I've been doing the Bend Ale Trail over the last few years and visited the tiny Spider City taproom and wine bar in downtown Bend. This location is their main brewery and has an industrial feel. They have a ton of different beer selections as well. I loved the big open garage doors for fresh air and natural lighting. It's also large for groups and events. I only had a handful of sample size beers on my visit, as I was getting too full. The bartender was super welcoming to help pick a few favorites to try. If you're on a Bend beer tour, this is a great stop! read more

Cool to see another hang out spot on the SE side of town. Stopped in with some buddies for some beers on a Friday afternoon. Overall the vibe was pretty chill and the smaller location took me back to the craft beer scene a few years ago, where owners toiled away in plain sight of customers and passionate craft drinkers were still stoked to tell you about the beers. Also cool that it is wholly owned by women, a demographic that is not largely represented in craft beer. I tried 5x 4oz samplers to start with. All 5 were fairly light bodied and pretty crisp. All seemed well attenuated and no off flavors. - The Wimea Pale Ale has a nice subtly-sweet malt note that balanced well with the hops - The Grazing Goat IPA has a pleasant citrus bitterness that reminded me of a time when IPAs were still IPAs and not hoppy pales (I'm looking at you, Hazy's!) - The Deer Hugger Hazy was nice, although didn't really stand out among the other pales/IPAs. - The Sneaky Deer Hazy Double had a good balance of hoppiness and body and was super drinkable. this was my choice when I went back for another pint - The Tin Pan Alley Imperial Stout w/Coffee was decent, but lacked the body and malt I'm looking for in an Imperial Stout Overall, the beers were pretty tasty and location pretty cool. Our disappointment came when we noticed the bar tender pour a 12oz can of wine into one of their glasses and it filled it nearly to the top. It appears they're using 13oz Tulip glasses, so your $6 beer is actually more equivalent to a $7.40 pint. I'm all for specialized serving vessels, I just like to know what I'm paying for. Again, cool to see a place on the SE side to stop in for a beer that has good atmosphere and quality beers, just wish prices were closer to other folks in town or serving sizes were noted on the menu read more

Another place to drink local craft in Bend! OK, maybe we don't need another one (Or do we? Can't have too many beer options.), but Spider City produces some good beer. Prior to the launch of the tap room, their beer has been available at The Bite in Tumalo and the Wine Shop/Beer Tasting room in downtown Bend. Maybe some other places. - This is a tap room, located at the brewery facility. No kitchen but as of July 2019 they have arranged two food trucks to share duty (tacos and fish n chips). - Limited seating on simple metal stools. - Prices are in line with everyone else ($4-6 per glass) - Lots of beer styles, especially for a new brewery. So far, I've tried the IPA, Hazy IPA, Porter, English Pale; all solid and none are super-high gravity. - Women owned. - Limited hours, 2-8 PM Wednesday through Saturday - Not noisy! Wonderful brewery that's a new discovery at least to me since my last trip to Bend. I wiped out all my brewery stops when I was there during that time but there are always new breweries on the horizon even though some areas may not experience it as frequently or rapidly as other areas. Spider City was my favorite brewery on this most recent trip when Steve and I hit a handful of newcomers. The beer here is experimental in beer recipes and flavors and that is always what I'm looking for when doing these visits to multiple breweries in a given trip. The taproom here is roomy and comfortable which is always a great combination. Now onto the good stuff... the beer! At this brewery I got their Cherrywood Smoked Porter which was fantastic! I don't see Cherrywood beer much in all of my excursions to different breweries so I really thought I should take the opportunity to get one. I loved a Cherrywood beer back in Colorado when I visited one time and this one was excellent as well. Steve got the Kaffir Lime Sea Salt Gose which was an excellent beer as well. Spider City was an excellent stop and well worth making a return trip for! read more

Half warehouse, half bar. It's a smaller place that other breweries but it's got a nice vibe to it. The selection is smaller than most places and there's only space for about 20-30 people but I like the furniture they have, it fits in with the barrels they have in the warehouse connected to their bar. Prices are great and the beer was good! They have a couple really great fruity/tarty brews that I don't remember the names of, but I remember I enjoyed it! read more

Went here to get a stamp for the ale trail passport, but they wont stamp without a purchase. Suggest you just get the phone app and your presence will get you a virtual stamp. The employee gave me a hard time and had an attitude about stamping without a purchase, so we decided to not come back since we already had enough to drink for the day and the attitude turned us off. read more

Update! We have indeed made Spider City one of our regular spots! They always have really interesting beers on tap, one of our recent favorites being the lime gose that tastes like a slice of key lime pie. Soooo tasty! The Pavuchky is also delicious as well as the German wheat, and it's very hard to pick a second most favorite between those two. If you've never been to Spider City, you should totally check it out, try something new and delicious just off the beaten path! Great little spot, tucked away in Bends industrial zone off Reed Market! Very cool space, with a great playlist too. The Tin Pan Alley cstout is unbelievable! Spider City is a hidden GEM! I almost did not want to write a review about it in fear that it would discovered and be over run. I love how quiet it is there on an afternoon. Just a few people mingling around with great beer. Unlike some of the breweries downtown, it's not filled with children running and screaming, you don't have to wait for 15 minutes for a drink & it seems like there's always seating available. The bartender, John is a great guy who always knows what to recommend. Their beers are delicious, ranging from a Pineapple Serrano IPA, to a Sea Salt Porter & they also offer a house made spiked seltzer that is delicious and not too sweet. It's a great spot, run by great people. They have indoor and outdoor seating & a food truck parked outside. If you're looking for a low key, good brewery. This is it! read more

This is the most organized and clean brewery I have ever been in and I have been to many breweries and have been in the industry as of late. The organization and cleanliness was the first thing I noticed when I walked in- great job ladies! And guess what... the beer is good too as well as the big open airy atmosphere. Tons of space and places to sit. Eating inside is just as nice and airy as sitting outside which is important to me during this pandemic situation because I believe it's actually a thing that's happening and not the whole world linking the US. Great local spot in Bend! Female-owned with a nice venue. Warm/welcoming indoor space with large tables and market lights. Outdoor space has a few high tops. Never incredibly busy, so this is a great place to go if you're looking for a mellow environment. Beer selection is good and often rotates, and they have a few cider and sour options. It is located in a more industrial area, so not much else is around, but it's a nice place to pop into for a few casual beers.
