I went there for just an exterior quick wash, and the guy there convinced me to get a detail for an extra $34, for a total of $55. My interior WAS gross, so I went for it. It took about 35 minutes for the detail, then they drove my car through the auto car wash and hand dried it. They washed the windows by hand, and done. I will say, the car looked much better, and I'm happy I did it. That said, I would probably seek out a different place next time. I did not get BAD service, and everyone was super nice. But only 2/3 of my windshield was washed (still all gunk from the trees above my driveway on the right 1/3), and the back window was only half washed. It had all spray dried on it like the guy sprayed it but then forgot to wipe it down. As for the interior, they did a great job cleaning out all the gunk and vacuuming, but the interior was INCREDIBLY greasy, which is gross. My hands were sliding off the steering wheel all the way home. I have had plenty of detailings where they use stuff that is not sticky OR greasy, so this was a disappointment. Also, when I got home, I used a rag soaked in hot water to go over the interior surfaces I'd be touching (steering wheel and shifter, mainly) and this is what the towel looked like after rubbing down the steering wheel. I am certain this is dirt (vs whatever polish they use to clean the interior) because when I wiped down the greasy dashboard the towel was clean. A) I realize it is disgusting that my steering wheel was this dirty, but B) they clearly did not really wash it and just wiped it quickly with greasy polish. I would give it 5 stars for customer service, and I would say it's a great and convenient option if you just want a quick wash driving through the drive-thru, but I Would not get my car detailed there again. Man did I get HOOKED UP here! I went for the first time yesterday and I'm not sure why I haven't gone before since it is so close to home!! Not to mention, they do a fantastic job. So fresh and so clean clean! My poor car was way overdue, especially the inside, and these hardworking individuals made it look good as new, no lie! I paid a little extra for a hardcore interior cleaning using air drills, but I never expected the outcome to be what it is, and in such a short amount of time- I was in and out within a half hour! The waiting room/store inside was spotless and the cashier was very friendly. The shop had a plethora of air fresheners and accessories for your car as well as greeting cards and i-phone cases, which was unique to most car wash shops I've been in. There were also big comfy chairs and pretty plants to make for a homey feel while you wait for your car. This place also gives out lots of coupons and since it was customer appreciation week, I received $4 off my purchase and another coupon for $2 off my next wash (I love coupons!). I was in town this weekend, visiting family, who warned me ahead of time to "watch out for the up-sell". So I knew what to expect. Upon arriving I quickly decided on the $11 ($11.99?) wash. The attendant who wrote me up (brownish-blonde hair, stubble) immediately insisted I needed the $14 option because it was "only $3" and besides that I had "break dust" on my wheel covers. "Break dust" that wasn't coming off unless I paid $3 I guess? Does that $3 make the Splash water hotter? Make the Splash brushes spin faster? Are you Splash f'n kidding me? I declined. He persisted again and I declined again. He relented and wrote up my ticket. Which after stopping to grab a bottle of ginger ale I noticed was not for the $11 option. Or even the $14 option. One car wash and a bottle of ginger ale was setting me back $24. When I asked the cashier to explain my bill he insisted hat I "must have been in the wrong lane". That the attendant must have thought I wanted a full detailing. This after haggling over $3 earlier. Are you Splash f'n kidding? By then my car was being washed and I, *literally on my way to my aunt's funeral*, had no time to deal with brownish, blonde hair stubble. To top it all off, my car wasn't even detailed. They failed to even Armorall my tires. If there was ever an occasion for a zero star option. I will be disputing the $24 charge on my card. Decided to have my car detailed there today. Comfortable waiting room where you can even charge your cell. In terms of service, they did a great job but couldn't get the gum out of the carpet. The manager himself said that it could have been better so he refunded me part of what I paid. I will definitely be back because they are fair and good at what they do. read more

Monday afternoon... Not too busy, but still takes a long time to "negotiate" a confusing menu of expensive services and then even longer to pay. I'm hoping the results are worth the hassle of the customer service. It's disappointing that you can pay $40 and still get a basic wash. Just left after over an hour (!!!) the guy that drives my car up (super friendly) ends up wiping the dash down since they seemed to have forgotten to do this. The hatchback section of my outback was not vacuumed or wiped down, there are still grease marks on my rims, the sunroof is still dirty, and the leather seats are still dirty. I'm not sure what they were doing for over an hour, but it certainly wasn't paying attention to detailing the detail work.... Would not recommend or return. . read more

I never taken the time to write a review. However, after this experience I was more than inspired and compelled. I stopped by the car wash to get all the salt and dirt out of my vehicle. If you value your vehicle, especially newer ones, please find an alternative. After the car came out of the washing bay, the vehicle still had dirt, grime on the lower panels; under and near the handles, still more dirty; carpets as if they were never vacuumed; my dash was full of lint, dust and dirt; and yeah I earned a couple more scratches on my paint. Today I cancelled my unlimited full service membership after being a member for over a year due to the staff at the Hamden location. I was waiting in line to have a full service car wash completed when the car in front of me began to back up and struck my car. I was immediately bombarded by staff members telling me to move my car due to it blocking the flow of traffic. I notified the gentlemen that I was in the process of calling the cops to have a report filled. I was then told that it doesn't matter due to it being private property. They then suggested I send my car through the wash to keep the line moving. After I moved my car to the side I waited for the police to arrive and watch as the workers laughed and pointed in my direction. Went there yesterday with a 19.99 oil change/free car wash coupon. When it came time to pay they tried to add on a 19.95 air filter. I said no and he said "ok, must have been a mistake." Also on the bill was a $5 oil filter fee. Seems my plain old 2007 Chevy needs a special filter? Never needed one before.. Ok, so I'm not gonna get into a battle for 5 bucks. Said to the guy I won't be back and left it at that. Got in my car and drove to the car wash line. A real slick guy informs me that the wash is exterior only and tried to sell me the $34.95 special package. I said no, I just want the regular interior along with the wash. He replied he could do that for $10 extra dollars. I said wait a minute the sign says interior and exterior full service 14.99. How much is an exterior wash, he says 6.99 I say ok 15 bucks minus 7 bucks equals 8 bucks. He gave up on the fast talking stuff and told me to talk to the cashier. Went in and the cashier charged me 7.99. Too many little charges at Splash. Pretty shady stuff. I won't be back. read more

I paid for the hot wax + vacuum + exterior wash, they didn't vacuum my trunk. there was also still bird poop on my bumper which i told them about, and they said they couldn't get it off. Went home and wiped it off with a towel, it wasn't a tough spot at all to clean. person who took my car at the beginning of the wash charged me for a full interior detail that i never asked for... he tried to con me into paying for more. won't come back again edit: realized they also destroyed my auxiliary cord... they probably didn't notice it get caught under my car seat before they decided to move my seat around. read more

I went here today after the "snowmageddon" 2015 which resulted in a really dirty Jeep |||||| and a lot of salt on my car. They e mailed me a coupon for free salt treatment for the under belly of your car. The guy washing the car prior to entering did a wonderful job. He took the time to get every thing he could, and it was literally 10° outside. He was friendly and did a good job w attention to detail. The only downside was that bc I had the coupon, they make you go inside to pay. LAME. The cheshire location doesn't do that so maybe I was splash spoiled. I took both my wife's and my car here and they did an excellent job. They cleaned the door jams and they made sure the back of the cars were both cleaned, most car washes miss the back middle bumper. They have a team of people waiting for the cars to come out of the wash in order to ensure the cars a cleaned to perfection. I had some dead bugs on the front of the car, they made sure to clean them off. My cars looked like they were leaving the showroom floor. Great job Splash team. Great Service and helpful! I went in to Splash Car Wash for a simple car wash. The manager Jessica, told me about a rock chip in my windshield. She explained that if I hit a bump bump soon my whole windshield would crack. She said she could make a quick call to my insurance company and have it filed in 10 minutes. Hamden Splash Team is the best around!! I showed up clueless hoping to leave with a clean car and Dave helped me get an interior and exterior clean and gave me a discount! I'm a dog walker so my car had hair EVERYWHERE!! I'm talkin you could get into my car with clean pants and leave looking like you just wrestled with a big fluffy golden retriever. They were quick and paid attention to detail...I'm pretty sure they even polished the coins in my little coin holder. The receptionist inside was super nice and made sure everyone was taken care of. I get my Mazda serviced here every time I'm due for an oil change. The service is fast and the employees here all seem very honest. They don't overdue it with the upselling like a lot of quick change places, but they do give you their opinion on what else your car may need. I do the air filter on my own, but I leave everything else up to them. A lot of the packages come with a free car wash which is right on site and is a nice bonus. This is the second car I've had serviced here, and my last one went nearly 160k miles before I sold it. I have no hesitations to give them 5 stars. I might recommend calling in advance just to see what the wait time is, but I would say it's about 30 minutes on average. read more

WORST CAR WASH EVER? THEY SUCK. Not very busy, but it took an hour for my car to come thru, car barely vacuumed, exterior wasn't bad, but not great. Windows which I usually ask them not to do because they use the same dirty rags they just used to wipe your car off with to do the windows. Windows usually have a greasy film which u can't get clean. They sprayed the inside of windows and the area they couldn't reach without a getting in the car They just left so I had this whole big area on bottom of windshield with greasy looking spray marks. Complained to the manager, who I think I put out because she had to leave her air conditioned office and it was hot out, couldn't have cared less, rude and basically said oh well. very DISAPPOINTED!!! I went there on yesterday 07/26/21 to get a oil change, it started all good, my car was running good when I got there, however, after the oil change was completed, the young thin man with the red shirt came out and stated that everything was completed, and as I was walking to my car, he stated let me show you what I did, and as he proceeded to my car, he was showing me how HE programmed my car to remind/notify me of my next oil change...which i thought was weird, I came for a oil change, not for you to mechanically program my car, However, after I pulled off got down the road by Home depot, my car SHUTS OFF right in the middle of traffic, I just thank God i was able to pull over unharmed..My car shut off with a message that my car wasn't recognizing my KEY. As, we went back down to SPlash to ask what did he do, FIRST, one manager that was in all black kept saying that they were closed!!! I kept saying to him where is the guy that changed my oil, he first said NO ONE HERE, and as I stated that I was stuck on the side of the road, the young man came out & kept saying that it wasn't due to the oil change, and my brother and I said NO it wasn't due to the oil change, however it was DUE to whatever you done when you programmed the car to remind me of my oil changed which you didn't have permission nor the qualification to do!!! After, he saw that we were highly upset, he then spoke with the guy in the black and stated where is the car, he followed us up the street, showing us what he had done which showed that he did mess with the programming of the car. NOW, my car is NOT starting due to the car not recognizing the key, or the key not recognizing the car...I WISHED I NEVER WENT THERE!! I had to tow my car home and tow it to the dealer. The young man got into a heated conversation with my boyfriend because we were upset, because all he had to do was do the oil change, and put the sticker on the window and not program anything...I called the Hamden Police station to make a complaint, because due to him messing with my car which he wasn't authorized they need to rectify the problem and this shouldn't be done to any other customer that comes there for an oil change. Had a free car wash coupon for a long time. Was told it would never expire. This is true. Finally , made it to Splash and for a Great price got the free wash and an interior/ exterior detailing. My car looks like it's brand new! Only took about 45 minutes. Very nice people there and some of the funniest greeting cards for sale. Highly recommended. Support your local merchant. When I first got my oil changed at splash I got this guy named Alex he was great, filled my fluids answered all my questions got me in and out quickly today I went again asked for him and luckily he was there because now I don't want anyone else touching my car when you get someone like Alex who is great to the customer you don't wanna go to anyone else. Both times I've gone were a great Experience and I won't be going to anyone or anywhere else from here on out. My first yelp review, i was so frustrated after my experience today that i felt the only way to properly correct my poor experience was to write a yelp review. I thought i would support a local business and go in for an oil change at splash. I was greeted by friendly staff, but i was told my car required higher than the 19.99 all weather oil. My eye jumped to the synthetic blend price of 44.99. The mechanic then came in to tell my that i require a full synthetic. I figured he knew more about cars than i did, this is his job. I didn't think much of it, not realizing the price of full synthetic oil was 80 bucks. my car is not that nice and i have never paid 80 dollars for an oil change. i was frustrated with the price, so i went to my owners manual which clearly stated that i only needed synthetic blend. We all have our jobs and expertise, my hope is always to trust in the expertise in others to recommend, not upsell. I expected this from other places, not a locally owned business. When i asked to have the price reduced, and to replace with the oil that my car actually needed i was told tough luck. when i asked to speak with them manager the staff member behind the desk, they said the were the manager and that "i don't make the prices.. My only way to find some respite was to strongly recommend others to not go to this establishment. my recommendations to splash - explain the prices that will be paid prior to starting work, to a non car person -synthetic blend and full synthetic seem the same and my car only needed the blend. : / - I understand this is a business that makes money in upselling air filters and engine flushes, but it is not a great feeling as a customer to be told i need one thing, which wasn't true as clearly stated in my owners manual my recommendation to people seeking an oil change - check your owners manual quick and make sure you don't get upsold, your car manual will recommend the type of oil required and could have saved me a lot of frustration and 35 bucks - find a coupon for a discount oil change place online and go there read more

If I could rate 1/2 star instead, I would. I will be the first to admit that I've been the fool to continue frequenting this place because it's literally a stone's throw from my house -- which is convenient if you intend to drop off your car for an annual detailing and expect to pick it up 3-4 hours later (as they promise every time). I have never waited less than 7 hours -- despite dropping my car off within minutes of opening time for my scheduled appt. The kicker is that EVERY time they spin some tale about a.) why it took so long (today it was "mice") or b.) how I have some highly problematic malfunction that could be fixed with a service or part they would recommend I buy from them. Thanks. I have a mechanic and really just want my car washed within the quoted time so I'm not held hostage (along with my two young kids) on a Saturday at home. I could even give them a pass now and again if the *actual cleaning were anything more than the bare minimum. I came here to change oil and was very disappointed with their sloppy job. They supposedly did a multi-point inspection of my car and gave me a printed report with a list of items they had inspected. One of the items listed was tire pressure and it was checked "OK." However, when I got home and checked the pressure using the gauge, it turned out that the pressure was still low, so I had to drive to a gas station to find an air pump. SPLASH is the worst car wash ever. After spending 21.99, I see my car still with a lot of dirts and even a lot of scratches that I didn't have before the wash.
