Hallmark is certainly a big fish in a little pond, but the folks that own Hallmark shops are little fish in an ocean. Even though they have the advantage of using the Hallmark brand name, the commercials and movies that make you cry, Shoebox and Maxine greeting cards, it is still their business to personalize it and make it work. I have been inside of wee Hallmark stores, where you almost forget it is a Hallmark shop because it is so tiny and personal. Norman's Hallmark inside of the Neshaminy Mall is a very large, clean and organized shop with cards, gifts and keepsakes galore. I have met Norman many times and his mother who owns this shop. They both have rang up my orders after helping me if I needed it and have been very friendly. Norman's mom now owns seven Hallmark stores, which amazes me, does that make her a Hallmark tycoon? I think it makes her one smart business woman and I say kudos to her and her ambition. This store is the closest Hallmark shop to my house. They carry anything Hallmark that you would be looking for and with clean wide aisles. From cards, to candles, gag gifts for those over the hill folks, seasonal decorations, flags and attractive gift ideas, including baby items. I wanted sconces that would hold taper candles, not the electric sort that leave you having to hide the trailing cord. So I decide to run to Sweet Magnolia to replace a candle that had recently burnt out completely when, lo and behold!, there is the most gorgeous pair of gold-leafed wall sconces hanging right before my eyes! This is why I love Sweet Magnolia - you can find such elegant pieces here when you least expect it. I also appreciate that their prices don't put a huge dent in your wallet. $58 for the pair? I'll take them! The store also carries the greatest soy candles ever by Aquiesse which last a rather long time and come in several delightful fragrances. They also carry an array of other home goods - Forte teas, place settings, bath and body products, stationery, baby gifts, and jewelry. Definitely a great little shop for finding last minute gifts or a treat for yourself. I've seen similar items at other stores like Anthropologie for twice the price, so why not patronize a local entrepreneur instead?

Neshaminy Mall is a dead mall with an unclear future. Externally, it looks like the ownership of…read morethe mall and the anchors are not keeping up with the landscaping and maintenance. The interior of the mall is largely dead, with one stand left in the food court, and portions of the seating being roped off. Part of the interior was sealed off leading to the AMC, but this has since been reopened after complaints. What's left here? Largely the anchors including the AMC, Boscov's, and the Barns & Noble. A handful of other stores remain, but these are far and few between. Essentially, you don't need to waste your time coming here unless you have very specific needs. With several redevelopment proposals made/stalled out/cancelled depending on what you read, Neshaminy Mall could be closed tomorrow or still open years from now.

Grabbed a vest off the rack, and went inside... greeted cheerfully by staff. Asked if I wanted to try on vest, so I did. Was surprisingly offered to be shown like 3 different ways to wear it. I was in a hurry so I didn't really get to look around. Traffic was steady with people constantly coming in. Staff were very polite, helpful and engaging. I'm not one to shop much for clothing but I'd come back here if I'm in the area again. Beautiful clothing displays and accessories. I honestly can't wait to get back to take a thorough look.

She (I wish I actually got her name!) was super personable and the type of store owner who you can spend more time chatting with than actually buying items. Alas, I didn't walk out empty-handed. I found a super cute stuffed turkey for $6, and my mom left with a peppermint Christmas tree (which she nabbed before I could!). Definitely stop in here if you're shopping around Mill Race Village. It may be tiny-tiny, but it's so worth browsing if you like cutesy things.
