I order from this restaurant pretty often and it's consistently so good! My favorites are definitely the butter chicken and garlic naan. The butter chicken has so much flavor, and I especially love that the sauce isn't overly creamy or heavy. It has the perfect balance of spices and richness, and I could honestly order it every time. The garlic naan is also amazing -- fresh, flavorful, and perfect for soaking up the butter chicken sauce. Everything I've tried from here has been delicious, though, so it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. One thing I really appreciate is how fresh the food always feels. This was different than I was expecting, as you order at the counter cafe style and then they do have table service. You prepay and pre-tip (although you could always tip more in cash after service). Self serve water. You pick your seats. If the restaurant is not busy, you could bring a group of 8-10 here easily, there are also 2 tables outside that can fit 6-8 each. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend the kabob platter masala, incredibly flavor, nose running spice level. It comes with rice, but we ordered 1 garlic naan to soak up all the curry and that was a good choice. There were 3 shrimp, a moderate amount of chicken and lots of lamb, it was a ground lamb kabob. The Nilgiri Chicken curry was very coconut forward; the flavor reminded me of a mild Thai green curry, with the thickness of an Indian restaurant curry. If you're looking for spice without being spicy and love coconut, you'll love this. Rice was exceptional. Also ordered the Aam Palak Chaat (this is a staple for me) -- flavor was great, the dish was served cold including the spinach. I'd like to go back and try a Kati roll. Overall a great experience and I'll go back. Just know you do order vs full restaurant service. But your food is served at the table and the team checks in on you too! It was pretty empty when I went in but got fully packed when I got my food. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The man standing at the counter was courteous and handed me the menu. I ended up getting the Tandoori chicken, garlic Naan and my wife got Chicken Tikka masala. The utensils and beverage is self-serve but they bring your food out to your table. There are indoor and outdoor seating available. I think my favorite item from this visit was the garlic naan. It was by far one of the best naan I have ever had in my life. It was so fluffy, chewy, buttery, perfect amount of crisp at the bottom and had the perfect balance of garlic and butter. The tandoori chicken was quite spicy for my taste, but the chicken was very tender and cooked to perfection. The portion size here is pretty good for the price point. We were out in the suburbs and heard about this place. It's situated in an updated strip mall but really has a modern-chic vibe. The restaurant is on the smaller side (cafe-like) and we were seated at the last available table. If you're planning on arriving in a group this is probably not the place. Although, I did see they did there best to manage seating and accommodate larger parties The menu is diverse and has light yet filling offerings. There were definitely many items that wouldn't see at other Indian based restaurants. Also their preparation of many favorites are not run of the mill. I would say the portions are smaller than expected but definitely filling. I also enjoyed that it's not the vibe is not typical of your every day Indian restaurant. Although there is table seating and someone can take your order at the table, you can also order at the counter. Utensils, napkins, and water pitchers are all self serve. However none of it was plastic so it was a fun and convenient way. Feels like this establishment is more of a cafe, but don't let that discourage you from trying it. Our first time trying this restaurant. We ordered Chicken Biryani and Chicken Tandoori with a Naan. The order arrived on time. The Chicken Tandoori was delicious, but the Biryani was just average -- and surprisingly, it came with boneless chicken. Traditionally, biryani should have bone-in chicken, so that was disappointing. The main reason I'm giving a 3-star review is because of the poor customer service from one staff member. As soon as we took our first bite, an older gentleman approached us in a very rude and disrespectful tone, saying: "YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE DRINK." I had already spent nearly $50 on food -- did he really think I was going to run off without paying for a $3 Fanta? Of course, I was going to pay, but the way he said it completely ruined our experience. There was no sign saying we had to pre-pay for drinks, and his approach felt unnecessary and unprofessional. What made it worse is that my wife, who wears a hijab, felt singled out. It left us questioning whether his behavior was simply bad service or something more personal. Nice little casual spot for home style Indian food. I went with a work group for lunch. I ordered the curry chicken and I was worried it would be too hot but the man at the counter who took my order said the heat can be modified to my taste. You go to your table and they bring the food to you. It is served in a bowl of the chicken and broth with rice on the side. It was flavorful and spicy but not to the point that I needed a pitcher of water. They portion was big for my lunch, so doggy bag for me. This is our go to Indian fusion takeout place. We haven't been disappointed by the food so far. Garlic naan, lamb chops, beef curry, chicken tikka, it's all yum. Portions are great too. The only painful part is the cost, but then again that's just inflation. read more

A coworker suggested I check this place out. I finally found some time to visit IndAroma and I'm glad I did. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and the tandoori salmon. The chicken tikka masala was flavorful. The chicken was tender and the sauce was not spicy at all. The tandoori salmon was okay but not my favorite. I ordered it based off the images I saw online. Perhaps it looked a little different because my order was a take out order instead of a dine in order. The salmon was cooked fine but based off of looks it the appearance was lacking. Indaroma catered our Mehendi/Sangeet and let me say they knocked it out the park. We had envisioned live stations for our event and they definetly delivered! All of our guest loved the live stations and raved about every aspect of it. We also had live jalebi and a chocolate fountain, which was popular among the adults and children. They also took care of some aspects of the decor, the indochinese station had chinese takeout boxes which looked amazing. Working with Marissa, Missy, and the entire Indaroma team was a joy. Marissa and Missy were so friendly and patient with all of our initial calls and with the tastings, they really did make our lives easier as the couple. I got the butter chicken and garlic naan both times, although I tried the spicy version of the butter chicken last night. It's soooo good. I love the spicy of the butter chicken with the cooling rice and the crunch of the naan. Perfect bite every time. I did try the vegetable samosas this time around and they were delicious. They provide two sauce with the samosas (a super spicy green sauce and a sweet brown sauce) but I loved dipping mine in the butter chicken sauce. All around 10/10. This is where I go to treat myself to good food and dessert. Mango cheesecake is tasty but the mango in the cheesecake was fibrous and although I appreciated the natural flavor, I wouldn't have used that part of the mango in a cheesecake. The flan-like texture mixed with the hair-like texture was not my favorite. I did eat it all though. My favorite dish is chicken biryani and it's always a treat with a nice balance of heat, spice, with crispy onions and cool raita on the side for a complex treat of delightful textural gradient. I also like the chicken tikka masala however the huge chunks of chicken don't work as well for me here. Somehow it seems healthier than the biryani which tempts me to eat significantly more rice than usual - though I appreciate the portion size. Mango Lassi is also yummy, as well as the samosas and the sauces! Not usually a fan of tamarind but I eat samosas with it. The star of the sauces is the green sauce, and yes, I tend to order samosas for the purpose of eating green sauce. My guilty pleasure here is...tiramisu. Yes, unfortunately, the New York in me can't pass up a well crafted, fresh, handmade Italian dessert. No pictures because I eat tiramisu immediately, which is not ideal because I prefer it with coffee. They offer glass bottles of water (I'm #teamGlass so this pleases me) and metal forks for dine-in and there is plenty of comfortable seating, inside and outside. The bathrooms are also clean. My food comes out quickly and it has been a long time since I've had any issues. Only thing: I understand that prices have been raised on everything but it would be helpful to know the prices before ordering. read more

I got lamb rogan josh ($18.95), cucumber raita (a cucumber sauce similar to salad dressing, $2.50), mango lassi ($5.50), and gulab jamun (balls of pancake sauce with syrup, $4.95). This place is an excellent introduction to Indian food if you have never had it before. There are carafes of water for you to serve yourself while you are waiting for your meal. I have been coming here for year! Had my first date here, i've brought friends and family here, and i've brought people who haven't had indian food here to try it for the first time. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place and can't / won't stop recommending it. Truthfully i think they have the best butter chicken in all of the DMV. Their garlic naan is buttery, crispy, yet soft and fresh from their tandoori oven. Their butter chicken isn't dry, it's juicy and wonderfully cooked. I wished they would give me more but the ratio to price point is pretty good / standard; So is their Tandoori Chicken (but this is a very big portion). They use to give a house salad with the butter chicken but stopped doing that years ago. I have also tried their pani puri which is good but just not worth it at the price point.
