There is plenty of parking available outside. The restrooms are very nice and clean. We visited the bar that is open to the public (until 11) and were impressed with our time there. The staff was very friendly. There are high top tables, shorter tables, comfy chairs and t.v.s to watch any sports games that are on. We enjoyed the atmosphere here and will stop here the next time that we are in town too.

My family was on vacation in Okoboji and decided renting a boat wasn't in the cards for us this trip-- but taking an excursion on the Queen II definitely was. Boy, am I glad we did! The open-air upper deck was just what we needed (the lower deck is inclosed). Pricing may be a bit steep? But it is no fuss, clean, has a good offering of refreshments, open to all ages, and it is actually quite fun to hear about the different parts of the lake via the narrative throughout. The Queen II was recently (last year or so) repaired/refreshed and it definitely shows. Overall, I'd do the Queen II again (even though I have frequented the lake decades of my life). And if you're new to the area, I definitely recommend you do so as well!

We rented a very nice pontoon boat for 3 hours on Monday August 10th. The boat was nice and…read morecomfortable however the top speed was 10 miles per hour. We were very disappointed. Not that we wanted to go very fast but faster than 10 miles per hour would have been nice. I called the office back and we went back and the guys looked at the motor. They said nothing was wrong with the boat and that pontoon boats typically go slow and I understand that but NOT THAT slow. If i would have known that I wouldn't have booked this boat. When we returned it was awkward. None of the staff would talk to us. When we left I said thank you and goodbye and then they said thank you. They never said sorry or really tried to make it right with us. On the boat ride we witnessed other pontoon boats flying past us. If it was a busy day on the lake it would have been dangerous going at that slow of a speed.

My brother also worked here for a time during his summer job for the Iowa State Department of Natural Resources. Pike's Point is a small park and consists of very nice beachfront on West Lake Okoboji, a lodge building and various picnic and green space areas. The swimming area is marked off and the really neat feature is the swimming platform. My son and I have come here for years and pushed each other off that platform, skipped rocks by the beach, and just hung out. Please also check out Blue Water Studios in Arnolds Park for some neat pictures of Pike's Point and surrounding Okoboji locations. I particularly like the winter shots.

There is a parking lot and a staircase down to the water. Multiple picnic tables and grills for families to enjoy a cookout. There is even a covered stone section where you can build a fire, but there was a lot of garbage and dead fish around from people that didn't dispose of their rubbish correctly. I had taken off my shoes and waded into the cool clear water with another group and on my walk out I saw dead fish heads in multiple areas. Sad that there are some that cannot clean up but this is still a nice little (FREE) hidden area to enjoy a day with friends or even alone. Plenty of shade in sections too.

We always enjoy coming to Emerson Bay Campground. Lots of sights with different hookups…read more I do wish people would treat this park better. We pay for this park through our tax dollars, why won't you want to keep it clean. The state doesn't have the staff or money to hire people to pickup after all the campers. When we pulled into site 56 I picked up a grocery sack of garbage and the fire pits had trash in it. Thanks to the De Jong family for not caring enough to clean up the site when you left.
