2021: Dr. Mark says farewell and retires from the office at 6211 W. 30th St. Dr. Wiley has re-branded the office Speedway Pediatric Center.
    Veronica L.

Dr. Mark has been putting children (and their parents!) at ease with a professional and caring manner and a phenomenal staff at 6211 W. 30th St for 31 years! In 2019 he brought on Dr. Dillon Wiley, and in August 2021 Dr. Mark formally announced his retirement from the practice. Dr. Wiley has re-named the practice Speedway Pediatric Center. The website is https://speedwaypediatricdentistry.com. Cheers to the young Dr. Wiley! May he honor Dr. Mark's legacy of exemplary pediatric care and find his own success through the loyalty and support of his patients and the community.

Kahn was not judgmental about our dental visit history and that he was compassionate about our prior bad experience.

I was referred to them by my son's original dentist as they said they could put him to sleep and fix his teeth in the office. My son is autistic and nonverbal. They wanted me to let them strap him down to a board (which he's never had before and he is a teenager). I told them no. They tried to do it anyways and lets just say it didn't end well. The head lady that works on the nonverbal children said that that's what they do and the children get used to it. If I didn't like it I could go back up north where I came from. I'm not going to allow them to traumatize my son when things have been a certain way the entire time he's been going to a dentist. I'm not the parent that can just sit there while my child is screaming and having a complete breakdown as they strap and hold him down. Anyone with a brain would know that bad things can happen when the child is jerking, screaming, and freaking out as they are working on their teeth. Not to mention make terrified to ever go back to any dentist again. I do NOT recommend anyone with children that are nonverbal go there. Look in surrounding areas, because there's some really incredible dentistry doctors that are patient, understanding, and respectable to the child(ren) and parents. They are about what's best for the child and not themselves.

Do not take their word/assurances that you "should be covered." I made an appointment for my kids to be seen at Clark, Dean, & Associates. The employee I spoke with over the phone when making the appointment inquired about what kind of insurance we had, to which I replied that we were covered by my husband's federal employee insurance. She told me that they accepted government plans, made the appointment, and that was that. When we went for the appointment, the staff were all friendly. We had a short wait before we were brought back. The staff took x-rays of my kids' teeth, the dental hygienist gave them a 5-10 minute cleaning, and the dentist looked over my kids' teeth and x-rays. We were in the office for approximately 1 hour. When we were checking out, the employee said that she did not know our specific insurance coverages, but that she did not think we would have any costs to worry about. Fast forward to the following Monday- I receive a call from the office to inform me that this office does not accept our insurance and we now have a $390 bill for services rendered. Wow! When my husband went to their office to get a break down of what in the world they did that constituted a $400 bill ($45/child was strictly bitewings?!?!?), they informed him that it was typically their practice to check insurance coverages, but could offer no explanation of why this was not done for us. Absolutely unacceptable. We are fortunate that we are able to pay this very unexpected bill (all services would have been covered 100% with an in network provider). The clinic did offer a measly 10% cash discount, but I would have elected to find an in network dentist had I been informed that this office was not covered by our insurance. Shame on me, and shame on this office for not verifying benefits for their customers.

The chairs are set up more like little beds for them, so it really put our older son at ease since it was just a nice comfy place to lay, not a "dentist chair." (This does appear to change as they get older - so your experience could be a little different.) The best thing is that they really worked with both of our kids and were so patient - to the point that when our oldest was too scared for x-rays, they didn't push it and just said we could try again next time. The waiting room is also a big highlight - there's a separate room with a basketball goal and a big Lite Brite wall to keep the kids entertained until it's their time to go back. Really happy this place was recommended to us and look forward to our next visit. And my kids might even say that too - which is a BIG win.

I questions the treatment option asked if there was other option available for my daughter as these are baby teeth! Dr. Nadia stated no and I asked if I had any option in my daughters treatment And I was told no! Needless to say my daughter never went back . I found a new dentist and come to find out my daughter only needs 1 single crown NOT SEVEN! and the others that "needed crowns" can be filled and or stain put on to stop cavity since the teeth will be falling out within months. Aldrich has become very much "money hungry" I've spoke to many doctors that's I know and they stated the same thing! Please if you feel the treatment is a bit excessive for your child always get a second opinion
