UPDATE (7-12-19): Doreen has manipulated us and has totally disregarded everything we've discussed in the last 6 months. Just yesterday we had someone smoking crack outside our building. Disgusting... Someone was shooting up around the corner. By the time the property manager did anything the guy had spent 4 hours on the property, making drugs and left by the time the cops showed up. We have security on site for no reason... ---- New resident at 1600 north Broadway be very careful! Don't come here Extremely dissatisfied with your property management skills. You guys have left us hanging for weeks now. Doreen the appointed property manager is horrible at communicating with new companies moving in. She hasn't been able to provide us with an address, because the one on the lease is already someone else's address in the building. As a property manager, how could you even make a mistake like that and not lose your job. You guys put way too much trust and faith into Doreen. She represents your company horribly. Because she can't even represent herself. Her secretary didn't pick up the phone once on us neither has she. She doesn't get back to anyone in a timely fashion. Not myself or the owner of our company. On top of all this we weren't provided keys for the mezzanine floor bathroom. And the first floor restrooms are out of order due to your lack of management. You guys haven't fixed a thing about this building and it's disgusting. We are extremely concerned about the next four years a head of us with your management company and we really hope everything works out because as of right now, it looks like Doreen needs to lose her job. Or learn how to communicate better. We will start showing up at your office for help, since no one at your office can pick up a phone and communicate. read more

We've been renting at 1600 North Broadway, Santa Ana, CA 92706 for over 6 months now and it's been a roller-coaster of lies and deceits coming from the property management represented by Doreen in our communications. That above all is a reason not to rate this company at all. The one star of this review is there because Yelp doesn't allow for less, but trust me 1 on a scale of 1 to 5 is being generous. This place is not remotely close to the 20% of our expectations implied in 1 star ratings. Not sure where to begin with this place. The location is the most insecure environment you can place yourself your employees and customers in. We've had meth addicts in the parking structure living for months without the issue being addressed. Car tires of our employees slashed. Constant noise and disturbances. One of our associates was insulted and harassed by one of these "residents". Not sure how this company has lasted so long, their practices of managing a property is an embarrassment. Doreen the property manager at 1600 north broadway, santa ana. Has done a horrible job being in communication with us and has made this a nightmare. As tenants of the building, we probably pay more in rent than anyone else there. Yet we get treated like we are last on their list Doreen will make you feel like she's there to help you but at the end of the day she's lining her pockets up with money to go on all these trips she goes on every weekend. She's never helped us with our requests, she just makes it more difficult for us to work with the landlord. She feeds lies over to the landlord and then feeds us different lies. This women must be stopped and fired, she shouldn't represent sperry commercial at all! read more

It is my pleasure to recommend Sperry Commercial's Property Management Division. It has been a great 15 years since hiring Sperry's team on my project. Prior to Sperry taking point, management has always been somewhat disorganized and inconsistent. However, Sperry was able to right the property and streamline operations to quality commercial standards. I believe a big component to their success is due to their mindset of "We think like owners because we are owners". Sperry does not consider taking any action that they would not take on their own assets. This mentality is very refreshing because typically other property management firms would not think to strictly put themselves in the owners' shoes. Of course, problems will always arise no matter the firm. However, from record keeping, tenant negotiation, rent collection, lease structuring to refinancing, Sperry's Property Management has always been on top of it. Typically, issues have either been resolved/mitigated, or there is already a plan in place before the news reaches my ears. I have always been able to rely on the team's judgement and plans and feel safe to leave the property in their hands. For the reasons above, again, I thank Sperry's Property Management Division for the years of service, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is need of a top tier and highly capable firm to manage their assets. We have been at this property for the last 8 years. Parking access is available. The management does an incredible job maintaining and supervising this building. It is also very close to all major businesses in Santa Ana, for us, that means the Court House. Whenever we have requested any assistance, we have received it promptly. Sperry Commercial is an outstanding company with fine management. They have an excellent reputation as an efficient, ethical company that does very well by its clients. I am surprised at the negative reviews from the one location; perhaps the tenants have not communicated their grievances or have not taken the time to escalate their complaints. I wouldn't do business with this company based on my experience with Jim and Heather who both work here as vice presidents. They both screwed me and my roommates out of over $1200. Jim even acknowledged it was illegal to charge us anything after taking longer than 21 days to send us a security deposit or itemized charges and still did it anyway! If you're looking to do business with somebody who has integrity and won't back out on a contract or screw you over at every opportunity, I would avoid business with those two, or any company that would employ them at such a high level. read more

Be careful if doing any business with Sperry! Be even more careful if you have to deal with Doreen G. I would heavily do your research before dealing with Sperry! If you are going to move into an office space managed by this group I suggest you run for the hills. Doreen is the most dishonest property manager I have ever had to deal with. She manages the property at 1600 N Broadway, Santa Ana CA 92706 and will flat out lie to your face, ignore your calls and requests even if it's an emergency. We have been verbally threatened by NAI Capital's leasing agent Steve and let Doreen know that we don't feel safe here anymore and she assured us that she would take care of the issue and talk to owner of the building and it was not acceptable. Then the same Agents from NAI capital have been showing the building and send random strangers into our unit during business hours unannounced. We brought this to Doreen and the property owner Jack's attention and they agreed this is in breach of our lease agreement and that something would be done to assure our safety at 1600 N Broadway Santa Ana. CA 92706 however Doreen manipulated in a very deceptive fashion and came back weeks later with a generic email apologizing for all of the times that the ball was dropped. We are disgusted by the level of professionalism of Sperry Commercial and Doreen. Be extremely cautious if doing any business with this group of people, they will promise you the world to get you locked in a lease and will not deliver on any of the promises. They don't care for your safety or employees safety. We already feel unsafe with all the drug addicts and homeless people who live in the garage but now we fear the people that Sperry works with because of the verbal threats made. read more

This review is in regards to a telephone experience I just had with them. I represent a property management company, and a guy called me today to ask about my vacant office space for a commercial building. He spoke really fast, didn't catch his name unfortunately (or I would file a formal complaint) but he did say the company name. I've never heard of Sperry Commercial before. I asked him what kind of business it was and how he heard from us, but he kept ignoring my question because he sounded like he was too busy trying to follow a script. Mind you, I'm being polite and letting him finish because at this point I still didn't know who he was. I ask one more time if this was a solicitation for listing information, and the guy literally SIGHS and then hangs up on me! I was shocked. I called the number back (standard number with local area code) and it rings a 1-2 times and then goes straight to voicemail mid-ring. In my experience, that's a sign of someone choosing to refuse a call. Then what happens next? I get another call immediately after I hang up from a different number, and now it's a girl from the same company! Literally same time-stamp in call log (same exact minute). She says her introduction, and I explain to her that someone just called me regarding the same exact thing and they hung up on me and I believe they refused my call back, and she just hesitates and denies knowing anything. Sure, it could be a crazy coincidence that two people from the same company call me back-to-back within a minute without either of them knowing, but I find it much more likely that the first guy got caught being very unprofessional and the girl was calling to help change the direction of the call. To her credit, she was much more professional and courteous, and she understood that we did not need her services and we parted ways amicably. Regardless, that first guy was so rude that I will make sure that if I ever run into anyone that mentions Sperry Commercial, I will make sure they hear my story. read more

I'm a longtime client with Sperry for property management and leasing and cannot say enough nice things about them. It's pretty rare that I have complete trust in a company, but they've proven to me time and time again that they're the best in the business. Their knowledge and passion give me complete confidence and I sleep soundly knowing my properties are taken care of. Whenever there is a vacancy at a property, they get it leased up quickly. The staff is kind and courteous and gets back to me promptly on any questions. Very happy with them. read more
