Yelp limits a user's categorization of a shop like this one to "thrift stores" but this is less a thrift shop than a high end consignment and gift business with remarkably affordable prices. Yes, you read that correctly: Owner Joanne Rebold is very intentional about her inventory and very price conscious. She understands that moving stock is more important than storing it. That's rare these days, isn't it? The premises are remarkably clean, beautifully well organized and appointed and appropriately lighted. At the front of 2 Friends you'll find an excellent selection of women's, men's and children's clothing, and arranged for convenient browsing. What you won't find at 2 Friends are ripped stitches, tears or moth holes in anything Joanne sells because she's meticulous about condition. To the left of the entrance stands a lovely (and often asked about) china cabinet full of crystal, dishware and fine porcelain. Among today's takeaways were a Beleek china bud vase for twelve (!) dollars, typically priced at $65.00 to $75.00 elsewhere (check Rubylane if you don't believe me). Now, take a deep breath, backtrack and read that sentence again. This sort of shopping find is rarer than hens' teeth on the ground these days. Dig a little more deeply into the china cabinet and you'll find full sets of designer dishware (Pfaltzgraff stoneware, Royal Worcester tea sets), cut crystal (today's visit turned up sparkling Waterford and Wexford sets) and Royal Danish holiday pieces all elegantly presented and priced to sell. Keep walking through this immaculate store and you'll pass designer handbags, vintage women's hats from the twenties and thirties (I counted no fewer than a half dozen cloches, smartly displayed), jewelry, brass, flatware, toys and on and on. You never know what you'll find so stop by often. Joanne's stock changes daily and her consignment traffic is high. What sets 2 Friends apart from so many other neighborhood consignment shops is that Joanne offers high tea for groups in an ever-evolving, ever improving back room. The 2 Friends "tearoom" is already booked weeks in advance for reading groups, local women's organizations and product demonstrations so be sure to make your reservations early because her calendar is filling up quickly. Parking is a little bit of a challenge because meters line the lot out front. However, there's ample free parking a hundred yards past the store on Woodland so keep heading west until you find a spot. 2 Friends is tucked into a row of stores flanking the Drexel Hill Post Office and set in the business district of historic downtown Aronimink. If you're planning a consignment junket to the Main Line remember to add 2 Friends to your itinerary. You won't be disappointed. Hakim's is a great example of this. Hakim's has hands down THE BEST children's book section for Black children. They had so many children's books that I'd never even seen, along with the classics. It actually made me a little emotional to see how many wonderful books are now available for Black kids -- I wish we'd had these when I was a child. If you have a Black or brown child (or know a Black or brown child) you need to go to Hakims.

We had a timed reservation and the hosts were ready with our table when we arrived. We had also specified that we are vegetarian, so they adjusted some of the offerings to make sure they were veggie friendly. Honestly, great job not only substituting but making sure it's still a delicious dish by adding in things when other items were taken out! Everything was so delicious and the tea was stellar! My only requirements were that the flowers were colorful, included sunflowers and were more modern and organic -- other than that, Tolani had free reign. Tolani took off with my ideas and brought her artistry to the forefront, she included seasonal blooms and had fun with the bouquets and extra design elements. She is a true artist that approaches her work with intention, care and thoughtfulness. The one particularly special stand out was the design she did to honor my late dad. After we talked through some inspiration, Tolani created a beautiful remembrance chair full of foliage and flowers to accompany a photo of my dad at our ceremony. I cried so much when I saw it the day of my wedding -- it was so lovingly done and meant so much to me and my family. Everyone was blown away by it. Tolani really listened to our needs and was flexible with us as we had a limited budget. She also moved with us to our new date when we had to postpone due to the pandemic and allowed us to purchase our own vases instead of renting them so people could take them home. I am very grateful to Tolani and her team who infused our wedding day with so much brightness and fun through their florals. Snapdragon Flowers was recommended by a friend who utilized Tolani's services for her wedding and I am so glad that my husband and I were able to work with her for our own wedding! Even the "organic" section didn't inspire confidence and looked questionable at best. Noticeably better quality for organic at similar or lower prices at Aldi or Lidl. The worst part was the raspberries: every single one of the four containers I bought had mold growing in the bottom layers. That's not a minor quality issue - that's outright unacceptable for produce being sold for consumption. At that price point, it would have been more cost-effective to buy fewer, higher-quality containers at Whole Foods rather than four unusable ones Overall, the produce quality is extremely poor and freshness seems like an afterthought. I regret buying from here again, and I won't be making that mistake in the future.

You see back in the day Aaron O. came up with a Philly Yelp drinking game where people would have to drink whenever a certain Yelper said something on a thread or review. While I don't remember too many of the details for others I definitely remember that people had to drink whenever I talked about Clark Park. While I had a good laugh and told him that it would probably give some people a good buzz, I also said that people would get a lot more hammered if they had to drink whenever I referred to myself in the first person as McThrill. I'm sure you can figure out where this is going. But after giving a good 25 minutes of deliberation as to what 700 was going to be, and realizing that Flea Market season in Clark Park is kicking off again, I figured why not and decided to make this review a little more optionally interactive. And that's why this review is going to be done to the tone of a drinking game -1-! The rules are pretty simple since they only involve drinking whenever "Clark Park" and "McThrill" is typed from this point forward. Have fun and remember to forward any cheers and hangover jeers towards Aaron for giving me such a silly idea in the first place. And now without further adieu I bid you Kanpai - It's no secret that McThrill(1) loves Clark Park(2). He has already dropped reviews on Clark Park(3), The Clark Park(4) Dog Bowl, and The Clark Park(5) Farmer's Market. You'll also find many instances of McThrill(6) declaring his love for Clark Park(7) in the talk threads. But McThrill(8) decided to save the best thing for last, because next to it's amazing fests like Best Fest, the flea market might just be the best thing about Clark Park(9). McThrill(10) loves running around the park in search of sweet used books and clothes to give a new home too. But McThrill(11) especially loves the fact the Beautiful World Syndicate hooks Clark Park(12) up with it's vast selection of vinyl, CDs, and movies. And don't make McThrill(13) get started on the incredible steals he has gotten on things like a coffeemaker ($1!) and a Foreman Grill ($8!). Throw in the colorful assortment of regular vendors, and the interesting cause that it supports, and it goes without saying that McThrill(14) loves the Clark Park(15) Flea Market! -1- Drinking isn't really encouraged for this review and it's all in good fun. But if you decide to have fun and drink responsibly.
