This is a pediatric dentist office. The staff was absolutely terrible! You don't know what barriers patients have to getting the care that they need. I was loudly scolded for paperwork that I showed up 20 minutes early to fill out as requested and reprimanded for the ENTIRE OFFICE TO HEAR! Not an ounce of my dignity or confidentiality was respected! I have never felt more publicly humiliated or embarrassed. The first two times I sucked it up and assumed the best intent. I used to take my kids to this clinic, but they don't do a good job.. They take 5 minutes with each kid. I noticed some cavities on both of my kids, so I went to another clinic to get a second opinion and yes they had cavities Dr. Kahn always says no cavities, you did a great job mom, see you in 6 months bye bye... He just care about the money he is gonna get paid. He wants to see as many kids as possible, so they only take 5- 10 minutes per kid.. Every minute counts you know! My kids had a real Cleaning in another clinic. They took their time to clean their teeth.. maybe like 30 minutes with each of my kids. For the very first time they had a real cleaning.. I don't know why I stayed so many years in this place. Now my 3 years old daughter has 7 cavities, and my 11 years old son 5 cavities read more

Dr. Kahn is a fantastic peds dentist. My kids actually look forward to going to the dentist. The office is very inviting with video games and a play area to pass the time waiting for your appointment. (Which is never quite long enough in the kids opinion!) Once you are called back into the dental area there is an open bay concept which is calming to children when they can see other children calm and safe. There are televisions to destract during the cleanings and procedures. Dr. Kahn truely cares! read more

I went to Dr. Kahn as a child and all of my siblings. It was a no brainer when I had children that we would continue going to the same office. My oldest was able to be seen by Dr. Kahn prior to his retirement and loved him and the office staff. Once Dr. Wiley stepped in, we felt the office started to go down hill. Nonetheless I did not want to change offices because it was the same I went to as a child. Every time we went, it felt less and less compassion for our children and services. A few months ago we went with our youngest and was told that he needed a paste put on his teeth due to his age and a cavity. No problem but once we figured out what was going on, our seat chair was already taken, and I had to hold my child in my lap and lay him down towards the hygienist to get the paste on. (P.S. we do love that hygienist; she was truly amazing and has been there for many many years). It was annoying but we made it work. That was in October but our bill came in on January! That is an insane amount of time to wait for a bill especially because most of that visit was a routine visit. We were only given 20ish days to pay the 400 bills. We paid it but then our youngest needed to go back to look at this paste for the cavity. My husband was frustrated that this bill was so delayed, and all these forms needed to be done again. Once he questioned the receptionist about the bill, she was very snippy and stated you need to argue with your insurance. Regardless of a customer being frustrated, waiting three months to bill someone and expect 20 days to pay is insane. From then, we decided this is not the same dentist office or staff that Dr. Kahn had and will never go back. I hate to see that this has changed so much since his retirement and our family has over 2 generations there but never again. read more

The doctor is fine, the billing department on the other hand lacks compassion for special circumstances. Was away taking care of dying family member. Was not getting mail. Never received a phone call that balance was due. When I got home and realized we owed something they had already turned it over to collections. They refused to take payment at their office. They were completely rude to me and had no compassion under the circumstances. Changed dentists because I want to go somewhere where the office individuals have compassion for extraordinary circumstances. Maybe they should review their collection process. We NEVER had any history of not making payment and have been patients there for over 20 years. read more

I really enjoy this dentist...actually lets say my kids do. My 8 year old is actually excited to go to the dentist...umm yeah...excited..really...which means they did a great job of not leaving her in pain. The staff is wonderful...always really nice and when the husband missed an appt. I didn't get some crazy bill because of the miscommunication! My oldest loves the video games they have there!! It definitely worth taking your kids...and we live on the OTHER side of town...and drive the extra 5/20 min to take our kids to Dr. Kahn! read more

I am writing about a dental visit with Dr. Wiley on June 12th, 2022. My son started attending this dental practice as a patient with Dr. Kahn when he was about 1.5yrs old. Dr. Kahn was amazing. After he retired, we stayed at the new practice hoping the new dentist would be as good. We were wrong. In the prior 2 visits to the incident on June 12th, my husband and I both found Dr. Wiley's behavior toward us condescending, bordering on contemptuous. I observed this same behavior toward other parents while waiting in the patient room. But he had never acted this way toward the children-my son or others in the patient room. We had discussed moving dentists before this awful visit and how I wish we had. On the day of my son's routine cleaning, I was waiting in the lobby rather than the patient room, like I normally do, because we had another child with us that day and I didn't want to crowd the patient room. I was called back by the hygienist and I knew right away something was wrong by the way she said "Dr. Wiley wants to see you." Her tone was like getting called to the principals' office. I came back to find my son crying and saying "Ow" and "It hurts" and his bottom gums bleeding. Did Dr. Wiley stop? No! Instead he jumped right into nastily lecturing me on how I am not flossing his gums correctly and that I need to push the floss all the way down "like this" and shoved the floss down causing my son to cry out in pain again. I said "Stop!" and was grabbing my son's face to comfort him and pull him toward me when Dr. Wiley finally stopped. I was hugging my son and comforting him and Dr. Wiley came back and said "see you in 6mths." No apology to my son! No comfort rendered. Nothing! What kind of person acts like that? Especially an adult toward a child! His need to lecture me on my flaws in flossing was more important to him than the comfort and well-being of my child? He was awful. They walked me to the front desk like I was going to schedule again- I assured them we would never come back to this place again. I don't do online reviews unless something has gone egregiously wrong with an experience I have had. This is one of those times. I would be very wary about scheduling an appointment here. read more

This used to be a great dentist office. I took my kids here for 22 years. However, new office policies and staff under the new dentist are extremely unprofessional. Office staff recently claimed to have canceled my kids' dentist appointments ON the morning of the appointments, WHEN we arrived there (just a few weeks ago) ... even though they had sent us a text reminder for the appointments as they typically do! They never told us about these canceled appointments and they refused to see our kids that morning, causing us missed work time. They insisted that they could not see our kids because they sent us to collections a few days before. They did not know what the amount of the bill was that they sent to collections and apparently had contacted us at old phone numbers we haven't had in decades. They did not care that they caused this huge inconvenience for our family. So, I transferred our kids over to our adult dentist, where we know they are professional and care about our family. read more

Took my son for his first dentist visit. Loved the whole experience!! They had video games for free in the waiting room. Toys for younger kids to keep busy also. The staff was amazing! A couple of year ago, I took my kids to Healthy Smiles 4 You on the west side of Indy, and the whole experience was a complete and total disaster. My oldest son has severe ADHD and anxiety problems, and the experience at Healthy Smiles was so terrible, I thought he was going to have a seizure from the totally and utterly awful experience. I was so shaken that I wondered if I'd ever be able to take him to a dentist again. But in talking to our pediatrician, we got a recommendation for Dr. Kahn. My son had two cavities that really needed attention, so we made an appointment, worried sick. The first appointment was the cleaning, and it went very well. Dr. Kahn confirmed the two cavities, both of which are so bad they needed a crown. So today was the day for crown number 1. I sat nearby the whole time while the procedure took place, and it was quick and easy. My son was at ease with Dr. Kahn, and Dr. Kahn and his assistant were able to get him through the procedure without tears, without struggling, and without wrapping him up in a restriction blanket like they did at Healthy Smiles 4 You. I cannot say how relieved I am that this procedure went well. We're getting the other cavity taken care of after our next pay day, and I am so happy that my son and I don't have to spend the next two weeks dreading it. Instead, the expeirence was what it should be -- no big deal, painless, and tear-free. (Well, except for my tears of relief.) Thank you, Dr. Kahn! You have no idea what this means to us. I also truly appreciated the fact that Dr. Kahn was not judgmental about our dental visit history and that he was compassionate about our prior bad experience. He's a really great guy. read more

We love Dr. Kahn and his staff! Has taken care of four kids over many years. The open treatment area is reassuring and child friendly, and parents can stay with kids at all times. Have even done visits with a kid in my lap when they were very young. Very convenient scheduling and they will see multiple kids at once. I have been taking my daughter to Dr Kahn since she was 3 years old. I never really understood how he could do an exam so fast but with little ones, it seemed to make sense since he was doing xrays. Not the case now! My daughter is now 12 and over the last few years I noticed that even as she got older, the exams were still not thorough enough. Our appointment would last 15 minutes and that's with xrays and a cleaning. I now know why. I took my daughter to a new dentist and she had 10 cavities, some of which had been decaying for 1-2 years!!! Needless to say I am not happy at all! I am so sorry I didn't switch to another dentist sooner. These type of cavities (on top of the tooth) are not detected by bite-wing xrays, only a dentist exam. He definitely missed this and it has cost my daughter her healthy, adult teeth not to mention she feels like she has been lied to for years! read more
