About a month ago I sent an email asking if I could come look at their costumes. It says on their…read morewebsite they do "individual costume rentals". I am looking for a halloween costume wanted to browse what they have, but also want to find a separate 1800s dress that I could possibly get made or ordered (this one would have been the need for an appointment because I want to but it not rent it). It then says on the site due to covid "If at all possible, please make sure to call us for an appointment before coming in" I asked about an appointment for the 1800 dress. They replied "we do not have time for individual costumes at this time!! I asked back do I have to have an appointment or can we like a regular shop just come browse and look around, pick a costume on out own. No reply for a month. Finally I decided to just stop by. The door says they are open, the door is locked and a sign says appointment only!! I feel like I stopped by years ago around 2018-19 hoping to find a costume and it said the same on the door. But they will not put that on their website, or reply to an email asking. Because their website is very unclear. Because "If at all possible, please make sure to call us for an appointment before coming in" suggest you can also just come in to browse. Extremely sad. I do hope another shop opens up around here with real costumes! Since Lucy in disguise closed, there is nothing within many hours that I know of with options.

For the quality of the merchandise they are a bit overpriced but that is to be expected in a mall retailer. Most of the employees seemed rather bitchy tonight when we went and need an attitude adjustment. We had to open up the resealable bag for the costume to see the length of the costume next to my daughter and the employee snapped at us and said that we had to go to the fitting rooms. At the fitting room area the employees take your merchandise and empty the contents into a small shopping basket. The costume that we were checking out had a wig and when we advise the employee that we needed to see the wig the employee very aggressively said "You don't need the wig; it stays." The employees should have a reminder of the reason that they are there and get in a better Halloween spirit. It really puts a kill switch on your mood when you go there feeling festive but regret giving your money to an establishment that doesn't seem to appreciate your hard earned bucks. For a seasonal store employees should be more courteous and not act like they're working for free year round. Don't ever forget who pays your salary and get the witch broom out of your behind.

I went right in to buy a lot of them to give away to relatives for Chinese New Year. I also bought extras to display around our home with our Chinese New Year Decorations. It was great knowing that I didnt have to scrounge around Chinese New Year to find what I needed. Plus Party City gives a whole lot more than buying it from other places like Sees candies. They sell them too but they run out fast and youll be lucky if you could get a hold of their signature boxes. Party City gives more and its a whole lot cheaper. I like that. This coming Chinese New year, I will buy more and even give away to more other extended family and friends. I like to add a bag of mandarin oranges with some almond cookies.
