Delay Delayed. At noon informed a secondary plane was coming from another state with arrival 3:30 at 3:36 was informed plane was in the air. Now there is another delay due to a storm. 12 hours at the airport. My birthday celebration is going from excitement to disappointment. I do not go to Jack in the Box with the anticipation of receiving the best hamburger with quality ingredients for $5. You get $5 worth of edible food. When you fly Spirit, I see it as the same thing. When they charge you $100 round trip to Vegas, you cannot expect the quality you get for the more expensive airline. I fly spirit for the low prices and I expect things to go wrong sometimes. I would suggest flying in the big seats- it is a good value and very comfortable. Overall it is a good airline to get to where you need to go as cheap as possible. I see Spirit as the public transportation in the airline business. I do admit their prices are a little higher and you probably need to be more efficient when you are flying. Also, try blocking your location when buying tickets. They raise and lower their prices based on your location. I guess I have leave work early. So I leave work. I race to get to RTA. Get on a train and what do you know, half way to the airport and I get another alert floghtbis delayed 3 hours. I arrive at the airport and I tell the agent my story and the agent gets her supervisor and he tells me there is a weather delay. Its raining and other flights are taking off. This is the only flight that is delayed. That just felt like Sprint customer service telling you that the new *4g LTE towers will be operational as soon as the city grants them the go ahead. I along with 15 others had to wait for everyone to board, then pay $99 for the bag that should have been charged when I booked the ticket. The front gate employee was as unpleasant as usual, but seemed to enjoy her new found power refusing boarding and forcing all to put their bags in the bag bin tester. Flew to Cleveland from Seattle 8/15/2021. Tickets via Spirit were booked well before the latest cancellation meltdown. Found out 2nd leg of our return flight had been cancelled. Called Spirit's 800-number. Old fashioned phone-tree sucks (like something from the 1990s) and the rep said our only option was that they'd rebook us on the same flight the next day - meaning we'd get home a day late. No refund, although they did send a $50 gift code for use at an airport restaurant - big whoop. Wound up rebooking on Delta, and was once again impressed with that airline's un-showy competence. Remember what H. L. Mencken wrote? "The older I get the more I admire and crave competence, just simple competence, in any field from adultery to zoology.." Spirit management should take that to heart. Btw, our experience with the Spirit flight crew was excellent - and they had a thankless job dealing with the improperly masked/unmasked along with a child's temper tantrum. I recently flew from Cleveland(CLE) to Tampa(TPA). Unfortunately during the flight the captain came on the loudspeaker and informed us that we were being diverted to atlanta because of inclemental weather at surrounding airports in florida. Other planes had landed at tampa and there were no gates available. STUFF HAPPENS!!!! The captain did an Excellent job of keeping us informed as to the changing conditions and the crew did an excellent job of entertaining us during the one hour layover in atlanta. Flight to Los Angeles was delayed by 2+ hours, then when we were all waiting at the gate to board there was not a single attendant there and 30 minutes after we were supposed to board we got a notification on our phones that the flight was cancelled. Everyone on the flight left to go get the flight rebooked/refunded & there was not a single employee there. Horrible customer service. Booked flight months ago and paid for seat assignments. Went to check in and print boarding passes and the confirmation numbers shows no seats assigned. Tricked me into paying another $60 to basically move up one row from our original seats just to make sure I could get on the plane. Called customer service the next day and all they do is read from a script that says, basically, "Sorry, not sorry... we cannot issue a refund." Writing my attorney general's office and will keep posting on EVERY web and blog site I can find about their horrible service. If you've never flown with them, save yourself. Where do even begin with your seats? A wooden bench would have been better. Bungee cords for seat pockets? Not even an air sickness bag provided? I never need them, but I can only imagine the times that someone needed one and didn't have it. Doesn't make me particularly comfortable with the sanitary conditions of the plane. The tray table was dirty, and where the heck was the rest of it? Not even big enough to use for anything, let alone a laptop. Arm rests are so low to the seat that they are unusable even to put an elbow on to use your hand as a head rest. Seats do not recline. Departure was late. Not enough room at gate in FLL. Couldn't hear instructions from where we had to sit across the way. At the gate, the flight attendants had the nerve to ask me to move my wife and son's bags from the seats next to me so THEY could sit down when my wife went to the restroom. My first experience and absolutely my last. Yes, flights get delayed and canceled because of weather, but when they can't re-book you on a flight until 3 days from now is absurd! The Spirit flight we were booked on from Cleveland to Tampa was the ONLY canceled flight on the departure board. We first received email that flight was delayed two hours, but we were to be there as if the flight was on time. The second email said another 45 minute delay, but still be there as if it was on time. As we were being dropped off at the airport we received a phone call telling us the flight was canceled and it would be 3 days before they could provide a flight. I stated that was not acceptable and they said they could refund our money to the credit card we used to purchase the tickets. We had closed that credit card and I explained that, but they said it was the only was they could reimburse us. I have no idea how I will receive my refund. We had to book a flight with a different airline at a cost of $400 plus a rental car to drive to a different airport. I am disgusted by their customer service. I suppose you get what you pay for, but I paid for more than what I got. read more

If you want a no frills airline, then you've found it. The wife was looking for a cheap fare, but we were in for a doozy. First off, you're going to pay for checked AND carry-on baggage. $42 for each checked bag. Carry-on is like $45. That's if you buy it before you get to the airport. At the airport, you'll pay $52 at the airport and $65 at the gate. It does change depending on where you're flying. Make sure you print your boarding pass before you get to airport or at the kiosk. Otherwise, there goes another $10 per person. If you have to check a bag and how many people don't, you'll have to wait in line to see an agent for all of 1 minute to take the bag. 20 minutes of my life I'll never get back. You don't get a free coke, it's $3. You're not going to get a heated plane ride either. It was freezing in the cabin as if it wasn't pressurized. I'm kidding, but it was particularly cold. I plan to wear long pants on the flight home. Want to preselect a seat? They'll charge you for that too. Minimum of $18, yikes! Luckily the crying baby in the row in front of us was free! The flight was on time and service was good. But if you want anything, it will cost you for it. I suspect there was a coin operated bathroom too. All-in-all, I think we paid about the same if we were to of flown on American or any other major airline. The flight was full so with other normal carriers you could ask for a better seat at no charge. Not with good Ole Spirit! They'll charge you even at the gate. Why would I expect anything less? We had to settle with our randomly assigned seats, 16D and E (a middle and aisle seat) I do like that the aisle is large enough that two people can get around each other. I would have preferred that they give each of the 6 seats in a row an additional inch in width, but that'd be asking too much. Also it appears that the seats don't lean back. The tray table is only big enough for your cell phone and there's no wifi, even to purchase, on the plane. It's not the greatest experience but it did get us and our luggage to our destination on time and intact. If every airline could do that consistently, that would be amazing. read more

While your flight attendant Kameron does the exact same thing talking to another passenger for more than an hr. This is a highly hazardous time and for you to have your employees not enforce social distancing while other guest are trying to get back and forth to the restroom. to have a guy not just one but two people blocking the isle. Highly unprofessional and this is coming from a high risk personnel. You're attendants are not doing a great job. This shouldn't be allowed especially during this time. Even my wife told another flight attendant Princess and she didn't do anything about it either. For safety purposes alone this is uncalled for. Practice safe flying for other people health. This can be avoided on future flights have your attendant enforce social distancing and not blocking the isle risking everyone life. Flight attendants were friendly and I liked how the pilot informed us details of the upcoming flight, like what our maximum altitude will be. They sent a revised itinerary for return flight, but never indicated any changes were made to departure. This late notice, left us scrambling to book a departing flight for our trip. My girlfriend and I flew Spirit for the first time on our way to Seattle and had no issues. Employees were very friendly and check in and boarding was straightforward like any other airline. It's a budget ala carte airline, so nothing is included in the flight price except for one carry-on personal item. The seats on the plane don't recline, snacks and beverages are not complimentary, and using the lavatory costs 50 cents.... Just kidding on the last one. The seats were a bit snug, especially with a slightly larger gentleman sitting next to me on our layover flight from Vegas to Seattle, but it wasn't unbearable. Some of the flight attendants were pretty funny with their safety talks and they did an amazing job of handling a medical emergency that one lady had on our flight into Seattle. The paramedics escorted her off the plane as soon as we arrived at the terminal. The pilots landed the plane smoothly, our luggage arrived intact, and flights took off on time. We actually landed a bit early too. No real major complaints except for the cost of the tickets...around $450 round trip after taxes for each of us with one checked bag. We were expecting cheaper, but whatever. It was the cheapest option at the time. I'd fly Spirit again as long as the price is right. read more

If I could select lower then a 1 I would. Last year for my bday I had purchased 2 tickets to Atl, but due to Covid my flight was canceled and I was given a voucher. This year for my b-day I went to book a new flight, but a supervisor had to become involved to authorize the trip. He created a new reservation from what I had. I was getting emails for both flights and I was concerned so I called them and they said it was ok, the one I created was no longer valid and the one that mattered was the one created by the manager. Long story short when I didn't show up I was charged $268.3/ to my card as a no show and now they will not give me back my money and no matter what time I call, I can not speak to a live person only through text messaging and I have been trying since April.This is very unprofessional and unacceptable. read more
