The north campsite (tent camping site) was at the end of the looped road and it was quite with no other regular traffics. The maximum capacity would be about 10. There were plenty of shades in the campsite, but lots of caterpillars coming down from the trees. We did not see any mosquitoes until the very last day. My neighbor camper told me that he saw a few ticks on his dog, so yes, ticks on this campsite. The bathroom was kept clean and well maintained. Hot water is available in the bathroom for shower. The ranger/facility manager Tori was extremely friendly, responsive and informative. She drove by to check on the campers early in the morning as well as around evening daily. Woods were $5 per bundle and it was one of the generous place I have ever purchased woods for campfire. Each bundle came with at least 20 good sized of woods! Overall this State Park was very quite and slow traffic, great for family with little kids so the little kids could run around without worrying about being hit by cars.

The biggest downside of this place though is that there must be a lot of irresponsible dog owners come and visit with their Fidos. You gotta watch your step, especially when you get distracted by the scenery in front of you so beautiful... With this warning in mind, you can enjoy the place 80%.

Checkin process was efficient. the pet carrier was like new, withplenty of airflow. We could have the top covered to keep out the sun or while biking along the shadier parts, open for the dogs to have more "View". This was a new experience for all of us. We decided to rent the bigger bikes which have lots more features & could hold all our gear. There is a basket attached to the front of the bike & it has a bag in it to store plenty of items you want handy..They do have a more standard bike, but we think the bigger one was the right way to go- we could adjust the handlebars to suit us & it has a rack on the back for a cooler (or if you have toddlers, apparently you can get it set up with Child seats for one or two to ride there). The trail is a nice, groomed one with plenty of benches along the route. There is a nice large park with picnic tables along the creek & there is a terrific waterfall that you can walk alongside of on a set of stairs. Ebikes are definitely the way to travel this trail so that you have time to take advantage of all the sights & then zip back if need be. There are no "services" other than washrooms along the way, so you need to take water & snacks to last the day. When we returned the bikes at the end of the day, Kim took the time to engage in a pleasant conversation

There are some truly beautiful old trees here and I really enjoyed the old woods part of the property down the hill. It was very quiet and peaceful and the land has certainly retained it's natural beauty. I was sad the nature center was closed, I always love a good nature center. I'm glad we visited this place it has a lot to offer from trails, the nature center, local art work in the woods, a pond to enjoy the scenic views, and the peace and beauty of nature. There is a map at the main parking lot that makes it easy to figure out where you are going and trails are marked with paint on tree trunks. It is the perfect spot to hike for a few miles with your dog after work. So grateful this beautiful hiking area is so close to town!

I spent a lot of time in this park growing up because it was so close to my house. In a relatively…read moresmall town like Corning, it had so much to offer me at different stages of my life. It was one of the first places I could bike to when I was old enough to ride beyond my block or skate through with friends and family to take a swim at the public pool. It offered me a route to run around when I was conditioning for volleyball and tennis season. Speaking of tennis, although the courts were rough, I spent many summers out here practicing with my siblings to stay competitive for 4 years of varsity tennis. Beyond high school, I found myself coming back to play tag football or soccer with family in post Thanksgiving dinner tradition, to practice my photography skills by the water, and eventually a place to escape to, with my now-husband, where we would take long walks cutting through the tunnel to Market Street for the sake of getting out. Lots of great memories in this park that always seemed to have something to do at every stage in my life.
