Oh hell no! I speedy walked my ass right out of that restaurant. When I walked in, I got slapped in the face with the strongest of smells of what can be described as mothballs and urinal cleaners. It literally was hurting my nose. I took a look around and the whole restaurant was disheveled chairs and tables upside down on the floor, a salad bar that was empty. Once upon a time this was my go to for 'fast' Chinese food. The quality seemed to decline in recent years but last night was the deal breaker. The teriyaki chicken on skewers was so overcooked that sections of it qualified as chicken jerky. What they now call shrimp rolls are just egg rolls with a hint of shrimp . . . and they were badly overcooked too. The lo mein tasted ok, but the noodles were all in smaller pieces, making it impossible to twirl it onto my fork. Their prices are not great compared to other options, and this meal was just horrible. If it hadn't been a delivery order, I would've given it back & demanded either a refund or replacement. Just terrible. Such a shame. Used to love this place. Don't think it gets another chance after this. It wasn't a one off, more like the next step in what has been a steady downward decline. read more

Called in before placing my order to confirm that the Szechuan bean curd/tofu was vegetarian and had no meat or chicken broth in the sauce and they said it had no meat so I went ahead and placed my order online. The meal was really really good and was excited to find a new place to eat at but half way through eating I found a big slice of pork and I immediately had to stop eating it and was completely disgusted. I know Greenville is a small town and the people that live here might not know any better but god was this food revolting. I ordered a beef dish and what I received can be best described as soggy dough with hard old beef strips (it was supposed to be orange beef lol). Now bad food is one thing, but the service was also abysmal. I ordered though their website for pickup and I didn't receive any confirmation, whether it be phone, text, or email so I had to call them to see if my order was even being prepared. Upon calling they picked up and I was told that another company handled online orders (what?) so i just drove to the restaurant to wait where I discovered my food has been sitting for a while. Speedy Wok has only gotten better with time and I recommend them HIGHLY. 2016 REVIEW: My boyfriend and I got Chinese from here a couple of nights ago and it's our favorite fast Chinese option in town. They are great with modifying and switching things out (we got shrimp rolls instead of egg rolls with our combination dinners) and the crab rangoons are yummy. The fried rice is fresh tasting and the shrimp is big and the veggies were great. It was very reasonably priced, delicious, and fast (should I say speedy?). I mean, we ordered in the restaurant for take-out. But, it was still fast. The portions are big. We've had leftovers for two days now. I am definitely a fan and would much more readily recommend them rather than other Chinese we've had in GVille. read more

We were really hoping for a good meal of Chinese food last night. Unfortunately, this place was not it. We ordered 4 combinations (lo mein, beef and onions and peppers, garlic chicken x 2) and wonton soup. Wonton soup was sour and tasted horrible. We threw it away. Their was no flavors of the beef and onions/peppers (sooo disappointing). Egg rolls were MASSIVE, I've never seen an egg roll like this before. My wife and friend enjoyed the garlic chicken. On my continued quest to find good Americanized Chinese food here in Greenville, I came here. I was going to order online but saw in one of the reviews that their payment portal wasn't secure so decided to call in instead. Hearing that they run a bit slow, I took my time getting there and waited in the car an extra 5 minutes past the promised time to ensure my order would be ready. The line was then long and not exactly socially distanced because of how small the space was and how cold it was outside. Admittedly, this made me a bit paranoid even though everyone had on their masks. They have a nice COVID setup behind all plexiglass to keep the employees safe but the way the lines are distributed seems a bit inefficient. They have one cashier and all orders whether placed in-person or over the phone go to one line and then there are two other lines: a pick-up window and a window for online orders. These were not being utilized. Though it was a bit frustrating I acknowledge that everyone is adjusting to the new normal as best as they can give their resources and maybe this is really efficient otherwise. I do think they need to implement a better method of crowd control in the lobby area using social distancing stickers or signs dictating how many people can be in the lobby at a time. They did have hand sanitizer and a place to put dirty pens which were both helpful. After waiting in line 10 minutes or more, I got to the front of the line and paid for and picked up my order. I ordered the spring rolls, lo mein, vegetable fried rice, and broccoli with garlic sauce. On the drive home I ate the spring rolls which were pretty good. Hot and crisp but the filling needed a bit more seasoning. When I arrived home, I had the rest. The broccoli dish, lo mein and white rice were all a bit soggy but the flavor of the broccoli dish and the lo mein were great. I pitched the rice had to drain off a ton of the garlic sauce but it was better than it being dry I suppose. The vegetable fried rice was good with just a dash of soy sauce. All of this lasted me 3 meals which was a good value. The only thing I didn't like is that the price of the online order was about $5 cheaper ($15 vs $21) than placing the order via phone which I didn't realize until I got all the way home and had no itemized receipt to understand what happened. Overall this is the best of the Chinese food I've had here in Greenville but still leaves a little something to be desired. I'm willing to give them another try for sure given all of the great reviews. read more

One of the best Chinese takeouts I have had. Excellent Lo Mein served hot, fresh and quick. Dishes are cooked right in front of you while you wait with these big super hot woks.
