On Saturday, August 10th, around 8:30 p.m., I went to the Speedway on Hwy 90 and Hwy 31 E. I had old lottery tickets, a $20 bill, and my debit card when I entered the store. I checked my lottery tickets, got two drinks and some chips, then went to the register to pay. The total for the items was $5.39. I handed the cashier, named Teresa, the twenty, and she, for whatever reason, thought I gave her a $5.00 bill. I knew I gave her $20.00 because that was the only cash I had for a week. I even went to get my purse to double check that my wallet was empty, but I knew that $20.00 was all I had because I got the money from the machine on Tuesday and didn't go anywhere else until the tropical storm Debby passed. I was given a receipt and told to come back the next morning after they ran the totals. I called the number on the receipt that night and Sunday morning, and no one ever answered. I went back the very next day and spoke with a supervisor named Tina, who told me that the computers were down and I was to come back the next morning and talk to Dean. I knew right then and there that these people were trying to set me up for the runaround, making me go back to the store over and over, and nothing would get down. I refuse to put myself through that. I wish that when it happened, I would have called the police or pressed charges against Teresa, but I was rushing to get back to work. I will never go in that store again, and they may not care, but they will lose way more than $15.00 from losing me as a customer because I spent way more than that in there on a regular basis. I am also going to write to their corporate office and let them know what BS is taking place there.
UPDATE
I was contacted by a rep named Adriana. After a couple of email exchanges, she said that I would be contacted by a specialist. This was on August 28th. It is now September 19th, and I have not heard a word from this so-called specialist. What do they specialize in ---- lying to their customers? I even sent Adriana an email asking for the name of the regional manager of the area, and I have never heard back from her either. This is exactly why I did not go back to that store for a third time, because I knew they were doing nothing but giving me the runaround. After being a frequent customer, I will never patronize any Speedway anywhere ever again. read more
