Spicelife is located in the Bradlee shopping center. As fast casual restaurant. When you walk in there is a tablet station for to go orders only. There is not a hostess to greet you. You order at the counter and pick your own seating. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and the potato cakes. The potato cakes were served with two dipping sauces. The chicken tikka masala was served with rice. The flavor was on point and you can order according to the spice level that you prefer. I went with the medium spice level and I thought it was perfect.

Another visit to my now fav spot around the corner! Brought a collegue from work and the place was already busy at lunch time. I advised my american friend to try the masala dosa, i explained its like a large savory crepe. He got it mild and when it arrived he said you were not kidding its huge, everyone there, their eyes popped out and I told them it was masala dosa. He absolutely loved it, finished every morsel. I tried the paneer tikka masala it comes with fluffy white fragrant basmati rice, the paneer was so soft and the curry delicious, i was so hungry finished every morsel too! It's nice the resturant continues to be clean and welcoming.

Food - ate here several times - everything we tried was excellent- very tasty, spices mild to hot, food was well presented, portions were large Service - the service is fast and efficient and the wait staff is very helpful with suggestions. Lots of takeout traffic. Located in Bradley Shopping Center- lots of Ambience- setup for takeout but you can eat in too- calming atmosphere with music. Great for lunch or dinners

This has got to be the best Indian restaurant I ever been to. My friends and I ordered several dishes to give a proper review and I was more than impressed. I understand it's not a fancy Indian restaurant like Rasika in DC but Spicelife is much better. The spices , flavor and spice level are all that you'd except and spice life gave it. I read previous reviews with less 5 star reviews and it appears they don't appreciate good true Indian spices and flavors. Don't sleep on this place. One bite might make your head bobble.

Ordered the lamb briyani for takeout. Flavors were good and the portions are very generous. I asked for medium spice and the spice level was perfect for me. Overall a good experience.

This is a consistently amazing restaurant. Though a little informal, the food is vastly better (and much less expensive) than other "fancier" Indian restaurants in the area. We have been here several times, and have always had an exceptional experience. The restaurant is also very clean and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!!!

A friend wanted to checkout this new spot in the Bradlee shopping center. Open seating, you order first and get a number and wait for your food. They have no alcohol but other beverages The lamb & chicken skewers were delicious. Not too spicy. The portions were large, so to go boxes for all. This place is very popular and does a brisk takeout business. The restaurant is comfortable and well lit. They do not rush you to finish your meal.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -A good fast-casual Indian joint in the Bradlee Shopping Center. The missus and I on a whim went there at noon on a Saturday. Clean, plentiful seating, easy shopping center parking. Order at the counter; they bring your food to you. Food came quite quickly. She got the Alu Tikki Chat (mild) - $9. Ostensibly an appetizer, was really a meal itself. Didn't skimp on the potato or chick peas. Quite good, we both easily would order again. I got the ($13) gobi Manchurian (medium). Again, decent size amount of crispy fried cauliflower. A bit more heat than i expected - not painful, but definitely some mouth warmth. As also split a ($9) plain dosa - yuuuge. Quite good but next time we'd get a potato dosa or some other filling. Big plus: actual plates and metal silverware. Just under $35, before tip, and we got a stuffed amount of tasty food. A darn solid 4.5 fast-casual experience. We shall return.

Food was really delicious. Liked the basil leaves, the sauce was tangy and sweet and medium hot was enough for me. The worker there was nice and recommended some coconut curry for next time.

Although I have other favorite local spots for Indian food I decided to try SpiceLife this weekend and it did not disappoint! Food was amazing and there was so much for the price! I spent $21 and got a mango lassi and chicken bryiani. It was literally the best tasting bryiani of my life! I can't wait to go back! Plenty of leftovers and will have to order from Toast to pick up next time so I can portion it all better. Wow!!

Service is good and I love the cheese stuffed naan. The paneer biriyani is crave-worthy and they give a huge serving!

Very solid in all areas of cooking. Bread, curry, tandoori and dessert all solid. My family has had takeout from here several times.

The butter chicken has so much flavor, and I especially love that the sauce isn't overly creamy or heavy. It has the perfect balance of spices and richness, and I could honestly order it every time. The garlic naan is also amazing -- fresh, flavorful, and perfect for soaking up the butter chicken sauce. Everything I've tried from here has been delicious, though, so it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. One thing I really appreciate is how fresh the food always feels. Even when I order delivery or takeout, it arrives piping hot, which makes such a difference. The quality has been consistently great every time I've ordered. Definitely one of my go-to spots for Indian food!

You prepay and pre-tip (although you could always tip more in cash after service). Self serve water. You pick your seats. If the restaurant is not busy, you could bring a group of 8-10 here easily, there are also 2 tables outside that can fit 6-8 each. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend the kabob platter masala, incredibly flavor, nose running spice level. It comes with rice, but we ordered 1 garlic naan to soak up all the curry and that was a good choice. There were 3 shrimp, a moderate amount of chicken and lots of lamb, it was a ground lamb kabob. The Nilgiri Chicken curry was very coconut forward; the flavor reminded me of a mild Thai green curry, with the thickness of an Indian restaurant curry. If you're looking for spice without being spicy and love coconut, you'll love this. Rice was exceptional. Also ordered the Aam Palak Chaat (this is a staple for me) -- flavor was great, the dish was served cold including the spinach. I'd like to go back and try a Kati roll. Overall a great experience and I'll go back. Just know you do order vs full restaurant service. But your food is served at the table and the team checks in on you too! Great option for friends or groups paying separate checks.

The dining area was pleasant and clean, which I always appreciate. I ended up ordering one of my usual dishes I get whenever I dine at an Indian restaurant: Lamb Biryani. I wish I would have remembered to take a picture of my meal. This was hands down the most flavorful biryani that I've ever had and I've had a lot of biryanis in my lifetime. The lamb could have been just little bit more tender but that's the only thing that brang down the score from a 10 out of 10 to a 9.5 out of 10. I definitely will be back to try their other menu item and I suggest you do the same if you're ever in Old Town Alexandria.

We returned to eat an early dinner here and chose to sit inside given the pollen and passing people near the outside seating. We were seated upstairs near the one window before other patrons joined us. Service was great throughout with being promptly greeted by the hostess, shown to a table, and checked on periodically. My wife and I both enjoyed the Tikka Masala where the big decision appears to be how spicy do you want it on a scale of 1-30. I had a 4 and thought I could have toned it down a notch but I prefer mild over spicy. We both enjoyed our dinner which we also enjoyed with a lovely cucumber salad that was so tasty and refreshing as my wife put it. A wonderful dinner and we will likely return if in the area.
