And the service.... I have to just say WOW ! I was given advice about a western look that I was asked to wear and I was so clueless and those ladies got me together! I actually felt cute and confident because they let me know what was appropriate for the type of event I was attending and I was clueless! Thanks ladies! And the price was way lower than I expected! Especially for such quality items! And I had to take time to make this review because this makes the SECOND time I've had exceptional service there. My daughter had a Michael Jackson themed birthday party in December and I rented a Thriller jacket from them and was the talk of the party! Please don't even consider going anywhere else for a special event ensemble! They truly are the best!

I ended up getting a mask for me and my wife and clip on earrings which came in clutch because clip on earrings are hard to find. Tracy was very helpful with helping me select the items I needed. I stopped in for a few Gender Reveal party items and to purchase a balloon bouquet. The staff were helpful and made picking out the balloons easy. I found the other party items I needed (cups, napkins, pins, and some cute decor) and said I'd be back to pick up the balloons in about half an hour or so. They were ready when I arrived and looked adorable. They have something for every single occasion in this store and it's a great one stop shop for party items and balloons. It looked a bit empty but maybe that's bc of Halloween - easy in and out with a traffic light on busy VA Beach Blvd so that helps. I'll def. come here again.

This location is super convenient and parking isn't too bad either. The line can sometimes be super slow, but I believe the employees do their best to move the line as fast they can. I do not believe this location has a clearance section, if so, I haven't found it. But other locations do, so keep your eyes open for that. You just may find something you didn't even know you needed or wanted :) Check them out if you are in the area. Other shopping is nearby such as: Food Lion, Dollar Tree and Burlington. If you're hungry a few eateries are within walking distance too. Have fun and enjoy life :)

But as of a few months ago I guess it was waiting for someone to occupy and that's where Halloween City comes in to play. I believe the Halloween City has been here and opened for at least 2 maybe 3 weeks now. And I must say I do believe this is a first for Portsmouth, VA. It seemed like before, Halloween City locations were set up in every city in Hampton Roads except Portsmouth. But no need to fret any longer Halloween City is here and they're fully stocked. Well it looked like they were to me. The workers were standing by to offer any assistance. And the manager or owner of the store was jovial from the moment I walked in until the time I left. And he promised me a coupon when I return next time! Now I must say, it was maybe 2 handfuls of guests shopping last night so crowd control was superb for the workers. I can only imagine as the holiday nears it's going to be craaazy getting into there. And parking is decent right now. But as volume increases not sure how the parking will hold up... It'll be interesting to see. Nevertheless, go shop now while most sizes are still available and parking isn't an issue. They're offering 20% off of a single item (coupon needed). Costumes for everyone are here. Masks! Tats! Decor! Just go see. The spacing of the aisles are ok. Some areas are tight in maneuvering, but it's not a huge deal. It's Halloween it's all fun anyway. So squeeze through those aisles and enjoy your browsing or shopping experience! ! I'm just excited it's a new location and it's in Portsmouth! ! There is ample parking available at this shopping center. My visit here was on October 16, 2022. Spirit Halloween is only open for a few months out of the year, but their online site is available year round. This place is normally open in September, October, and a portion of November. You can find the best deals and sales after Halloween based on past experience at other locations. I don't normally go in to these stores to get anything for Halloween, but I figured I'd check out this location since I had gotten a few coupons from them in the mail over the past month or so. Since they are only open a small portion of the year, the storefront is pretty simple in terms of signage at the location. Once you come inside though, you definitely feel like you are in Halloween. They have several displays in here, as well as lots of things. They have quite the assortment of costumes for Halloween. They have lots of other items that go along with Halloween too, including fog machines, spooky lights including those for paths, and more. The store is laid out in such a way that you will likely end up looking through the entire store. Overall, this was a nice place to look at Halloween options and some inspiration too. They have lots of items to choose from. They did have a limited staff here, but the one I worked with at the register was good. From a pricing standpoint, their prices tend to be higher than other places that are around year round. In the end though, if you are looking for some inspiration or a few items here, it is still worth looking at, as some of these items have not been seen in other places.
