, and even a thing called an egg BLT, which is basically a hard-boiled egg cut in half with bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiched between it. I eschewed that advice and went with my heart instead, and got the El Fuego Burrito, which has shredded beef, white cheese sauce, black beans, corn and green chiles in it. It was alright! Maybe I eat too slowly, but by the time I was halfway done, the burrito was lukewarm. Also, the burrito was not as "fuego" as I thought it would be -- it's very mild, with almost no spiciness to it. So, not bad, but I think I might get something else next time. My kids got pizza slices: one pepperoni and one cheese. The kid who got the cheese pizza said that it didn't come with sauce! Just cheese and crust. I don't know if that was a mistake or if that's the way the cheese pizza is. We also got the smash burger (it was more like a regular burger) and the cheese tots, which were fried discs of cheese, basically. The food was fine, if you're evaluating it in terms of restaurant quality. But it was above average for a gas station. We visited and got a bunch of food with the intention of eating it there, but keep in mind: Wally's has no tables anywhere, indoors or outdoors! They want you to get your crap and GTFO, so there are no tables or chairs to be seen anywhere on the premises. Also, this is not a semi-truck-friendly place. No semis allowed! Just regular vehicles. But they have dozens and dozens of gas pumps, in case you need to fuel your regular vehicle.

I wanted to see if all the hype is real. The gas station/convenience store is large and pristine. Gas was priced the lowest that I've seen in a long time at $2.52 a gallon. The gas pumps have a lot going on, covered with ads and daily specials. Air pumps for inflating tires are modern and free! Inside, the store is spacious and clean. I was welcomed when I entered. The staff were friendly and helpful. A $6 special offering any sandwich, assorted chips and small soft drink caught my eye. I ordered at a kiosk, which took me a few minutes to master. I ordered the Crispy Bacon Ranch Chicken. The sandwiches are made to order with toppings of your choice. I paid for my order and picked out some of the Herr Old Bay chips and poured a coke. The soda machine does require advanced tech skills. I couldn't figure out the ice, but it was ok. The sandwich came out fairly quickly, giving me time to look around. They carry premade breakfast sandwiches, locally prepared donuts, fruit, bottled drinks, snacks and everything you'd expect at a convenience store. My sandwich was hot. For fast food and the inexpensive price, the sandwich was a great deal. The clerk told me that the specials change regularly. Last week, they had a breakfast special. They have restrooms and plenty of accessible parking. I was disappointed that there were no tables to eat. (I hate to eat in my car.) In general, if you're in a hurry, Wawa is a decent option for a reasonably priced meal and getting gas.

Along with the tasty food options Ricker's offer perks like free ATMs and a Rewards card with great benefits. I understand that some people wouldn't be excited about a super convenience store but if you are a road warrior like me you will appreciate Ricker's.

So I simply asked why they couldn't cash it. The two young male workers got extremely rude and started yelling at me with attitude. even threatening to come around the counter. I told them to calm down that I was simply just asking a question and they continue to yell and told me to get out of their store. I felt so threatened that I ended up throwing my straw that was in my hand out of nervousness because he was starting to walk around the counter. I've never been treated so poorly in my life by two males. I love the ladies that are in there during the day. But I will never go back because the way that they came at me aggressively and came around the corner at me and were so close to putting their hands on me, actually scared me, and then they proceeded to follow me out the door yelling at me.
