We agree on my cut, conditioner and color. My next introduction was to a very nice Technician Deana to wash my hair. A treatment was applied and I sat under the dryer. Miss Marcy came over after the bell rang and brought me to her styling chair. My cut & color was exactly the way ℹ visioned. I purchased a keratin treatment coupon from Groupon for this spa based on its high ratings there. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not checking Google reviews and trusted Groupon blindly. I have had keratin treatments multiple times, so I know how they should be done. My Groupon coupon was for $101, but the spa asked me to pay an additional $75, which I did. Surprisingly, they completed the treatment in just 30 minutes when a proper keratin treatment usually takes at least 2-3 hours. Still, I trusted their process. The real disappointment came after the first wash, 48 hours later my keratin completely washed out, and my hair returned to its original state. When I went back to the spa to address the issue, they refused to even check my hair and told me to contact Groupon instead. When I insisted that they were responsible for the poor treatment and requested a refund, they started bullying me, behaved in a racist manner, and told me to leave their property. Visit Date: December 18, 2020 I've been on the hunt for a good hairdresser ever since I stopped going to Lemon Tree and my good hairdressing relationship ended. I found out my friend Alyssa just got a job here and I try my best to support my friends so I made an appointment with her. She was unfortunately running late so I almost went with a different hairdresser but Alyssa walked into her station right before the other hairdresser was going to cut my hair and she gave me right over to Alyssa. I appreciate that this other hairdresser wasn't trying to client steal. I don't know her name but the integrity is appreciated. Alyssa is my new soul hairdresser. She's younger than I am but we still got along, we gelled over some common traits including crazy colored hair and tattoos and trainwreck behavior. I love what she did with my hair. She did a bob and it's not too short, not too long, it's slammin'. I've been box coloring my own hair but I think I'm going to come back here for color if I can budget for it and not spend money on something else. My son came with me for this appointment and he was amazing during the appointment. If I could rate this place zero stars I would! I received this haircut from the tall lady, brown hair, late thirties, in the first seat. The entire time her and the young blonde lady who washed my hair were commenting on how hungry they were and how they wanted to leave. I asked for a wolf cut and used the first picture as a reference. I also paid for the blowout as it was included in the Groupon. The results are super disappointing as It looks like shit and nothing like the picture. I mean it didn't even look like it was blown out. This is an update and I am happy to give it! This is a real wonderful salon, with a very unique feel. They use excellent color and I have gone there many times prior with excellent results. The one time I did get a root touch up with somewhat red, it was over box hair dye. I like the little smudge and candles too. The prices are fair and basically Spellbound is a Great Salon and the owner Marcy really cares and they are all so nice. The prices are VERY fair too! So I'm a tad Disappointed.. I was promised a 25% off discount via dms for an 11am appointment and told " hair cut was $30" which is fine and thought good pricing until I got there they said " nope your appointment is 11;30 and that's what we have you booked for so please wait until then " and they gave me a complimentary conditioning treatment which was nice but they were nasty at the counter ... the conditioning sucked though, being somebody who was interested in cosmo + being in multiple salons ( this is not my first time being in a salon + getting hair dyed ) the girl barley massages the conditioner into my hair, literally just applied it . Then pretty much I waited til 12 to get the hair cut . The girl cut ny hair super short which I never told her too.. I said it was already short and then she gave me this blow out which I thought was completely complimentary... but instead never once was notified I was going to be charged $20 for a blow out ... I never got my discount either so I ended up spending $50 on a decent hair cut but terrible blow out ... a bit of Disappointment and the employee communication needs to be a bit better ... I asked for what was in the picture. There was also no other stylist near enough to hear. The first thing I said was " not to short on the sides" and that's where he buzzed first. It's not very professional for someone to get online and tell customers they are in the wrong like you have on SO MANY of the complaints against your salon. I work in the beauty industry and mistakes happen- just apologize and maturely accept that some things are your fault. It's three months later and even now that my hair is grown in it's still uneven around the top. This was not a good cut- that is quit clear. I did not want to resort to writing a review, but I am displeased with the service and how the issue was handled. I went to this salon is search of a new hair cutter, so I used a Groupon. Didn't want to spend a ton of money trying a new place. I was able to make an appointment fairly quickly. I was clear in what I asked for, it was nothing drastic, just a trim on my long hair. Unfortunately my hair was very strangely cut and it looks like a five year old did it. There's a random chunk of hair that is dramatically shorter than the rest and I do not trust it to be properly fixed by the person who did this. Below is a photo for proof. In looking at reviews, it appears that the owner/manager accuses every poor review as "fake." So I'm also attaching a photo that proves I was, indeed, at this establishment for a very bad haircut. I figured it was time I did something for myself and treat myself to a new look! I had Facebook messaged the salons owner back in January 2019 showing her the picture of what my hair color was currently *as pictured below labeled "Before"* along with the picture of the color I was hoping to achieve *light brown with blonde highlights* the picture was actually one taken from the Spellbound's very own portfolio they have on their website ‍ Well I decided to make an appointment this past March 2019 (after a few conversations on Facebook messenger with the owner and her affirming my request to go from the red boxed dye hair color to the color light brown with blond highlights I was hoping to achieve was possible) and get my transformation ball rolling... I spent 8 long hours and $300 (not including the tip!) at Spellbound salon only to wake up the next day to realize I was dooped! There was no change whatsoever in the color of my hair **except for the one area/patch of hair on the back of my head near the nap of my neck as you can see in the pic below** What a deceiving, deceptive crock of bull! ***Thankfully I found Salon A&M Destiny...It ONLY Took ONE Appointment at this salon and the help of Andy (the owner) actually having the knowledge and expertise of his field of hair coloring along with having the products that maybe a bit more expensive but 1,000 times worth it on hand showed me how much he truly cares about not ripping off his clients and ...I finally have my hair color exactly how I was hoping it to be! I decided to browse Groupon a few days ago for affordable Keratin treatments and discovered a small salon called "Spellbound." I am so happy I did! "Spellbound" is homey and decorated beautifully for Valentine's Day with an old-fashioned mom-and-pop feel. In addition to hair care, they also offer home-made beauty and wellness products such as bath salts. I was very pleased with the service I received and the friendly staff was very accommodating! Marie was a great stylist. My thick frizzy hair is now silky smooth and drying time will be cut in half. This place is horrible, the lighting inside is so much darker than it is outside so the color you think you have is completely different than what it actually is, my mother had an appointment canceled on her for the fourth time in going there in about 4 months and was charged $70 extra for the length that grew out because she couldn't be accommodated due to the salons problem of not having someone to do her hair, the workers are rude on and off the phone. If you aren't going to meet Daisy or Arianna DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I actually started to wonder if any of these woman besides them are actually trained and certified. How do you mess someone's color up when the card with their color is in the back room if you don't know what you're doing? My mother went in to see Mikaela after being canceled on once again so Mikaela just didn't feel like having a conversation so completely ignored my mother after she asked if her stylist was okay, then Mikaela messed up the color after she sat in the chair for over 2 hours and all she has to say was "you can come back within a week and someone will fix it" she didn't even blow dry her hair and had her leave with wet hair because it was so badly done and her roots were completely white and she kept it wet to hide the fact that she messed up. Once again the lighting is totally wrong so your color is completely different when you walk out. This place SUCKS. read more

I set my gps with the address and I arrived a half hour early. Gia was the nice lady that did my hair, she was so sweet and accommodating. Staff was friendly enough but I came here initially irritated to find that the Lemon Tree in Levittown within the area I usually go grocery shopping was closed & this location had taken over their business. I drove here from there & found it's a pain in the butt to get to this location from the direction where I was (traveling on 107 toward Hicksville, where I'd come from). I turned at the light, found the shopping center right next to it had no road connecting to the one where this salon is attached & nearly got hit by a car coming from the other direction. I finally park my car in a tiny space in a small area to walk to the salon. I had a coupon from the old Lemon Tree location (which they graciously accepted). Apparently, though they were not going to dry my hair after shampooing it (not styling but just not leaving me with the option of a wet head or paying more money to get my hair dry). The stylist offered to cut my hair dry. I accepted. Unfortunately, I didn't quite get what I wanted. I've gotten haircuts from nicer places in Manhattan thanks to Lifebooker deals I got in the past & had a great template for any other stylist to go with. I got multiple layers in the front when I simply wanted a slight angle in the very front. I left feeling unsure of this cut since this is not a style I've ever had before & I tend to shy away from drastic changes to my hair. However, everyone who's seen it & gave me feedback assured me that I looked cute. The stylist also complimented my hair (a sure sign that the person has basic competence at doing this since natural redheads are such a rarity). Because of recent modeling opportunities, the appearance of my hair has become a lot more important than it was. If I lived in this area, I'd probably go back here since the price seems reasonable enough. Since I don't & didn't like how hard it was to get in, I think I'll just go to one of my trusted pros in Manhattan in the future. Perhaps I could even write off my hair expenses in taxes! read more

I am still growing out my hair that took years to grow which your hair stylist destroyed in a short period of time. Instead of apologizing, you spat off disgusting comments to people instead of trying to improve your customer service and improve your business. You should hire more qualified people invest in better staff products and inventory and establish a training program. And maybe greet people when they walk in the door. I wish I could give this place no stars. Took my teenage daughter here for a keratin and trim (trim, not a haircut). The stylist showed horrible technique in the keratin process which included the straight iron process which resulted in tearing of hair and pulling because of her lack of experience. As if this was not bad enough, the trim that my daughter wanted turned into a full haircut. It was agreed upon that 1/2 an inch was the amount to be trimmed, yet 3 inches was taken (see picture). After this whole disaster occurred I asked to see the amount of hair once more that was cut and she proceeded to show me two inches despite it being 1/2 an inch that was agreed to. Not only does she not know how to apply keratin, she doesn't know what 1/2 inch is. They should keep a measuring tape on hand for her. Finally, she wasn't able to style curtain bangs. The point is, it was a total disaster all around. Don't trust your tresses in the hands of these people. read more

Took no accountability and the owner was worse. Her response was "well if the length was not as expected, I don't know what to tell you." Zero empathy or desire to provide appropriate customer service. Also, did not provide the stylist cosmetology license information which is information that is supposed to be posted for customers to view according to the Appearance Enhancement Business Regulation in NY. I made a same day appointment for keratin treatment, just lucked out with the schedule. Lisa was the beautician and she did a fantastic job. While the process takes two hours, she was kind, patient and hard-working the entire time (zero down time). She was concerned about ME (who was just sitting there) as she was basically running a marathon around my head between processing, drying and flat ironing. I will definitely see her again. So far, I'm very happy with the outcome. In addition, the salon was really cute with a whole Gothic/witchy theme. Really cute place with some baubles and clothing items to peruse. I was looking for someone to do a blowout for the morning of my baby shower. I don't know of anyone around here, so I posted for recommendations on my town mom page. When recommended a few times to the same salon, I figured I would go there. There was only one recommendation of a specific person there, (Deanna) so I asked for her. I then realized that Deanna was one of the girls that recommended the place. I called and asked if she was available and they said she was not, but scheduled me with another woman by the name of Lori. I then responded to Deanna's recommendation with "I tried to make an appt with you but you were booked they said Lori was available. Hope she is good! It's my baby shower, and a good blowout is def a necessity when you feel this big! Lol" Deanna's response was that I was in good hands. After all of this, I saw that "Lori" was another one who recommended this salon. Turns out she works there too. I wrote her under her recommendation and said "I think they scheduled me with you." She never responded to me but wrote a comment under Deanna's post saying "I hope she's good too" This literally was like making jokes about my comment right in front of my face and I'm suppose to be your new client. This is rude and unprofessional. Now that I have read the reviews and the rude responses you guys give to your unsatisfied customers, it confirms the lack of customer service this salon has. Further more, the fact that the employees find these terrible reviews to be "funny" also confirms the immaturity of the salon. Had my hair done two weeks ago on a Saturday morning by Lori. She really took the time to figure out what I wanted and gave me a bunch of options. I had a lot of damage from box color, so she corrected it and gave me a half head of highlights. The cut is great too! I don't normally blow dry so a good cut is crucial. I just wash and go so the layers along with bangs make my super thin hair look way fuller than it is. I will return in a few weeks for a touch up. read more

Finally had a chance to go yesterday. Appointment was easy to make. Appointment was for 11...I arrived at 1045.. they took me early. The young woman that did my hair was friendly and professional (first chair on the right side). I forgot her name. She worked quickly and knowingly. My hair is long and thick. The entire treatment took about 2 hours. My hair came out beautiful. There was a nominal extra 10 dollar charge for the long and thick hair. I would go there again in a minute. I downloaded Yelp for the soul purpose of writing this review because of how frustrated I am. First of all, when I called to make an appointment the lady on the phone was very rude to me. I asked if they had any room for a blowout that day and they said they were super busy because prom was that day. It was a Monday...? Never heard of prom on a Monday but alright. Still she didn't answer my question if she had room so I asked again which is when she started giving me a list of available times... I though you were super busy?? Fast forward I walk in to the salon and there is only ONE client getting her hair done. Yea reaaaaaal busy lady. I check in at the front and they say I need to wait because the person doing my hair is running behind. How do you run behind when there is JUST ONE person in the salon?! When I go to the sink to get my hair washed one of the workers dumped her coffee in the sink right next to me... so gross. After being washed the lady put a later appointment in front of me and made me sit there with soaking wet hair as I waited for her to finish her later appointment just because she said my hair would take longer. I had a Groupon and when we were in the middle of the blowout she told me in addition to what I paid on the Groupon I owed her an extra $10 because I have thick hair according to her. When she finished blowing out my hair it was very puffy and I asked her to go over it with a flat iron to which she said I needed to give her more money for that because it wasn't included in the Groupon even though none of that information was actually disclosed in the Groupon. Overall this place is so unprofessional and they are a bunch of cheapskates. Save your time and money and stay FAR away from this terrible salon. I can't wait to see what the owner has to say about this review considering she claims every person who gives the salon a bad rating is writing a fake review and apparently has never been to the salon lol. I spent $22 for a blowout from Groupon knowing additional fees will apply for long hair. The stylist asked how I wanted my hair blown out and I always ask for curls on the bottom. Most stylists use a brush and hairdryer to create the curls, this one didn't. She used a curling iron (I did not ask for it). When it was time to pay, the woman at the desk was charging me $10 for long hair and $38 for curls, in addition to the Groupon; a TOTAL of $70!! What salon charges $70 for a blowout? Spellbound does.
