The park was small, clean, with benches, picnic tables and a small little gazebo. As I arrived, there were people gathered near the gazebo, looked like from a local church, a choir practice; thanks to them, the difficulty of eating dinner without my mom, and the music provided a great comfort, for a happy/sad day for me. If you find yourself not wanting to eat in a resturant, always check on YELP or google for a local park, as one never knows the serenity youll find in a small town park.

My boyfriend and I booked a one hour trail ride for a Saturday morning while we were visiting the Keuka Lake area. The team at Mountain Rose communicated effectively with us about moving our ride to the afternoon to miss the rain moving in. We had the most incredible afternoon. From the moment we arrived at the farm, we were transported into something of a movie. The staff, the horses, the fairytale-esque riding trails; everything was outstanding. 100% recommend for couples, girls trips, nature lovers; everyone and anyone looking to try something new. This was a great change of pace to the everyday.

My kids LOVED the greeting by Lucas, the enormous goat, and playing with the kittens. Oh, and of course the horses and trail ride! We got a brief lesson to start and then road for about an hour through fields and woods. We had several first time riders and they all enjoyed their experience. Max 4 riders per session. I thought it was funny to take pictures of them all, but got bored at 20. Falls were okay. Nature is something we often find a lot of beauty in, but this park was surrounded by those unfriendly signs. The parking lot was really just a dead end road. The hiking path is more like a slightly worn deer trail, with poor views of the falls. The end has a narrow and slick ledge that leads to a slightly better view. If you fancy a short hike just for the hike, sure. I wouldn't spend my time here with so many other fantastic parks and falls.

This weekend, I got my first (used) kayak! Thrilled that everyone who works here knows about the products they sell and is eager to help others start an activity or upgrade. Very impressed by their willingness to buy back items so you can upgrade to the next best thing. And you can test out all the boats and boards on the wee pond out back. I would pay a bit more for this kind of service but actually spent less than the big box. Love love love supporting a small business! Was crazy busy so we had to be patient but no biggie. I bought my first pair of boots from them six years ago and haven't needed to come back! My sister gave me a gift card and they didn't have anything in stock that I wanted so they let me browse their vendor catalogs. I ended up getting a pair of Cobb hill boots and my goodness have they held up! I've had to change out the laces, and the heel is starting to wear down but they still look great and professional for winter office wear! Mind you I wore these almost everyday some seasons with a .75 mile walk each way into the office from my parking lot. I'm just amazed by the quality of product that they have in stock. I've never had a pair of dress boots last like that! So because of my great experience we went again to look for shoes for my husband while we were back in the area visiting family (we now live about an hour away). Unfortunately they didn't have a great selection of dress shoes for men, so we didn't end up getting anything. We would have opted to order again but since we lived far away and it would have required us to drive back another day, we didn't. I almost got another pair of boots though (even though I don't need them). The only thing that's odd is how they sit down next to your feet while you try on the boots... oh well.
