They had the tasting in a back room which was full of "regulars" who obviously attend these functions regularly. The hosts, Tim and Tracy, were welcoming and knowledgeable about the wines. It was a bit of a drive, so I don't know how often we will come, but if we are in the area, we will definitely come back to try some wines! read more

I received a wine club membership to Small Wine Shop for Christmas, and cannot say enough good things about this small business. First of all, the owners, Tim and Tracy, are so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. They welcome all with open arms, will find you the perfect wine for your tastes, and just generally have awesome customer service. Next, the WINE! What a great selection of natural wine. So much variety! Unique styles, unique countries. If you're an expert, pick for yourself. We prefer telling Tim what we're looking for and letting him choose the perfect match. Finally, the ambiance. Hip and modern, but still comfortable. We've been a few times during slow hours, and their sweet dog will be curled up on the mid century modern couch. Besides wine, there are other wine related goodies for sale. It's worth it to note, as of 2024 they no longer sell wine by the glass or food, and have gone back to being more of just a shop. But you can go in and do a tasting of the 4 wines of the week. Other great options are their weekly tastings with experts to teach you about the wines, and the monthly food pairing event! read more

So happy we found this perfect little natural wine shop during our stay in the Fort Lauderdale area! We just happened to drive by and I could tell it was my vibe just from the outside. I looked them up on Yelp and sure enough, 5 stars and exactly what I was looking for. We stopped in for an afternoon glass of wine. The owner Tim greeted us and allowed us to sample a few of the bottles they had open. I went with a crisp glass of bubbly and enjoyed the company of the cutest shop pup named Auggie. He was so chill laying on the sofa, soaking up the sun... what a life! It's pretty quiet in the shop on weekday afternoons, but by the looks of their IG, they host a lot of fun evening events and tastings. Love love love! This place is a real gem- about to move into the Gateway center on Sunrise, I am SO glad my friends introduced us to this shop. The owners are incredible, hardworking and knowledgeable. I have been to a few of their events now that are unique and incredible! I experienced a nice wine tasting this past Friday at this hip wine store, where one can buy a bottle, chill out and talk with owners Tim and Tracy. They were so friendly and accommodating that I can't wait to come back with a friend or two and pop a few bottles, listen to music and chit chat with my friends.. Tim's stories about each wine were informative and spot on. He made some great recommendations. I purchased a bottle of Lambrusco Di Modena, Frizzante Secco. It's a sparkling red that's certified organic by ICEA. It was refreshing, with a very light carbonation. One year later Tim and Tracy continue to make the Fort Lauderdale wine scene a better place. I have had two exceptional experiences here...when you ask around you will discover they are simply the talk of the town. It all started when a friend persuaded me to join her for their meet the winemakers event, I had never heard of The Small Wine Shop prior even though they are walking distance from me in Flagler Village. Lucky me! I loved the event and experience so much (in addition to their fantastic selection of wine) I decided to organize a private event. The event sold out in a matter of weeks at max capacity for 26 attendees! They customized the event for us. We opted for one of their Sunday school type classes which is an informative and fun class on wine that includes 6 3oz pours and a small charcuterie! Seriously Sicilian was a hit. We had fun while learning and drinking wine. All the wines showcased were available for purchase. Clean and organic wines you'll feel good about. A win win. I heard about this establishment through an event and am so happy that I attended. The owners were very warm, welcoming and knowledgeable about the wines. The atmosphere was very relax and fun. The owner talked about all the events that they have going on. On certain days there is some type of theme to enjoy. There is a cool record player that you can play vinyl and sip wine. There is also a day that you can work and sip wine. Seems like a cool way to sample wines and meet great people. We sampled three wines, a dry Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The fruit in the Riesling really came through although the wine was dry. It was light and crisp. I really enjoyed it. The Chardonnay was also a great wine. The Pinot Noir was a lighter red wine that tasted really good. As a plus, we sampled a dessert wine that was so rich and sweet and I couldn't leave without a bottle. read more

Hands down, this is my new favorite place in Flagler Village. The owners are so knowledgeable about wine, but there's no pretentiousness about this shop, which is incredible. I had such a great time at the small wine shop. They did what they called the "buzzed bee" competition on Friday night which is essentially a spelling be with wine. You pay $15 and they pour you a glass, then every time it's your turn and you spell a word correctly they pour you another glass. I got through 4 rounds and man was I buzzing! They offered a variety of wines depending on your taste and I tasted different ones each time and they were all good. The one I like most was called orange. The place was pretty mellow when we arrived because we got there early but as soon as 8:00 hit it was packed with contestants. This seems like a nice place for after work drinks or a relaxed night out. There aren't many tables so on a regular night I'm not sure how busy they get but I will definitely be returning to find out. They also have a lot of cute wine related gifts for purchase so if you're buying for a wine lover, this is your spot. Friends... there is a reason Small Wine Shop was voted best wine shop in Ft. Lauderdale. I initially came in for a local Yelp event tasting which turned into us staying and drinking more wine! Figures... lol! I subsequently purchased tickets for their monthly wine tasting event in October which was phenomenal. So good in fact that I purchased tickets for the November even that same day. Tim and Tracy are so incredibly knowledgeable and who wouldn't love their shop pupper as well. I especially loved this wine shop because I found out a few years ago that I'm severely allergic to oak which is what 99.9% of most wines are aged in. They have SO MANY options that I can drink without the worry that I'll have an allergic reaction. And the wines are amazing! They have brands of small batch wines that I've never even heard of before that are as good, if not better, than what's being sold commercially. The atmosphere in the shop is so relaxing. They do not serve food but welcome you to bring in your own bites to sit and sip the night (or day) away. They also house some really great local vendors wares that you can purchase as well. Their shop is so homey and lovely I subsequently want them to stay small and hidden but also want to tell everyone about it because it's so great. Tim and Tracy really know their wines and business.  My husband and I  arrived and we were greeted by Augie, their very friendly dog.  If you are afraid of dogs, please don't be.  I am sure that the owners will ask Augie to sit in the back while you have time to enjoy a sample of their wines.  Don't think you can go to the grocery store to pick up one of their bottles.  You can't.  Their wine selection is unique and many of the wines cater to those that are vegan.  However, you will be able to find many of these at our local wine stores for cheaper.  Why would you pay more?  These are the factors.  My husband and I bought a bottle to drink at the store.  Augie sat at my side while the owners shared their love for wine with us.  You can't get that at a big box store.  My pictures will show the loot that we took home and we can't wait to come back for another sit down with Augey and the owners.  They have a special.  On Wednesdays, they have $5 wines and another special on Thursdays.  Please, please...support this local wine shop.  They truly care about your palate and won't steer you wrong.  Welcome to Fort Lauderdale!! read more
