I have received many types of massage, but this was my first watsu experience, and it was wonderful. When I first stepped into the water it was very warm, and I felt myself begin to relax. I slipped in the earplugs Guacira provided, and she strapped on a couple buoyancy floats to my legs, and as I eased into a floating position, I felt the normal world drop away. Guacira had suggested to let go of my thoughts and as I did this I realized I was slipping into a kind of primal meditation. We all start by swimming in the womb, and I had also spent many years as a small child swimming in the ocean, so I loved this guided massage where I felt like a dolphin. It felt fantastic to be completely taken care of and pampered in this way - Guacira's massage is subtle and gentle - guiding me into deeper levels of relaxation. The transition back to the real world was lovely and slow and I was able to carry that relaxed feeling with me. Truthfully speaking, I am a bit shy when it comes to going and getting a massage done, because I am a bigger woman. I took a chance and went to Spirit in Harmony Center, and met the most caring lady (Guacira). She made me feel so relaxed and comfortable in her room, and the atmosphere was so calming and inviting. Her touch was magical as she worked at my tough knots around my shoulder blades and lower back, and I was in Heaven when she worked the knots out of my neck and head. I suffer from many headaches due to, too many knots and tight muscles throughout my neck and back. She even could tell I was not drinking enough water throughout the day, because of the crackling way my muscles moved beneath her massages. I have been searching for a good massage therapist in the Front Range area for a long time. I was specifically looking for someone trained in myofascial release. Previous work has been disappointing. I am a retired LMT and its been hard to find someone who has had good training and experience. Had an at home massage done a little while ago. It was magical and just what I needed after I was roughly rear-ended in a car accident.
