Five stars! We went on a Sunday evening, so we were able to enjoy the full buffet spread of specialties. We loved the haleem(!), beef paya, saag, okra, chickpea, and tandoori chicken. We also ordered the beef chapli kebab, and that was huge and delicious too. My favorite though was the beef paya since I love the richness of the collagen. The staff were super nice and helpful. I can't eat gluten or dairy, and they explained the ingredients in everything. It's a great restaurant, and I highly recommend. I got the kebab platter with chicken, lamb and ground beef kebabs. Very generous amount of meats! A little dry, but that's better than undercooked. The bread that comes with it was really unique. Richmond, VA I could not give "0" so had to give one. One of the worst places I ever had food from. I ordered "Chicken Seekh Kabob Karahi". They gave "Beef Sheekh Kabob Karahi". I told them not to put cilantro which they put in the food. The Kabobs were cooked a day or two ago and were rewarmed. They lied to me the Kabobs are fresh. If you are looking for good kabob and meat not a good place! When I saw the kabob I said YES this is the one I was looking but when I bite inside the meat was completely raw and hard which I couldn't eat at all. My kids liked the fries and bread was fresh and hot at least. Price is definitely high! Using plastic plates for dining in is very bad and uncomfortable. The small salt jars were too old and even you can not use them. The front service was perfect like the way he treat us like a customer Thank you for him. I go to this place all the time,if I don't eat, there I order through Uber eats. The last two times that I've ordered through Uber eats and they've delivered my food. It was made with parts of chicken that is absolutely disgusting. I got the chicken biryani which they always make with chicken thighs and legs. I've been given chicken pieces and twice now chicken necks.. The first time it happened I called and spoke with the manager. He apologized profusely told me that they shouldn't of given me chicken neck and that the next time I order it, to call him and let him know, and he would make it for me himself, so I did that.I received my order. Everything so far was so good and lo and behold what do I find ?another chicken neck. so I called the restaurant up again and I spoke with the so-called manager and he said that he made it special for me and I said why did you put a chicken neck in there? He's telling me that's how you make it. I'm like no you don't. With the pandemic, I have not been going to AYCE places and Royal fell off my radar. But looking for delivery, we saw them come up and ordered. All I can say is the food is way better than I remember it. We ordered one of the kebob combos each time and have decided the lamb chops and chicken are the best. Their sheek kabob is good still, but these are just better. Our next order is going to be a full order of the lamb chops and a combo of bone-in and boneless chicken! Also of note are their desserts which are really outstanding. Our favorites so far is the ras malai {cheese balls in a creamy sauce} and the rice pudding. I am forgetting to mention the best part: their bread. It is more flavorful and softer than a lot of the breads we get from other places. Plus if it is left over, it holds well if you leave it in foil with no plastic wrap or refrigeration. The spinach and the chick pea sides are both top quality. It's a self service place. I know there are so many kabob places around here, but break away from your routine and give this nice place a try. We usually order Boneless Chicken Karahi ($24.99), it comes with 2 bread and 2 green yogurt sauce, and could easily feed 2-4 people depending on how hungry they are. They say the order takes 30 minutes to be ready, but usually it takes longer, between 40-45 minutes. So may be it's a good idea to place your order over the phone before you arrive to avoid the long wait. Boneless Chicken Karahi is cubes of chicken breast cooked in a wok with tomatoes, ginger, whole spices and cilantro. It's a party in your mouth. I ordered it medium spicy and it comes out very hot but something I can tolerate. Overall, The place is very clean. The service is good but slow. Checked out their lunch buffet today. It's served out literally cafeteria style. What I thought was butter chicken, it actually had ground beef kabob instead of chicken. Lamb curry was nice. I'd say their chicken was acceptable. Also tried their spinach & potato, cauliflower in some yellow sauce, and rice pudding. I guess $13.77 is a fair price. About biosafety measures, they have a plastic shield set up to protect the food stations. You pick out whatever food and staff member puts them on foam plates or bowls for you and then places them on a tray to hand you with bread. You pick up utensils, napkins, and straw yourself at another station where there aren't hand sanitizer. You can pick any open table you want. There's also napkin dispenser for each table. Bathroom's interesting because the light keeps changing colors. Makes you feel like you're clubbing LOL. read more

One of their cashiers is unnecessarily aggressive. I ordered a kabob lunch the other day for dine in, and wanted to try out their sauces. So I asked the cashier "what type of sauces do you have?". I think I struck his penny pinching nerve because his response was "didn't I already give you sauce with your meal!?" For starters, my meal did come with a sauce but it was more of a yogurt salad dressing. I was craving some type of chutney. Regardless, his demeanor was revealing. If that upsets you, I don't want to patron your business. He should just charge for extra sauce. I wouldn't mind. But why get upset? The food wasn't bad and that's why this isn't a 1 star review. I am a regular here - we have been coming once a week for several years. One of our favorite places to eat: the butter chicken, chickpeas, naan, pakora curry - everything is cooked to perfection. When ordering from the menu, I love the lamb chops! As an added bonus, the owner and staff are so friendly! However, I usually stick with their Chicken Karahi, as this dish is great to share among 2 people, and we always leave stuffed! The dish itself comes in an iron pot, where the chunks of boneless and bone-in chicken comes sizzling in the slightly-thick flavorful, tomato-based sauce - sometimes, it can be very thick and savory, with the subtle hint of ginger, and other times, it can be way too tomato-esque and sweeter; I just wish there was some consistency! You can control the spiciness level, so keep that in mind. This comes with freshly-baked bread that is perfectly prepared, soft, and large enough to dip with and/or nestle your chicken meat. The dish itself takes about 25-30 minutes to prepare, but it is so worth it! I love the manager and the staff here (Chef Azam), as they always treat us like family and make sure that our dining experience is always perfect and wonderful. They recently added an all-day lunch and dinner buffet, including the weekends. Will C. and I received complimentary (and delicious) vegetable soup before our meal was served. I really appreciated that gesture...they must have known that we were both starving! At the recommendation of the wonderful Hannah H., we ordered their Chicken Karahi (enough for 2 people). This dish is made to order, so be prepared to wait. Will C. and I waited roughly 35-40 minutes on a pretty slow Friday night. The Chicken Karahi comes with your choice of rice or bread plus a salad. Though I wanted to try their bread (it looked so good), Will C. is a rice lover through and through, so I decided to be a nice girlfriend and let him have his choice :p The sauce that the Chicken Karahi is cooked in tastes quite good - it was very thick and just a hint spicy. The flavor of this dish is very complex and I'm finding it difficult to describe; I would say that the dish was tangy, spicy, and savory all at the same time. My only issue is that the chicken (both the bone-in and boneless) was on the drier side. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the dish overall, but I'm definitely going to have to sample more Chicken Karahi at other restaurants for a more decisive opinion. I'll definitely have to come back to try more items on the menu, which shouldn't be too far out in the future for a kabob addict like myself.
