Mother of the bride also chose to have a custom made dress. We were all very disappointed with the process and the final products which were received. We paid premium dollars for a custom fitted gown so we'd each have a perfect fit, but all were ill fitting. The gowns were two pieces, consisting of a long skirt and a corset top. The claps on 2 of the skirts fell off and had to be sewn on, and there was no zipper closure on the skirts. Two of the skirts were made too small (even though we went in for several fittings), and V-shaped panels were sewn in which didn't lay flat and looked sloppy and terrible. The tops didn't fit properly. One girls' top was so short, that her midriff was showing, which understandably lead to her being upset and embarrassed. The corset tops should have been made with room so that there was a few inches for the lacing on the back to be seen. But all of the bridesmaids tops were laced up so that both sides were touching (they were made too big), defeating the purpose of the look. More frustrating was the overall process. All of the girls initially went for fittings in April (for a November wedding). The dresses were not ready until a week or so before the wedding. Lady Gwendolyn is a one person shop, so while we're sympathetic to the fact that she became ill, it seemed that the dresses did not get attention until the last minute. Our overall feeling is that formal gowns are not Lady Gwen's specialty, and a lot of heartache could have been spared if she had been more up front with her skill set.

I was recently involved in a Renaissance themed wedding, and the bride and groom had met Lady…read moreGwendolyn at the PA RenFaire and purchased their wedding attire through her a year before the wedding. Their outfits were brand new, beautiful, and mended to fit them perfectly, so if you are purchasing clothing from Lady Gwendolyn you will be pleased. The bride and groom decided that the bridal party and parents would also rent their Renaissance attire through Lady Gwendolyn, which is what this complaint is about. For $50 each, we would've been better off purchasing items from a Halloween costume store or website (many of the guests did, and they looked so much nicer). The bride is too nice to complain about things, but here are all the issues we had. We went to the shop at least 10 months before the wedding and should not have had the issues we did. First, the bride wanted her three bridesmaids in the same color. Not only did Lady Gwendolyn not have multiples of anything in the same color, but she didn't even have outfits to fit the three women, who are average sized women between sizes 8 and 14. One bridesmaid's outfit seemed fine and fit her well. The maid of honor's dress was too small and had black silk fabric pinned across her back and tied with a ribbon that didn't match the dress. Several of the buttonholes were missing hardware, and there was at least one rip in the side seam at the hip. The third bridesmaid was told she would have a vest made to match the skirt the bride picked. About a month before the wedding an e-mail was sent asking about the status of the vest - the only response was that the bridesmaid mentioned the wrong shade of blue. That should've been a red flag, but the bride wasn't worried. 3 weeks before the wedding, the bride is told Lady Gwendolyn couldn't get the fabric to make the vest and the bridesmaid would have to wear a different outfit that was not previously tried on. When the bride and groom picked up the outfit, they were told since the skirt was long, it would need to be hemmed by the bridesmaid (but done so that it could be removed after the wedding). In addition, the skirt was incredibly wrinkled and had to be ironed before the wedding. The vest was a different style than the other bridesmaid and not what we were expecting. The mother of the groom had a shirt that went under her dress that had a stain on it. The groomsmen didn't complain much, but they also changed immediately after dinner. The mother of the bride had tried a hat on with her dress but was told the week of the wedding that it was unavailable. The father of the bride had requested a medallion and scepter with his outfit, and these were also unavailable. We tried to keep our complaints and lack of comfort from the bride and groom because no one wanted to give them stress on their day, but many of us were extremely unhappy with the service given. I feel Lady Gwendolyn is better suited for renting costumes for day use at the RenFaire, but I would not recommend her for a wedding. I feel the couple took second place to the RenFaire which appears to be her main business - but this is someone's wedding day, we were paying a lot of money for everything, and this should've taken priority over a person renting a costume to wear around the woods for a day. Items should've been repaired, stains removed, and more advance notice should've been given for the missing items and outfit that was unable to be completed as promised.

My kids have only known Chez. I was hoping they would love it here, but I am glad I got them out…read morebefore more damage was done. This studio is so full of drama, cattiness and spite. It has gone downhill over the last few years. The fact that people have been at Chez for so long and are now running away in droves should tell you something. Parents dictate what they want, and the studio caters to the few who have the loudest voice. If you want to get anywhere here, make yourself available to the owners personally. They will accept the poorest of behaviors as long as it benefits them. Find a place that lifts your kids up, not tears them down. Find a place where your kids will be nurtured and their voices heard, not pushed away and screamed at for actually attending classes. Newer teachers have zero classroom control and seasoned teachers look so beat up by the owners they are just hanging on. It has been a sad decline. It is not the same atmosphere as it was 5 years ago. There are plenty of other studios out there.

If 0 stars was an option I would choose it. After reading reviews on here and one being from 2012,…read moreit is hard to believe nothing has changed. This studio was once viewed as the best but more and more I find many people are completely dissastisfied, including me. The studio owner and one of her daughters continue to think they are God as it was posted in another review. It is awful how they treat their students. They completely beat down and damage the self esteem of most of their dancers, my child included. I have witnessed first hand the inappropriate comments by the teachers and the tears of the students that stem from such comments. It is okay if teachers miss classes for personal events but the kids are shamed for doing so. They have no respect for these young girls and ladies. There are a handful of teachers there that seem to really care. There are others that carry on the abusive way of the owner and seem to get joy out of making kids feel poorly about themselves. There is nothing that could keep me there. The reputation of the studio has plumented and there are much better studios in the town as well as neighboring towns. My daughter found a new love of dance once we switched her.

Yes, the price is a bit of an investment, but it is worth every dime and then some. She was on time, super professional and easy to work with, and made sure everyone who wanted a balloon got one, including a few adults. She got the kids excited and kept their attention the whole time she was there. She also had a lot of the adults getting their phones out to take videos of her making the balloons because they were so amazed. And the balloons themselves... How does someone come up with this stuff? They were incredible. People expected swords and dogs, not rattles with light up balls and erasers inside, spidermen that couldve been dolls, and fish on poles. From the crazy hats to the princess crowns to my husband's laser gun, everything she churned out was so cool and different. We'd hire her again in a heartbeat. From booking to event, it was easy and fun and I can't wait to have another reason to use this company again.

By chance, I read about The Telegram Girl and the services they provided and decided to give them a try - what a positive experience! My initial contact with The Telegram Girl was via email and within less than an hour I received a detailed response - I was very impressed with the response time and their willingness to handle all of my special requests. That same day we spoke on the phone and all details were finalized and contract completed - a very smooth transaction. My main need was to have one of the members of The Telegram Girl's team dress up as David Byrne and sing "Burning Down The House" - the guest of honor's favorite song. No problem at all! In total, I booked 4 singers from The Telegram Girl to sing at the party - Freddie Mercury (singing "Another Year Bites The Dust"), David Byrne (singing "Burning Down The House"), Dorothy (singing "Over The Rainbow"), and The Scarecrow (singing "If Only I Had A Brain"). At the party, The Telegram Girl team of singers arrived on time and the fun started. Everyone was so surprised! Each singer did a great job with not only their singing but also interacting with the guests and the guest of honor. I could not have been happier with their promptness, personalities, and professionalism - well worth every penny. If you're looking to add a little fun to your next event, then give The Telegram Girl a try. I know I will be using them again when the occasion arises. Thanks again to The Telegram Girl for helping me pull off a great party!
