DO NOT TRUST. The alarm on my septic system went off. I called my septic guy but it turns out that he retired. Speidel & Sons took over his business and responded to the call. The guys came to my house as stated. They stated I needed a new pump and replaced it. After repair, the system was not working. According to Sean, it was the electrical system to the septic that was the issue. My family member made adjustments to the electrical system to make it work. The company still charged $2500 for a pump that was not needed (2 guys, 2 hours). Further, Sean stated there wasn't a warranty on the pump. What????? We looked up the pump (Liberty pump, model # 257 1-1/2; you can buy it on Amazon for $216!) I requested a receipt for a week straight, to date, Sean has not emailed me the receipt. I wonder why?? Just got our septic replaced by Speidel & Sons after sitting on our failed septic for [many] months. Although they were not the lowest bidder, they were able to put us on schedule fairly quickly and a few people from the neighborhood recommended them which is why we decided to go with Speidel & Sons (quality over quantity; especially with a project this size). The process was very easy-- there was no interruption of service and they were done in about a week (given it was done during the July 4th holiday). WARNING DO NOT USE!!! First it took quite awhile before they even started working onthe septic. Second once they said the job was complete, My daughter and I walked around the work area after they left and saw a hole and toilet paper around it... ..... Reason...they never hooked up Unit B to the new Septic System. Luckily we noticed the mistake and it was fixed. I wish i could rate them lower. I had this company replace my septic. It was the worst company I could have picked. The job was supposed to take 7 business days. It ended up taking a year because of the lies and laziness of the owner Steve speidel jr. And his father the former owner. Steve Jr.s first day on the job at my house (we'll his second day because he didn't bother showing up the first day he told me he would, his first no call no show) he was late be over an hour, didn't have the blueprints to even know what he was doing, didn't have the contract I was supposed to sign before starting work. He came completely unprepared to do his job. Steve Jr was personally responsible for overseeing the work at my house. He and his workers had more then 30 no call no show days where I was told they were coming and didn't. They arrived late almost every day the did show up. I later found out that Steve Jr just didn't want to travel to my property because he thought it was to far away. After accepting the job knowing where I lived. He also had no problem taking my money. They buried trash in my yard, used broken pieces of my old septic to try and build a new rock wall that had rusty rebar sticking out of it. I also had other pieces of rebar sticking out of my yard they tried to bury and hide rather then removing it. Cut my power line, broke my outside lamp and then tried to hide it. Steve Jr. Himself is the one that used rocks to try and prop my lamp back up so we wouldn't notice it. He also is the one that cut my power line. He lied about putting down seed and dirt on my property before leaving. He wouldn't answer the phone for our calls for months on end. He refused to resume work in the spring when he was supposed to come back to finish the landscaping. Steve Jr. Is a dishonest child who doesn't know the first thing about running a business. We caught him in countless lies over 6 months while we tried to get him to come back to fix our lard that he ruined. We had a beautiful yard before he showed up and he left it a completely uneven rocky mess that I couldn't even mow. Over 100 large rocks had to be pulled from the yard before new topsoil could be put down. He also left the rocks pulled from my yard in the street for more than a week before coming back for them. Again dodging our calls when we tried to have him remove it. He used bad dirt (his own father came to the house and said the dirt was bad. It had gotten wet after they dumped it in the street and then left it uncovered in a rain storm. The dirt became clumpy and like rocks. We forced them to bring a roller to the property because it was so uneven and hard to walk on.) They also used bad grass seed. The lawn turned into crab grass and weeds after they put down the new dirt and seed. There is much more I could write such as having to Threaten with a lawsuit multiple times to try and get him to just finish the job. But I hope what I have written is enough for you to know, just go somewhere else. I would strongly recommend you spend the extra and hire a more competent company that isn't run by a lair and a child. Steve Jr is going to run that company into the ground if he hasn't already. read more

Exactly the same thing to mention as previous review. DO NOT THINK of using them since there are tons of other more trustworthy and more affordable options. DO NOT USE. They were friendly at first but then kept delaying the job for months(almost 3 months left high and dry for literally less than 20 hours of work being left that another contractor finished for me). Every week, they would say that they would be there the following week and would never show. Steve Sr. should really not let Jr. bid on jobs nor work on them solely. Our septic project started in November of 2020. Steve Jr. originally told us it would take a week while Sr. later told us two weeks. It took the entire winter. We were asked to pay half the cost up front and the other half upon completion. We paid the first half up front and then the second half at the end of January 2021 when Steve Sr. said the job was complete except for the hole in the driveway that was filled with gravel "temporarily" until they could do a real asphalt patch in Spring as the weather needed to be 50 or above. I later found out that Steve was lying about the job being complete because my engineer informed me that the septic system had failed inspection which Steve was completely aware of but deliberately withheld so we'd pay the second half. It took several more weeks of constant follow up to get Steve to make the needed repair to have the septic system finally pass inspection and resulted in us paying the engineer for multiple inspections throughout the process. There were many dates the Speidel crew was supposed to be there and never showed up nor did they call to reschedule. Finally, the system passed and Spring was looming so we began contacting them to do the asphalt patch to our driveway. Again, they made weekly promises to do the work and each time did not show nor call. After two months of playing these games it is painfully obvious they have no intention of completing the job since they already got their money. They are very dishonest and very unprofessional in their unresponsiveness. I would not suggest them to anyone. Beware if you are considering working with them. read more

Building a retaining wall, treatment tank, cutting down trees and rerouting the main water line, just to name a few. Steve did an amazing job from start to finish. He was available to take my calls or returned my call promptly. The job was completed with great detail and an impeccable outcome. The house and the street were left without any sign of debris. Spiedel and Sons are a reliable local family run business. I ran into some issues with the town and couldn't even imagine how to remove my stairs, build up to my porch, and completely change the landscape and grade of my property. They came out multiple times to discuss what to do and made it happen. They built gorgeous natural retaining walls and built beautiful stone steps! It looks better than it did before! Then the icing on the cake was the delivery upon delivery of stone and dirt, top soil to smooth out my property and driveway to be, taking into consideration drainage as well. They seeded and put hay down and now I have a beautiful yard. I couldn't be more pleased with the way it all turned out! I would recommend them anyone! read more
