They went through the prices & different options with us, very sincere and got to the point. I like that they are not rude or pushy like other magazines. Even the owners seemed very humble & nice, that's a first since a lot of business owners especially from a popular magazine are not really that laid back. I felt comfortable & confident that my Auntie was going to place her ad in the magazine. After getting the magazine her ad looked great! Definitely doing business with them again.

With offices in Fremont, it has a huge coverage area from San Leandro to Milpitas. It seems to lack frontpage news stories, but has everything else. Content such as city events, obits, police and fire reports, horoscope, school sports, and classified ads. The paper seems to fit the gaps that those other "cookie cutter" newspapers don't cover. The Tri City Voice gets residents interested in their community, and generates involvement. A valuable asset to the Eastbay.

I loved finding all the various authors and craft books and "how to" sets! They even had some science sets! The only drawback, I'd say was how the outside trash can was overflowing and there were flies all over. So I didn't walk by it. I'm sure that's going to attract the wrong type of attention, so that's the only reason why I'm giving them a 4 instead of 5 stars. However, everything within the book store was clean and organized. I stopped by to look for music CD and manga. The store has a dedicated section for movies, music and games in the front of the store. It's a huge size bookstore spreading different sections of categories, magazines, and a kids area. There is a coffee station in the center and tables where you can read and work as it's pretty quiet inside. The manga section is big and the magazines as well. There were quite a bit of KPop magazines amongst others. You'll find quite a few things you didn't think of when you come across cute and unique accessories. If you want to get out of the outside and enjoy a quiet atmosphere, it's Barnes & Noble.

It's a waste of resources for them (and the planet) and a waste of time for me since I must dispose of it. Worse, they block the sidewalk in front of my (corner) house by dropping a stack of papers on the corner to use as a staging area (I'm not sure what else to call it) for deliveries. School kids use that sidewalk to walk to school and there are many cars on the roadway. It's wrong to block the sidewalk and make the kids walk in the street. I wish the students would go ahead and walk on my front garden area (not really a lawn), but they (unlike the Milpitas Post) respect people's property and do not do so.

Crazy to donate products for them to sell. Makes more sense just to donate them & let a non profit sell them...or donate to Friends of the Library... I waited well over an hour to hear the $18 offer LOL.... CRAZY ME!! But it's a very nice place to shop!

It seems I always see it in doctor's offices, dentist offices and in the lobby of hotels but nowhere else. The articles are generally short, dull and uninteresting about people and things that I have no ability to care about. A glossy cover and shiny, expensive photographs hide a dust bowl of information. No more wasting of time reading this fancy-looking publication for me no matter how bored I get waiting for my appointment to come. It will probably go belly-up soon anyway as it is hard to keep any local magazine going that doesn't allow 20 pages of escort ads in the back a la metro. San Jose is a great place to live and should just have something better. Don't cha think?

When I was living in Boston, my Mom bought me a subscription to Boston Magazine (a great mag) and to San Jose Magazine. Sadly, it's never been anywhere near as compelling. The problem isn't that San Jose Magazine isn't readable, the articles are OK, the photos tend to be really nice, and they tend to give at least some coverage to all the events that I give a care about. On the other hand, it's also a crappy selection of articles that hardly covers the way we in SJ live and work. It's targeted to a more upscale crowd, but that's not SJ and it's not what's interesting about the city. The presentation is pretty, but the content is not what it should be.
