I walked in Lil' Chet's to witness a young man vacuuming the floor, a very kind, patient and broad smiling young lady named Grace who wore the business brand well and then a taller, young man at the cash register and three other younger associates all busy at their post. I always thank people who are working these days but I'll go as far to say these associates were raised right. Bravo to whoever hired so many good workers. Now the Chicken. I walk To the back of the store and there it is.....a trove of fried chicken. I can't tell you how many people I know rave about this fried chicken. They say "it's the best around". I have driven past this place so many times, usually with somewhere to go. This time someone took the wheel and steered me straight in their lot. So I go in to see what all the fuss is about. Grace explained the difference of the chicken selection was. Just to sample, I opted for two thighs and one breast for beef and my wife with a side of sweet mustard. Got home to try it....Rats! I should have bought more.... The chicken was done right. Crispy, not greasy. In fact, if I had to rush out of the house, I know I could turn the doorknob with out washing the grease off my fingers. Breasts were not dry, thighs were tender, better than average in size and the mustard dip had a familiar taste to it but just enough off to make me consider it wasn't store bought and repackaged. So NOW I GET IT! What all the fuss was about. I'll be back for sure.

I ended up ordering some of the chicken wings and the special chicken tender sub that he macaroni and cheese on it, yes, you heard me right. My warning for the wings is to not order them if you are in a hurry, they do take roughly 9 minutes to make which I learned the hard way (can't blame them, they tell you right away). The chicken/macaroni sandwich was delicious and way better then you should be getting or even expecting. The wings were top notch as well, lightly breaded, fried, and packing a bit of crunch. Overall, this place is the top of the line when it comes to gas stations and the perfect place to stop if you are in a hurry and want some super tasty food, give them a try!

The woman (grey hair so there is no mistake who this was) very sarcastically said "Tuna, did you just get off the turnip truck?" Seriously? Maybe she was asking if lettuce and tomato came on it. I wanted to walk out but the sandwiches are always so good that I bit my tongue and we did order two tuna melts with added lettuce. There was no reason to demean her for asking what all comes on the sandwich. She was not joking either until I stated the obvious about additional add ons. It's 8:24 and I am still stunned by her attitude towards us. There is no way to convey her tone and attitude here but obviously it bothered me enough to post this. 5 stars food. 0 stars for her.
