After a brief hiatus in 2020 due to COVID, the event returned in 2021 in a smaller format at The Backyard before expanding to larger venues like Revolution Live and the War Memorial Auditorium. I recently attended the Indie Craft Bazaar at the historic War Memorial Auditorium, which has just undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation by the Florida Panthers. The venue--flexible enough to host concerts and large-scale events--was the perfect setting. The bazaar runs from 12-5 PM and features over 95 vendors, with free admission and parking. It's also very family-friendly. I had a great time browsing a wide variety of handmade, artisan, vintage, and locally made goods. There was everything from jewelry, live plants, and clothing to crystals, candles, bath products, accessories, stickers, crochet flowers, baked goods, and stationery. One standout for me was the upcycled concert T-shirts from Backstage Trends. They also offer fun extras like free swag bags for the first 100 guests, DIY activities, and food and drinks from The Federal. Plus, you can even go ice skating next door at the Baptist Health IcePlex. It's easy to pair the Indie Craft Bazaar with other activities in Holiday Park and make a full day of it. Prices seemed a bit steep for the glass blown ornaments at $24.99, but the red thin glass balls were reasonable at $14.99 - also these were the larger size. Every single person I came in contact with was diligent and smiling. Some of the displays were huge and would require the front living room of a mini mansion. I originally stopped in just to browse, but before long I was grabbing a cart. The store carries liquidation merchandise from retailers like Macy's, Home Depot, Nordstrom, Old Navy, and Target. You'll find everything from food, produce, meat, wine and pantry staples to party supplies, cleaning products, clothing, accessories, and more. My haul included eggs for 99¢, shirts for $2.99, candy for the kids at camp, Goody hair accessories(because in this South Florida heat, you can never have too many ways to put your hair up!, plus sauces and seasonings that would have cost much more at a traditional grocery store. They had $1.99 ready to eat meals that would be great for hurricane prep. One of my favorite finds was a Japanese Dipping Sauce that I always wanted to try but retailed for $10 and today I paid just 99¢. I am also excited to try the La Colombe Coffee. It is a lower sugar latte. Online it retails for four cans for $9.99. Here I got 12 cans for the same price. The prices at Lobo's are incredible. But I will say that the prices are pretty competitive, but the only downfall is that a lot of the items or many of the items are expired. So you really have to look hard. I would say if the prices were a little bit lower and they kept the same expired items, it would be better But it is what it is. It's definitely a fun fine and they have some great unique options. I do recommend checking out the lines because it is a great value.
