Sadly, this place changed hands about a year-and-a-half ago and it has gone downhill ever since. Starting with the property, the previous owners kept the grounds almost spotless. The new owners have let everything, the grounds, the landscaping, fall into terrible disrepair. And if the nature of your business is such that you are seeking to cater to people who take pride in their property, I think the new owners are clearly not making a good impression. But -- it is of course the service that they provide that matters most and that is where things have really gone to pot. Shortly after the new owners took over I went in for a detailing and the kid locked himself out of my car. I had to call my wife who came with our second key to unlock the vehicle. No words of apology to me or my wife for that inconvenience; just a sheepish shrug of the shoulders. Then, when the job was completed I discovered as I was leaving the property that my mats were missing. So I drove back and asked for them. The kid doing the work removed them from the wall where they had been cleaned and put them in my car. Again, no apology. Upon my second visit, maybe three months ago, I made a point of asking the young man to whom I gave the car to please make sure the ashtray in the center console is emptied of trash and cleaned properly. He gave me a look as if to say "of course; the car is being detailed for Heaven's sake." But, when the car was returned to me that ashtray was closed and as dirty as it was when I gave it to them. I again had to drive back to the lot, drive around back, and find someone to clean it out. The employee I spoke to at that time just said "The other guy didn't tell me to clean that." Good grief. Finally, there was today's experience. I paid $32 for a car wash with wheel treatment and express carpet cleaning. When I came out of the wash the guy who normally hand dries the cars did not do so, apparently because my car was being sent around to the detail area. (Huh?) But that's where it sat for at least ten minutes, wet, with spots forming on it while one young man worked feverishly on another car and three other employees stood together gabbing with one another. And the car-drying guy, with towels in his hands, had nothing to do. Eventually, when it became apparent to me that I would be late to a meeting in Hartford because it always takes them 20 minutes to do their detail work and the one productive employee hadn't even started on my car, I walked over to my car and got in and left. With my car still dripping with water. A few minutes later I called the business from the road to say that while the decision to leave before the detailing that I paid for was performed was clearly my own, the least I should have gotten for my $32 was a dried car. But before I could even get that far, the young woman who answered the phone ripped in to me for "not even letting her guys do their job." Really -- attitude? This business, under these new owners, is headed down a bad road. And given the hree experiences I've had with them in the last year or so, I say good riddance. read more

The addition of the new wash tunnel is fabulous. I operate a delivery service and having my delivery vehicles looking clean and sharp helps. Tom and his crew do a consistently great job at this. Now that the vacuums are included in my monthly account is a great perk. My drives appreciate the ease of being able to keep the interiors clean as well. The only thing I miss is the wipe down crew at the end. It was nice to have the back of the vans dried off and the rear view mirrors put back into place. We were always happy to tip the crew at the end who were always happy and enjoyed interacting with the customer. My drivers have started calling a trip to the car wash as "Being Fomenated". I thought it was great at first but with the ever- changing employees the services continues to decline! I have a monthly subscription car wash but I'm not sure its worth it anymore. The new employees are not cutting it and the reviews are dead on the poor service. read more

I refuse to go back here. Their self-wash runs on quarters and their change machines are never working. Finding an operator to give you change is difficult, and each time they act surprised when you ask for change. They need to either go to credit card-based payment, or they need to make sure their machines are ALWAYS stocked. Washing your car shouldn't be this frustrating. read more

Disorganized. Poor customer service. Yesterday, I spoke to an associate to schedule interior detailing today for my Toyota Corolla at 11am. When I spoke to him yesterday, he told me 11am was the latest he could schedule me. He wrote down my car type, contact information and told me to get there by 11am. Today, I skipped the second of my 2 morning classes and rushed over to the car wash to make it by 11am. When I arrived, I was told that my service was never written on the schedule and that I should come back at 1:30pm today. No one called to let me know ahead of time. I received no apology for the inconvenience. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this car wash in the future. read more

The guy doing the scrub down of the back before the wash started spent less than 30 seconds on it, and the reason I came was to get some black stuff off the back of my car. I've been a monthly member here for over a year or so, and I just wanted to say that one gentleman in particular named Alex just did the best job ever wiping my car down. He was very thorough, he armor all's my tires and clean them up a little bit. I own my own company and I can say he's a Great employee ! I also tried the new car wash right down the street from here when they first opened and was not impressed So I decided I'll stick with these guys, Because wiping the vehicle off after and getting the missed spots makes a big difference read more

Bought a Groupon for a "Five star interior/exterior car detail". Had it done yesterday, and today I got a better look at the interior which had some spots that were disgusting. They left spot marks on my stereo dash. The stains I had on my seats were however mostly gone, although some minor spots which should have been cleaned without issue remain. Full price for this service is $225. I would be extremely pissed off if I received my car back in this condition after paying that. I guess for $122 I got the cheap service bc I had a groupon. (A friend of mine got sick in my car - I'm sure my car will be a topic of conversation in that place for a few weeks) when I called the following morning and explained how bad it was, Tom told me to just bring it in as soon as I could. They did rectify the situation - and nothing more. I still wouldn't recommend them because I made an appointment to fix the swirl marks on my car at 9:00am, I brought it in and walked around the area. I called at 12:00 and they hadn't started yet. I got the call on my car at 3:40pm. The manager said that they tell customers to bring their autos in at 8-9:00 and pick them up between 5-6:00. The first time I brought my car in, it was a Sunday, this time it was a Monday. I was told that maybe the reason the swirls were in the finish, was that I 'rushed' them. Also my go-to car wash.....I won't go anywhere else. I love that they have the self-service bays, as I prefer to wash my own car. Their hours are convenient, and the staff is always friendly. The only downside is that equipment (certain settings on the self-service bays, vending machines, vacuums, etc.) is frequently broken. If staff are present though, they are very quick to offer refunds or alternatives if that happens. read more

My go-to car wash...it's close, convenient, and the staff is competent. They have full detailing too, but i've never taken advantage of it. Recently they've changed their options on the cloth car wash to make them a little more streamlined, and for an extra few bucks ($8 i believe) they will do a quick detail on the inside of your car. I figured, why not...I was actually pleasantly surprised by how well the two workers cleaned my car, so I would recommend this service for someone who isn't willing to pay hundreds for a full detail. For after hours they also have the touchfree washes, but in my experience they don't get your car as clean (not just here, this applies to all touchfree). read more

I used to love this place but it has really gone down hill. After the most expensive wash, my car was still filthy around the door handles, the top of the hood and the top of the car around the sun roof. I paid for detailing as well, not inexpensive either -- and the bottom of the front window is filthy, the vacuuming poor and nothing appeared to be wiped down. I am going to try another place. I spent a substantial amount of the money for what was supposed to be their best services and the result was terrible. What a waste. Next time I will go to one of the places on Washington St. and try them. read more

I just got my car done with the Super Shine option. Even with two guys wiping it down at the end of the dry cycle my car was streaky and full of spots. The back/truck area was terrible. Not worth $12 at all. I will not go back. read more

I regularly bring my SUV to Classic for an express wash and vacuum. Today I was pleasantly surprised to see they have revamped their entire car wash set up...more soap, more foam...and only $12! I was giggling as I went through over the disco light show that I was experiencing...a nightclub feel if you will. For $12.76 , I didn't have my front grill or windshield cleaned off or the back tail gate bumper before heading thru the car wash. Needless to say, I had to ask the guy at the other end to wipe off the stuck on bird poop on the wind shield !!! What happened to the jet air that helps dry off the car as you exit? Despite having a nice new tunnel and access to free vacuum service, this place is awful. They are totally inept with any sort of add-on services. I have tried their 'express' interior detail 3 times. On every occasion, I've waited no less than 35 mins for what amounts to a crappy vacuum job and a cursory wiping of my dash. Then, I decided to try out a full exterior detail (@ $125). Booked the appointment with Jose (manager) and saw him write it down in their appointment book. Dropped the car off for 6 hours the next day. Upon pickup, I realized they gave me a full interior detail instead (which was not all that good either). Sooooo, after speaking with Jose, he promised me that he'd personally oversee the job of I have them another chance. Brought it back, walked across the street to DD for 90 mins, and came back to find Jose finishing up yet another interior detail. I was livid to say the least. He offered no apology what so ever. He quietly refunded me my $125 and I told him I will never return. This place used to be very good, but since they brought in new management and turned the stag cover, it has totally gone to crap. read more

Big business strikes again. This place USED to be great, now it seems SPLASH has taken over. Don't pay attention to the wash option sign when you pull in, it's "wrong" and now you get less service for the same prices. New gate/automated system really slows things down, and didn't give me a receipt. The guy in the bay asks how I got there and what I ordered, asks me for my receipt, which I never got. Not sure what wash I actually received, and the drying roller at the end broke my windshield wiper. I had to wait in the vacuum bay for them to get a wrench to fix it. The guy next to me knocks on the window to tell me the vacuum I'm parked next to isn't working. Thanks, but I'm only here because they broke my car. The "manager" comes out to fix my wiper, tells me I need a new one and to go buy one and bring back the receipt. Why didn't you just refund the cost of the wash (about $20), which is about what a new wiper would be? Oh yah, you didn't give me a receipt. And the "wash" left my car and all the cars pulling out of the wash around me still soapy and dirty. Go elsewhere or do it yourself! read more

The old owners were so clean and friendly. Since this place took over it's gone downhill. I paid to have a full detail and the entire experience was horrible. The windows had streaks all over them, the leather seats had a slick film on them and the outside had hard water stains all over them. I tried really hard to discuss the issues with the staff but most of them do not speak English so I had to come back the next day to discuss this with the owner. He gave me a full refund but I live in this town and it's horrible to see this place making a bad impression. They need to clean up the facility and make a better impression. read more

I went to Splash a couple of days ago and my rear windshield wiper was MISSING after I left the car wash. I was told that none of the vacuums were working and my car had a lot of streaks on it. I've gone twice in the last month and it's like the quality gets worse each time I visit, so it's needless to say I won't be back to this location. read more

I love the guys at Splash. They greet me by name, and make sure i am satisfied. I have a membership so I have a sparkling car every day. The membership is great, especially this time of year. Every few weeks I get an anterior clean and they always go above and beyond to make sure the car is spotless. I don't know why there are negative reviews. It's a great business in Cromwell and I encourage everyone to support it. read more

Second visit, both times the pay station kept my change. This time it kept and $10. The first visit the front attendant only prewashed the drivers side and the towel guy streaked the bird crap residue on the rear window and did not remove any of it. This visit both sides got prewashed. I did get my $10 in change with attitude. When I pulled to the towel guy he was drying a car at the vacuum area. When he made to me he just did a quick poor whip. ( The bird residue is still there ) I have trouble doing the car myself now due to illness and depend on carwashes to do a passable job. I don't expect it to be the way I would when I could, but come on guys... I will try the competition. read more

Everything about my experience was pretty great. The new pay stations make it all much simpler. You get exactly what you want. At the end, the car is hand dried. My last two visits to this car wash have been disappointing. They are under new management and the service has suffered. It seems that the line has been speeded up and the car now emerges covered in water droplets. One or two people are stationed at the auto wash exit to hand wipe the excess water off the car. First of all, I'm not one to write a review but from my last 3 experiences at this place one was definitely necessary to protect the public and their vehicles.This wash does irreversable damage to your car the way the brushes beat on your car as you go thru the tunnel. I made attemps to speak to a manager but the first time a disheveled looking lady just apologized over and over and offered me a free wash. I asked her to fix the problem first and she responded that she was too busy at the moment which was quite understandable being there were only 2 noticeable employees throughout this huge place. She informed me to come the next day and speak to her manager. So the next day i came in and looked for a manager. Low and behold, he was sitting in a hummer parked off in the back playing on his phone. I tried to get his attention but i guess he had a project on his phone to fix and i went unnoticed. I left and came back the next day and the young lady again was there to say her manager was off for the day. She again offered me a free wash but i declined and left. It seems like the people here really dont care about the customer or their vehicles and for that reason i go to a more gentler wash on. Rte 372 that will provide me with what im paying for. I have been going to this car wash for years. I especially like to go to that one, even though we have a nice one in Berlin, because they have the soft rinse. I know there are new owners but my review is strickly on the self serve cash wash. I went there today. My first attempt was to try to clean the tires with the tire cleaner function. That did not work. There was just a very little amount of liquid coming out of there and certainly not enough to clean the tires. The button on the unit is broken and it is very hard to make the selections. That button has been broken for months. The unit was dirty and a wall panel was acutually falling off.. The brush looked completely worn out. I didn't use it because I was afraid to damage my car. The hose was leaking. A lot of the water was falling on me and getting me wet. I was there about 3 weeks ago and that same hose was leaking then. When I went to that same unit today, I had forgotten I had a problem last time. Today I really got wet. I guess I could have just left the car wash, but after you pumped 12 quarters in the box, you want to get your car washed. Once I got home, I had to change my clothes and sneakers. The self service car wash has been neglected for months. I cannot speak for the other services since I don't use them. The owners should just try washing their car in there. This will be my last visit. They have had plenty of time to get their act together. I always like to rate a business in a positive way. I own a business myself and I can appreciate what reviews do. Over the years this place has gone down. It is a total rip off I promise I am not exaggerating. First there was the NO SOAP in the do-it-yourself wash area. That happened a few times - its conveniently near stores I utilize. Then there's the SPECIAL let us clean out your car for $10-30 on the quick. I fall for this every time and its been four times, and each time I am sorely disappointed. The dash board and consoles are never cleaned just wiped down. I go back...... Now today I go there 4/17/15 and its under new management. Same old tricks...I want the car cleaned out on the quick. I chose the $10 option, wipe the dash, vacuum the front and wash the mats. he said its $12 if I want the mats "power" washed. Okay I opt for the $12, he says to the fella and says, "power wash mats if needed". I said, what do you mean if needed that is an extra $2 so its needed He assured me oh sure no problem. Please, these ripoff artist are too many for me. I got in the car and was immediately disappointed in ME that I AGAIN went there and got duped. DO NOT GO THERE. Under new or old management its a rip off. it is a ripoff. The thing is this place will never improve because it is in a good location and there is not another one nearby. If I could l give less than one star I would. My son signed up for the monthly package of unlimited car washes. He has gone in person to cancel his membership, called them and emailed them numerous times to cancel, and they continue to take money out of his account! He even switched debit cards and had his number changed. They are stealing money!! read more

Great experience. Dropped off our Acura SUV the night before, and picked it up around 4 the next afternoon. We have two small children, so you know it was pretty abused inside. They did an excellent job, inside and out. We will definitely bring our vehicles back again. read more
