Throughout the year, different types of memorabilia are on display to the public before being auctioned. During my visit, I saw a wide variety of memorabilia from the Jim Irsay Collection. This included movie props, screenplays, music, sports, and autographs. I was especially impressed when I witnessed the Golden Ticket, a signed Babe Ruth baseball, and The Beatles drumset. Admission is free and complimentary cookies and coffee are served in the lobby. Due to the value of the merchandise, all visitors must pass through a metal detector. Large size bags are not allowed in the gallery, but they may be left at the Coat Check. The only disadvantage is that the exhibitions are temporary. Knowing the name, but not too familiar with his art, I was curious about the Paul Klee exhibit at…read morethe Jewish Museum. So I popped in last Saturday. It's a two-fold reason why the museum charges no admission every Saturday: 1) their intent is to make exhibits accessible to everyone, and 2) this aligns with the principle of no exchange of money on Shabbat. As such, the gift shop and basement cafe are both closed then. A juxtaposition of exhibits, Joan Semmel's work with themes of body and intimacy, is on the ground floor. Interesting! As well as other exhibits that I hadn't previously seen. I was unexpectedly there for a couple of hours. I was pleased to see people of different heritages enjoying the museum. It's a worthwhile visit, and now that it's warming up you might want to stroll through Central Park across the street, afterwards.

The exhibit was well arranged and focused on the political side of his work -- I had not previously understood that he was one of the targets of the Nazi campaign against degenerate art, and many of his works beginning in the early 1930.s first in Germany and then in exile in Switzerland. was devoted to indirect or very direct criticisms of Nazi ideology. we also enjoyed the extensive display of menorahs. This is an amazing gallery!…read more They are VERY strict about bringing any liquids into the museum and will make you dump all - even sealed containers. This gallery contains early 20th century German and Austrian art. The most famous item is likely Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer, made famous in the movie The Lady in Gold. The portrait is breathtaking to see in person as are the many other Klimt works of art in the gallery. The gallery holds more than paintings. There are clocks, ceramics, items of furniture, jewelry, posters, and more including works from the creation of the Bauhaus tradition. I highly recommend a visit to this amazing gallery. There is also a care and restaurant, though I did not eat during my visit. There are two gift shops. One is small and focuses on high end items complementing the collections. The other is more typical of a museum gift shop and includes books, knick knacks, etc. I collect playing cards and was excited to find a Neue Gallery set of playing cards for the bargain price of $34. No photos of any kind allowed.

The piece was oversized, and he was able to accommodate it without any issues, which I really appreciated. He was also very communicative, even texting progress photos to make sure we were happy with how everything was coming together. That level of care and attention made the whole experience feel thoughtful and personalized. To top it off, he personally dropped the painting off at our apartment -- which was such a huge help given the size. I'll absolutely be coming back for all my future framing needs. Di…read moreDonna Galleries specializes in museum-quality exhibitions and sales of European and American art from 1900 to 1970, with an emphasis on surrealism. They were founded in 2010 and moved into their current space on Madison Avenue at East 64th in 2016. (Love to visit art museums when you visit NYC? Don't sleep on the city's art galleries. Because Di Donna's exhibits are as museum-quality as they promise on their website.) Here's how it works. It's free to visit. (FYI they are closed on Sundays.) You'll walk up to a white door on Madison Avenue (it's marked to let you know you're in the right place) and press a call button. Then you'll be let into a hallway and you'll walk down it to the elevator which you take to Di Donna's floor. Then you walk into a small but intimate and modern gallery space (about three separate gallery rooms). It's free to visit, and there were a few staff members at a desk to answer questions and selling an exhibition catalogue. The exhibit I saw on Saturday (which closes on June 13, 2026) was Dalí: The Great Years. The exhibit was great. Many of the pieces were on loan from the Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida. Since I've never been there, I probably hadn't seen any of them before unless they'd been loaned out for other exhibits I saw in the past. The exhibit was well-organized (it is chronological so it was easy to know where to start, where to go next, and where to finish) and had helpful information to read while exploring the galleries. I had a great time at Di Donna, and I've already signed up for their email list so I'll know when their next great exhibit opens!

I was trilled because I love Soap Operas. This event was an hour, but went a little over and still had time for Q&A which I like, but didn't know it was going to take place. At the end of event you could purchase the book and it was also a book signing by the authors which I didn't participate in. Whom ever design the bathroom needs to take a bow because I couldn't stop gushing over it. The only problem I have with the bathroom is no toilet seat covers installed inside. The bathroom was spotless and they have a little closet within the bathroom so, if there is a lack of supplies an employee can get it right away. The staff here was great very helpful and super nice from Male Host, to the Coat Checker which I don't know why the ad kept saying limited space so there might not be enough room so don't bring big bags, that room was spacious to me because I even seen a little closet for "Lost And Found". I was a Coat Checker myself so this great to see. Now, the reason why I gave it four stars instead of five because I seen a mouse and discreetly told an employee and she said to me that I'm so sorry. I was shocked because I thought she was going to say "I'll tell someone right away". She showed so much empathy towards the situation, you come to an event not to see another show as well. A Spring Palette In…read moremid April, shortly before Easter, Carolyn at the dining room of The National Arts Club led me to the familiar corner next to a row of early American paintings. With a warm smile, she asked, "You like the table with light?" Yes, the well lit table between the image of a young lady and that of a pastural landscape was a fine choice for the evening. While absorbed by the bubbles rising in the narrow wine glass, I noticed in the distance the slender manager Vincent. He brought with him two freshly prepared dishes. The young manager, originally from Paris, had a surprise for me, for he turned the white canvas of my table into a spring palette of jovial colors. In front of me, the poached halibut was transformed by three delicate zucchini blossoms. The blonde ensemble over the white fish sat on a bed of spinach cornered by sliced red beets. On my right side, there was the plate of emerald broccolini. Vincent credited the new design to chef Alex. Looking at the perfect creation, I asked, "How can I destroy it?" Vincent said, "You have to." The taste of the evolving sculpture was as perfect as its image, for the fish was tender and fresh, never over cooked or seasoned. Carolyn said, "See you soon." Indeed, I will return to greet the new palette.
