Ghosted. I called them and they came to look at the area where I wanted a patio and sent me a quote. The quote was pretty much blank except for their prices, but it also had a bunch of fields that made no sense. I called and asked the rep for clarification, especially the section about adding a lien on the property. he had no idea what to put into those fields. I want to make sure I know what I'm signing for and I'm not leaving any of those unknown fields empty. They didn't get back to me. I called a few times and left voicemails, emails and nothing. I called their phone number and talked to someone in a call center and no one has gotten back to me. It's a big red flag when I question their form and they don't respond. Spencer Concrete installed a stamped concrete patio at my home and within months it began chipping. After our project manager came out to investigate, he determined it was faulty concrete and agreed to have it replaced. We were very flexible with the timing, leaving it up to them, as to not eat into their busy season. However, every year it continues to degrade and they will not return any calls or emails. Very disappointing that their word could not be trusted and we are left with a large expense when we decide to replace it. read more

What a horrible experience all around! We paid almost $3k for a patio in June, which they had sealed multiple helicopter seeds into it and started popping out of the concrete. We have been calling since July to try to talk to someone! The number goes to a third party answering company and we never received a call back. I went in person to try to talk to someone, which ultimately was a dead end. The receptionist was so rude and unhelpful; she claims it is the fault of mother nature and us for "not keeping the patio clear", even though the seeds were embedded into the concrete, obviously not something we did, but negligence of the company. We had asked prior to the patio being poured if there was anything we could do to prevent this exact situation, and was told no. When they came back out a couple days later to seal the patio, my husband and I were both at work. We were contacted after the patio was sealed, my husband asked again if we needed to do anything with it and we were told no and it was good to go. The receptionist claims Ethan would never leave leaves/seeds and just seal over them, well obviously he did based on the pictures. There are holes everywhere in our patio, and multiple helicopters literally stuck into the concrete, we're talking 50+. I was told that this is not their fault and pretty much too bad. Even with a warranty, they are not going to do anything, what a scam. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone and tell everyone I know to stay away. In 2024, we hired Spencer Concrete after bidding the concrete projects with a few concrete contractors from the Fox Valley. Our concrete project was in Appleton, so we got estimates from a concrete contractors in Appleton, Oshkosh and one from Green Bay. Spencer Concrete bid for the concrete driveway was right in the middle for price compared to the other contractors, and the stamped concrete was the highest price but their work looked substantially better than the others. The concrete work Spencer Concrete provided, proved we made the right decision with choosing the right concrete contractor. Not only was the work exactly what we were looking for but the customer services was awesome too. The driveway ended up being pitched just right, and I really liked the flexible forms they used to make it curved in areas. The stamped concrete patio is timeless! We chose to go with a Belgium slate stamp where it looks like a big piece of natural stone. I feel we made all the right decisions with this project, usually that doesn't happen. In October I got a quote from Spencer Concrete to put a patio on the baack of my home. They took the job. The workmen who came out worked hard on prepping the area, digging up and removing shrubs and clumps of grass to make the patio the size I requested. Then they set the forms and poured the concrete. The patio and stamping came out loveoly. But that was wwhere it stopped. When the forms were removed they left piles of gravel and dirt around the patio. During the prep work they had needed to remove edging that had previously been around the deck that had been removed, but did not remove it. It sticks out at the base of the patio and looks aweful. When they removed the forms it became apparent that they had no intention of coming back and cleaning up their debris. I called and complained. They sent one guy out who took some pictures, said he was taking them back to Gil & Gil would call me the next day - well that did not happen. I then called Gil, and what a surprise, it went to voice mail and he never returned my call. I still have piles of grave and dirt sitting all around the base of the patio. I also have clumps of grass that they left sitting there that have been cemented to the ground as when they poured the concrete it run under the forms and secured the grass scups in place in my yard. I certainly did not expect them to landscape the area around the patio, but I did not expect them to leave debris there for me to have to hire someone else to clean up. I also did not expect to find cigarette butts all around my backyard after they left the worksite. One would think that with the cost of a patio they could afford to teach their crews how to clean up the worksite afterward. I am an older woman I felt like they really took advantage of me. All they had to do was give the patio a clean cut all the way around the base and take their unwanted debris with them. I would not reccommend them to anyone do to the way I was treated. 10 years ago i had Spencer concrete did a small strip of concrete between our driveway and house. I had asked the owner if I should do any mud jacking before the work and he was against it. Also some friends whom I had talked to before going "professional" recommended that I drill into the existing slab and rebar reinforce the new slab to the existing driveway, again the owner was against doing this. Long story short, since then every year the slab becomes more uneven with the existing driveway and creates a puddle that soon after made its way into our basement. Now im not accusing Spencer concrete of flooding my basement but after having 3 professional basement inspectors come over to my house, all commented on the two past easy fixeds for my flooding which were mud jacking the driveway and rebarring the two slabs together. I have 3 more gripes about their service but this would get lengthy so I will leave it with my biggest complaints and just give them the 2 stars, the same as the service they give you. read more

When we started our project we were excited to work with Spencer Concrete. He appeared professional and quoted us a fair price. That is about where the "good" of the project ended. Time lines were not met, with no communication. When we finally questioned it he stated he had a labor shortage, okay, we can understand that. When they finally did start working, they destroyed our yard, which part of is understandable, but instead of driving their heavy equipment on the shortest path to the back yard, they took out half of our side yard. (It cost us a considerable amount of money and took almost a year to repair the damage they did.) As soon as the project was done we could see numerous flaws with their work. They didn't complete matching cuts in the stamped concrete, in addition there was a very large area of the concrete that the "stamping" didn't work. We called immediately, Spencer told us he would come look and make it right. He never showed - he sent someone else (his wife maybe?) that said - "Well that happens sometimes if it is hot out. Sorry." She did knock off a VERY small amount of our large bill. And told us if we had problems with it to reach out. We have been reaching out - for the last two years. The area that they didn't stamp properly pools with water all year. The concrete itself is already chipping and chunks are falling out. Spencer has told my husband more than once that he will come look at it and make it right, but that has never happened. I would recommend staying far, far away from them. read more
