Ok so I've been missing for a while. I moved from Toronto to Kamloops. Its like moving from NYC to Bellingham Washington, you get the idea? So he I'm reviewing again. Kamloops has around 8-9 Indian restaurants. I'm East Indian I crave Indian food whenever I'm drunk. This place has the best Indian food in Kamloops. I've tried butter chicken, Palak paneer, Shahi paneer, goat curry, naan, tandoori chicken pakoras. This is decent faire. Actually I've of the better Indian restaurants I've tried. And I've tried a lot. Its better than most of the Surrey joints. Make sure you can handle the heat if you order medium hot. Owners are nice and polite. Its hell expensive though. But being in Kamloops Ill pay top dollar for good Indian food. read more

Fantastic food and great service. 4 stars only because whenever I come for the buffet, there is barely anything in it. If you order à la carte, it is fantastic. Garlic naan is to die for as is the Shahi paneer and vegetable korma. Easy parking. Very expensive. read more

We went to this place as it was close to our hotel for dinner. The food was good. We ordered daal and two vegetarian dishes. It was enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Parking is not an issue. There is plenty of parking in the complex. The ambience is very nice. Lot of traditional Indian decorations. The only complaint I have is that the starter we ordered (Samosa) was very very oily. I wouldn't recommend that at all. I think yr was refried because of which it had so much oil. read more

I have eaten here several times, and keep coming back.The lunch buffet is good, though not the best I have had, it is a fairly good value. This evening I had the Vegetarian Combo which I enjoyed very much. A nice selection with enough left over for a small meal on the road tomorrow. read more

Like some other reviewers I've lived in areas with a lot of Indian restaurants so I know there's a wide spectrum of quality and taste. Spice Kamloops just didn't do it for me. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan bread and the taste was not so nice. The curry was not creamy at all so you couldn't dip your Naan bread in it. On a positive note the owners are nice and stayed open an extra 10 minutes so we could pick up our order after a long drive. read more

My wife and I consider ourselves Indian food afficiandos as we live in Redmond, WA were Indian restaurants are on every corner. The server was very friendly but slow to respond to our requests. The food was mediocre at best. We got a veggie combo and tandoori chicken salad which was very dry. The lassi however was great. I'm not sure if there are many Indian options around here, but if you are used to great Indian food, I would choose a different place. read more

Probably the best restaurant in the city for East Indian cuisine. Every ingredient is fresh and expertly prepared. The food is authentic and the service is always friendly and fast. This is a family owned business and their passion and caring goes into each and every dish. If the 'spice level' is too high or low for you, they are happy to prepare the dish again to your liking. This is one of my favourite places to dine out and it's in my list of top 5 restaurants in Kamloops. The prices are moderate to high but it is worth it if you want a fresh meal and friendly fast service. read more

Hands down best Indian food in Kamloops. Always very welcoming. The beef korma is a must try paired with garlic naan! Delish!!

This is a great place to get your spice on. The tandoori is hit and sizzling while the masalas are rich and fresh. A refreshing change from the typical chain restaurants that are becoming so hard to avoid these days. read more

Food is really good - can't really complain much there. However, on two separate occasions we have brought our culinarily unadventurous friends and they have screwed up the spice levels. Mine had almost no heat which made it less enjoyable for me, and our friends' was pretty spicy considering they wanted it as mild as possible. Has dinner at Spice last night with 5 other people. ordered the seafood tandoori and it was terrible. Burnt and the shrimp were dried right up.. The onions were burned and so was the cod. My sister had prawn Bimini and said it was terrible tasted like tomato soup with rice.. tasteless. The others had butter chicken with rice. The rice was old had not been cooked fresh. Also the roti i ordered were hard , The only good thing was the veg samosa. I would never, ever eat there gain or recommend it to any one. The bill came to 150.00 dollars and was a waste of money. read more

First off, love take out from this place so thought we would make a New Years Eve reservation. Some confusion from the waitress separating my family from another couple behind us was a harbinger of what was to come. We were seated at a table for six (four of us) and brought water, no menus. Fifteen minutes later had to ask for menus, received two tossed on the table. Decided on our order (we are familiar from numerous take out orders) and waited. Another fifteen minutes pass, no drink order ever offered at any point, now running out of water. Had enough, stood to leave and waitress rushed to our table, told her we were leaving. It appeared they were short staffed (2 wait staff) and our waitress had no idea what she was doing. Seat your customers with water AND menus and ask for a drink order. Will use Spice for take out but will not be back to the restaurant. read more

I met a friend there for the buffet lunch and everything was really delicious! Especially the dal.

Liked: service both in restaurant and delivery. Decent value but note that take out/delivery portions are slightly smaller. Lots of sauce but a little light on the meat in those dishes. Samosas and Pakora (vegetable) are outstanding. Butter chicken is good providing you like yours tomato-y but chicken can be very dry. Lamb Curry is excellent, both sauce and meat. Chicken Korma was weak, not a good selection. Lamb Seekh meat is unbelievably tasty - spicy - but too dry. Give it a try but eat in rather than risk takeout. We ordered the Butter Chicken with a side of samosas, naan, and roti. Quite disappointing! The butter chicken tasted like chunks of chicken cardboard in Campbell's tomato soup, even though we asked for it to be medium heat, there was no heat at all, and this also included temperature as the dish was barely warm. The samosas were also supposed to be medium heat, but these had no heat and tasted like nothing more than mashed potatoes wrapped up in pastry. If this restaurant is suppose to be a #1 representation of good restaurants in Kamloops, it definitely missed the mark on this one and I doubt I will ever eat here again. read more

Will never order again from Spice. I am Indian myself and know quality, authentic Indian cuisine, so if this is what you are wanting to experience - DO NOT eat at Spices of India. Goldies is still the most authentic food that I have tasted since eating my Bibi's (grandmother) cooking. If you are an inexperienced "Indian food eater" (and don't have your own "Bibi") and thought that their food was the the best, try Goldies and you'll never go anywhere else. read more
