The prices here are hefty to put it one way. I saw shoes priced at $180, $220 and I don't even want to remember the other price tags. It seemed quite out of place for the shopping centre that it is in. The other shops in the centre are relatively cheap but this store was quite over the top. The shoes were quite original though. There were brightly coloured wedges, sandals, heels contrasted with plain coloured of different styles. There was a large range too. As well as shoes they stock a variety of luxury handbags - also with 'luxury' prices. The bags were very beautiful but not deserving of such prices, which is why I have docked a star off. The staff in here seem to target people who look like they have money. They latched quickly onto the elder ladies in the store while ignoring me - the younger person in jeans and a jumper looking at the pink and yellow wedges. Fair enough I didn't have any money so their assumption was right but it still isn't very nice to be treated that way. Goodbye second star.

Yeah, there are better places, be they cheaper, better quality, better service, but not many have the right combination of service, quality and price, and I reckon this place does well.

The shoes are beautifully presented in store and they feel even better on your feet. The staff here are not the best however. They will smile and greet you on the way in but then will mostly stand behind a little counter and follow you around the store with their eyes. When the store is busy this isn't that noticeable but when you go in by yourself it makes for a very uncomfortable shopping experience. When you do get them to assist you with sizes they tend to be quite pushy and like reminding you that sale stock will not come back and that it is likely your last chance to buy them. This gets annoying. The prices are very high and I only tend to buy shoes from here if I am 100% sure that I will wear them multiple times a week, at least. They do have some great designs so I am often tempted.

Many shoe stores I've visited rarely stocked orthopedic footwear- the only exception being the podiatrist clinic. Unfortunately, there is not much selection in design in such places. While my primary aim was to find orthopedic sandals, I also had a strong preference with ones with pretty designs. Although I have a foot problem, I don't necessarily want to advertise it to the world! Some footwear brands, such as Vionic and Orthaheel, offer this extra feature. I like the illusion of wearing cute sandals that don't look like orthopedic crutches. If I'm going to be spending extra money on special sandals, they best look nice! In actuality, I didn't have to spend extra money for nice sandals at The Walking Company! They were having a sale and much of their shoe prices were reduced. A pair of Ahnu sandals that originally costed $149 were on sale for only $89. The prices are still a little steep for me, but most orthopedic footwear is expensive. This was a pretty good deal. Also, they have a return/exchange policy that's pretty good. You can try out the shoes and see how it feels at home for a few days, and if it's not the right fit you are welcome to return it. The staff was really helpful and friendly! I am probably the most indecisive person in the world! It takes a while for me to decide what I really want. When it comes to making a decision that's going to affect your daily life (i.e. shoes, sandals), you want to make sure it's a worthy investment, right? The lady helping me was very attentive and wasn't put off by my lack of decision-making skills. After spending a while deciding between all the options, I decided to check out the Ahnu sandals. It can definitely be difficult to find shoes that's just the right fit. If you want a wide selection of footwear, I would definitely recommend this place. They cater to both men and women. You get the vibe that this place still has that old world customer service that died along time ago in retail. We've been here four or five times now and it's been perfect every time.
