My first time and just walking in the door wasn't the best experience. Had another customer go to the table we went to set down at and start taking paper towels. No excuse me or apologies for keeping us from setting down. The waitress was less than attentive but was able to get a beer and, after a bit, had to flag her down to get an appetizer, stuffed totter tots. They were pretty good. Server was great and friendly! Nice bar area. Good flavors on the tacos. But I feel like they were nothing special. The pork one had a good sauce but otherwise tasted like great value tortillas with pork, french onions, and sprinkled cheese. Taco Bell is even better than those. Also our order was so slow, and it wasn't even crowded! Glad I ordered chips and salsa to munch while we waited, but 2/3 of the basket were already crushed up pieces. And salsa had almost no heat. Came with while visiting family. They brought us during a music night or something as it was very loud with different people singing as a performance. When it comes to food and drink it was actually pretty good. We were there during their late night menu so it was limited but I tried the stuffed avocado taco and it was delicious! The drinks were fairly inexpensive and decent. As far as the patronage goes it was interesting. We didn't have any issues but I did hear one of the performers say something about someone urinating on the women's restroom door handle. That's just not respectful at all. However I will say that the person up front who made the announcement said that if they found out who did it they would take them outside and "straighten them out and also make sure they knew to never come back." I believe you can surmise what that means. Now this is the problem that I have with the entire place. The service. Our waitress when she was there was good. However it took quite a while to get greeted. Probably at least 10-15 minutes and when we placed our food order it took probably another 20 minutes after that. Now again I ordered from the late night menu which generally means that the food it already prepped or that it's extremely easy to make. So at this point we have been here for about 30 minutes before we even have food. When we were ready for the check it was kind of a pain to flag down our waitress since she didn't really check on us regularly. Honestly the experience would have been a lot better if the wait staff were more attentive. I would come back in the future but I would want to make sure I had a decent amount of time to set aside to make sure I wasn't late to anything coming up. read more

Not impressed with the salsa at all and it's way overpriced- maybe if I had been drinking I'd not have noticed. The soft drinks didn't taste right either. This was our first trip here. We always see cars here so we figured it must be great. When we walked in there was no one to greet us nor a sign telling us to seat ourselves. The burger was about the same....if u are just looking for a small bar setting this is prob your place...but not somewhere I would come again for food. I will say that there was only 1 waitress for the whole place...she had to work behind the bar and clean tables and take orders and deliver food. My mom and I tried to eat here at 11 am on a Saturday. There were three other families in the whole restaurant. We ordered, and an hour later were told that there was a catering gig they were working on. This place is a hidden treasure, in Burleson, as far as the food is concerned. Their two Le Cordon Bleu trained chefs use all local ingredients, made fresh, and organic produce to create a unique menu choice with a delightfully outstanding taste. I have been working my way around the menu over the last few Weeks and everything I have tried has been a unique creation and a tasty suprise. The pride they take in the preparation of their food shows. The grilled stuffed avocado is awesome! Their tacos are great...I especially like the venison and the duck. It took awhile for me to try something other than the pulled pork nachos, because I initially was hooked on them. I tried the egg rolls this afternoon, along with another grilled stuffed avocado, and really enjoyed the egg rolls as well. I think this place has a reputation in Burleson as a "Hooters" type of sports bar, which I believe has prevented them from experiencing the kind of growth and popularity that the quality if their food warrants, which is a shame, because the reputation is not deserved. A large family, with children, were enjoying lunch the last time I was there. I am hoping that the owners will work to change that reputation in town, because I want to see this restaurant survive and thrive. I'm now coming here for my Sunday lunch, instead of Frescos. NOT TAPAS Thirty minutes with no food and not a single visit from the waitress until the food finally came. French fries were soggy and very dingy in color. The Carribean chicken sandwich was pretty good but didn't make up for the poor service and loud, obnoxious environment. There were three sources of very loud music playing simultaneously. We've been to the Spice Rack on several occasions but after last night I'm not sure I'll return. The girl who waited on us first told us that happy hour had past, it was only 6:50. We placed our order with her and then she came back and told us the menu was being changed and the wedge salad that we had ordered was no longer being made. However, they would offer the same salad with just all cut up. Did we care? Of course not. To our surprise when we received our salad it was not iceberg lettuce but a spring mix. The salad was still ok, but had the waitress provided better communication it was NOT a wedge salad cut up as anyone who eats lettuce knows there is a huge difference between spring mix and iceberg. There was a situation with a very loud obnoxious drunk man and our waitress told us that there was no one there to take care of the situation. The owner wasn't available and the night manager was on vacation. If I'm going to spend time in a place where people can get out of hand and might need to be removed - I would expect the owner to staff someone who can take care of just that. read more

I went on a Sunday after my GM had given such high praise towards the food and service. I'll start with the food. The food was alright. However when you have a waitress (only one on staff at the time) not take your order on pen and paper and then the food comes out wrong, that is an issue. On top of the 45 minute wait AFTER ordering for it to come out. Mind you the place was not busy whatsoever. And the service was atrocious. Instead of the bartender/waitress making her rounds the small amount of customers and asking if they needed refills or if food was satisfactory, she would tell employees and customers how "slow it was" and how "bored she was and couldn't wait to get off work". I love Spice rack. I googled the name and searched Yelp for the reviews. Spice rack had me at organic and local. We stopped and glad we did. Their Queso is better the Frescos. Well, Frescos is awesome, but I am a Queso Blanco lover. The first time I had the Venison and Gator tacos.. sooo good. Then tried the Venison kabobs. Last week we went and I got the Grilled Avocado. I wanted to try it because of the reviews on Yelp said it was good. I love Avocado and I didn't like it. I was thinking it would be presented differently. Like the food actually stuffed in the Avocado and not just thrown on top. It looked like pig slop. What I had looked NOTHING like the picture that a reviewer posted. I love local places. And Burleson needs some excitement. The Spice Rack has a good feel with friendly service. The place is a bit small so not sure how it would be on a busy night. We only had drinks and appetizers. The service was very friendly , suggested new things and very eager to please. The calamari was over cooked and over priced. The stuffed jalapeños on the other hand were delicious. Stuffed with cream cheese and sausage topped with bacon and some house sauce. They had great flavor and wish I had more! This location is more bar than restaurant. Our stuffed jalapeno appetizer wrapped in bacon was a 5 star hit and the highlight of the entire visit. My husband and I shared a cheeseburger with a fried egg on top. The hamburger was very well done yet the fried egg exploded on my first bite so egg yolk cascaded over my left hand. Partially my fault for that mess. The french fries were not crispy but they had great flavor. My step-daughter did not eat more than a few bites of the chicken taco that she ordered and she didn't seem to enjoy the chips and queso. Drinks were pricey compared to other locations near by. We probably won't go back. It seems to be very popular with bikers. It was quite busy when we were there. And our bartender had a lot of people to take care of yet still gave us great service at our table. We tipped her well in appreciation for her efforts.
