We have enjoyed going to Splashway since my adult kids were just kids. Now we enjoy it with the grandkids. You can count on the cleanest waterpark anywhere. We typically stay a few nights in the larger cabin every summer. It's very affordable and like the waterpark, very clean. We love that we can bring in a cooler with food/beverage or get lunch there. The staff is always friendly and pleasant. They take a few moments every day and honor our military. We really appreciate their patriotism and values. We look forward to next year. read more

We spent a few days here in our RV and enjoyed EVERY MINUTE of it! The customer service is amazing, and you really can't beat he price! It is definitely family oriented, and we will always prefer to drive 1 1/2 hours to this place than 7 miles to Typhoon Texas in Katy. Splashway allows you to camp in a tent, bring your RV, or rent a cabin. The campgrounds are super clean with a huge dog park which my 2 large dogs enjoyed a lot! There are plenty of other things to do there as well such as hiking trails, basketball, volleyball, fishing, canoeing etc. You can bring your own food inside the park, and you can stay there all day! There's a little camp store that has a few things incase you forgot them from home. If you camp there there's a donut shop right across the street! The park opens at 10am and closes at 6. read more

Very disappointed with our stay. We have come here twice before and it was okay. Our first night we are at the Hideaway and it was terrible. Kids fries were cold, hamburger steak was all tough. Not worth $70. We see all the parents gathered listening to live music and kids are off doing whatever. Parents drinking having a great time. To us this is not a family friendly park now. It's a great place for parents to drink and not have to worry about their kids off doing whatever. The promotion of beer and wine is high here. We are not drinkers and this is NOT how we spend family time. We thought this park was better than that. We feel we have wasted 4 nights.There are kids driving golf carts at high rates of speed and no one cares. This place is a waste of time and money unless you like to drink and let your children run free so you don't have to watch them. The spring break activities were crap. The crafts were veered for preschool kids. . If you would have put the activity schedule out sooner we would have never come. We will be happy to accept a refund and leave now. Kids are bored, they have done the bounce pillow and now done. We have talked with the office people and they don't care either. they act like we have your money we don't care about you. We are asking for a refund as to this spring break vacation was terrible. read more

Update for 2013: They now have private cabana rentals, like many high-end resorts have. I gave it a few visits this summer, to get a good feel for them and the service. Bottom line: worth it! You have a wait staff to bring you anything, including your full lunch order, electric for anything you want (e.g. A fan), and your own roped off beach area with each one. Also new is a huge "racers" slide, where up to four people can go down hill at once in a slide race. Very fun! Schlitterbahn will NEVER catch up to this place! read more

This is not my first visit. We usually come here about once a year. Admission was slow. We got there right after the park opened and only two lines were open. I am not sure what made the lines go so slowly. I prefer to buy tickets online, but on Tuesday, there is a $10 coupon per person - but you have to buy the tickets at the park (not online). We had to stand in line for about 20 minutes, but it saved us $40.00. The waterpark is pretty great. We love the Lazy River and the new Wave Pool. My husband and I also checked out the swimming pool that overlooks the Pirate Ship play area for kids - it was nice and mostly relaxing. Staff is friendly and the crowd wasn't too bad on the Tuesday that we went. This was our second year to rent a cabana for the day. We had a covered table with 6 chairs, 4 lounge chairs, a large locker at the cabana and wait service. The cabana also had electricity (will have to bring fan next year). The locker is right there in the cabana which was nice. Last year, I had to walk over to where the regular lockers are and that was a pain. This is much better. The cabana has screens that zip together, so you can be completely enclosed. This helps keep bugs out while food is being eaten. The wait service was spotty. I like that there is a button that I can push to buzz our waitress - nice touch. The food is always hit or miss here. You can bring in your own food and drink (no glass or alcohol) and we do bring a cooler with drinks and usually fruit and veggies. This day (Tuesday, August 9th) we cheese nachos and chip-wreck nachos at 1045, only to hear from the waitress that they don't start heating the cheese for the nachos until 1100 AND they were out of beef today. Ok, so never mind on the nachos and bring us two hamburgers (which must not be made out of beef, since they were out of beef). Hamburgers arrived. Bun was cold and stale and meat was lukewarm at best. My husband felt bad within minutes of eating the burger. When we got back to the table around 1230, there were nachos sitting on the table. Ice cold. Great. We told her to never mind on the nachos, but she brought them anyway when we weren't even there and just left them on the table. In the trash they went. So, no beef this day. And no Dippin Dots either. Not good. All in all - a good waterpark. Off the beaten path and not too busy on the weekdays (which I like). Food is spotty - so be safe and bring your own. We had an amazing time today with the family. We got a cabana and it was well worth it for the shade and relaxation and wait service. This park was not crowded on a Wednesday. It is very affordable and they allow you to bring your own food, or rent a grill to cook your own. The food was good and not overly overpriced. We spent $56 feeding 6 people lunch, fries, drinks and treats! Sign up for their free online club. 20% off admission and a % off cabana rentals, food and souvenirs. This park is ideal for families with young children. It isn't overly crowded and there are multiple places for children to run and play and have fun. Adults aren't left out either. Parking is FREE. I come here with my family sometimes. I would enjoy it a lot better if it were cleaner. There is trash near the buildings, but I guess it's almost impossible to keep your Waterpark 100 % trash free. They recently added some gardens, which look really nice. But why two stars? Because of the staff and food. They weren't rude, but gosh they create long lines because they text or watch people go off the water slide rather than keeping their minds on their job. I waited in line for 25 minutes for a small bowl of dip 'n dots!!! And by the way, there were three people in front of me who just wanted a refill on slushees or something. They are self serve. Seriously Splashway? Thank goodness that these people aren't the life guards. I wasn't expecting gourmet food or anything, but it's like cafeteria food. I had a burger for lunch from here. Ewwww! Very disappointed this year. Last season, park and restrooms were clean and sanitized often. Staff seen cleaning tables and surfaces often etc. This year all signs of controlling germs totally gone. Restaurant trash cans overflowing wth garbage inside restaurant. Urinals overflowing in bath rooms. There is No sign of anyone cleaning or disinfecting tables and area in water park or restaurant this year. Went to 3 tables in restaurant before finding one that had even been wiped or appeared rather clean. Don't think their ad can claim "clean freaks" now. Gate 5 closed, making it far less convenient for campers and parking lot folks with season passes. Staff very poorly trained and uninformed this year sending us to several locations to complete simple tasks and purchases. Also no sign of security in campground . Very Affordable (I took my GF,two nieces and two nephews!) They had a blast and are begging me to take them again next summer. Plenty of pools and slides for all ages. Awesome staff and lots of Life guards everywhere The lazy river was everyones favorite - next time we plan on getting there earlier in an attempt to get a better spot in the line formation before opening. You can take your own coolers and foods. They randomly check people for alcohol (prohibited) and no glass containers of course. No trouble makers that I could see , very family oriented and pleasant music playing the whole time. 4stars because the lines at the big super slides could consume alot of your time there. The water park is only opened for about 6hours. (30minutes in line at each slide about 7 to 9 slides the kids can resist in trying out) read more

Just got back from a 3 day weekend at Splashway staying in our travel trailer. This is our third year in a row and we love it. 5 families all in trailers and 2 in cabins. All of the RV sites that we've stayed in are good, shady spots which is so nice in Texas summers. The cabins are great, too! We went to the water park two days and had a blast. The water and park was clean and I had no complaints about the park sanitation. I constantly saw people cleaning tables and picking up when necessary. It's neat that they add new rides or attractions each year. They really revamped the little kids area and added a lot of fun things for the toddlers to do. We had kids ages 6-18 and everyone had fun riding the slides and tubes, even the adults had a blast! Make sure that everyone has some kind of water shoes or flip flops, the cement gets very hot at this time of year(July). I also wish there was a way to make the lazy river move a little faster and cooler water, it runs slow and the water is very warm, almost to where it's not refreshing. Ya, I know, this is Texas. There are a few places to choose from for food and the prices were very reasonable. They also have live music on the weekend and lots of things to do in the evening. Basketball hoops, Here Dummy, tetherball, a play ground, fishing, canoeing, miniature golf, laser tag and more. Overall, this place will be fun for the whole family for sure. Great family oriented place to stay. We have been to Splashway numerous times normally driving up and back on the same day. We camped in a cabin July 6-8. The cabins are nice and there is plenty to do from riding bikes, fishing, playgrounds, kayaks, basketball, and volleyball. The biggest negative with this trip were the numerous utility vehicles (Mules, Rangers, etc), driving everywhere. My kids wanted to play at night in the green space between the cabins; however, people would come flying through on their utility vehicles making this worrisome and unsafe. I had a party for my son on Friday. When we arrived we went to the table that was reserved for us. When it can to having a host I have no clue who she was. We asked for the pizza and drinks to arrive at 1:00 because we knew that we lost the tables at 2. The pizzas arrived at 1:30 and the drinks didn't arrive until 1:50. Which didn't make since since we lost the table at 2:00. I had to go ask for plates so the kids could eat. I than had to ask someone to say Corbin's name over the announcements since it was part of the package. I don't think I will ever book a party at splashway again. read more

Our family visits here & camps every year, multiple times a year for the last 5 years in a row! Great family, Christian based atmosphere.

The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the food section of the park. The water slides, lazy river, and wave pool make for an insanely fun day to spend with your entire family. The food side however could do with some improvement. From a $10 souvenir cup, with no lid, to waiting 45 minutes for an order only to go check on the order and find out your order had been forgotten. The actual water park is amazing and a great family location, but I suggest just bringing your own food. read more

Where do I even begin... everyone here has been so kind and generous. A friend came here after evacuating from the flood and told me she had an extra cabin rented. We came that night and glad we did. It has been a long time since I've been here and it has grown so much. All of the staff has been more that kind. They are doing so far above and beyond what they need to make out stay pleasant. The park had been collecting donations for those that need basics due to leaving in a rush. Today they are preparing hamburgers. This is all overwhelming I can not say enough. read more

Splashway is the nicest water park I've ever experienced! My family and I were SUPER impressed - friendly & helpful staff, very clean, thorough safety procedures, small enough to easily track down each other, Christian / clean music being played on their speakers, and lots of fun! The landscaping is very well kept, the crowds were a good group of people, and the food was reasonably priced. ($8.99 gets your a burger, fries, & a drink) We spent the night at the adjacent Splashway campground- rented a cottage. It too was super clean, much roomier than I expected, and the AC kept it nice & cool. The campground has putt putt golf, kayaking, fishing, and other fun activities. This place is fantastic. Clean & lots of shaded areas. Food is O.K., what you'd expect from a park. Workers mostly outgoing & helpful. Lifeguards very safety conscious. We had a standard cabana & tickets for 3 people for 2 days. Check out pkg. deals before u purchase tickets & cabana separately! Only 3 criticisms. Bottled water machines broken and there is no map, info. handout, etc. to tell u what is in the park to do, eat, etc. Website says all cabanas come w/table service but we never had anyone come by either day. We stayed in the campground in our 5th wheel. Great place, too, but check in didn't give out any info. on campground or water park! Never been to an RV resort that gave out nothing but a map of the campground! Guess u have to come a few times & find out on your own. Will return!! read more

I have been going to this waterpark every summer for at least 10 years. I have always had a great time, but this last visit was NOT good. First, I booked a cabana to be on the River. I booked and paid a month in advance. When I booked there were 7 or 8 "River Cabanas" left, but Splashway will no longer let you choose your spot. When I arrived, I was taken to Cabana #12 which wasn't along the lazy river. They may call it a "RIVER" cabana, but I couldn't even see the people floating down the River. I told them I was unhappy, but they couldn't move me because all the River Cabanas were booked. My advice AVOID BOOKING A CABANA....unless you just don't care about your location. The second issue was the floating devices. There have always been enough inter-tubes, but this time there weren't. We all had to stand at the lazy river entrance and wait for someone to drop a tube. It was ridiculous. It took longer to get a tube than it did to float around the River. Has Splashway really gotten so big they have to make these poor decisions for their guests? My advice, BRING YOUR OWN FLOATING DEVICE....unless you just don't care about the Lazy River. To make matters worse, every time I walked by certain cabanas, people were hoarding the tubes. I guess they had to or wouldn't have one, but why didn't someone stop that behavior? Next issue....drinking in the POOL. Really? This is a family place. I take little kids. I know that Splashway says NO DRINKING ALCOHOL in the pool, but I spent most of my day at the pool (Afterall, there were no tubes for the river). There were people in the water with drinks in hand. Not just once, but all day. So, I think the rules only apply to some of us??? Bottom line.....Splashway is changing. Bigger may not always be better.....The only positive thing I can say: They still play the National Anthem while you are there. I love that! read more

Perfect Texas getaway with the family! Cabins are clean and well equipped, waterpark was way better than we expected, and we made some great memories! I advise that any family of any size, going to the waterpark, get a cabana rental. I'm not sure how you could do the waterpark without one... absolutely necessary for shade and reserved seating. read more

I took my 6 year old son last week to Splashway. It was a pretty good hike from Sugarland, but well worth the trip. The pros: 1. Reasonable prices - less than $25/ticket, food was about $6 a burger, drinks $3, etc. A fair bit less than the bigger water parks. 2. Everyone working there was super nice, frequently asking my son or me if we were having a good visit and stopping to chat. Loved that 3. Lots of great seating options, mostly in shade, with lots of picnic tables to have your lunch/snack. 4. Great family atmosphere 5. Lines weren't too bad, with some of the rides having no lines (although it was a Monday in the summer. May be different on weekends?) 6. You can bring your own food and drinks (no booze or bottles). They even have grills you can rent to make your own burgers, which was pretty cool. 7. They have lockers for $3-10 for the day to lock away your wallet, etc while you swim. Probably didn't need it, but good peace of mind for $3. 8. It's a mid-size park, a bit smaller than some of the big names. A teen might be wanting more, but for anyone under 10 it was perfect. It also meant it wasn't overflowing with teens, so not as crowded. 9. They appeared to have two good size smaller kid areas, but we were there for the bigger kid rides so didn't try them out. The cons: 1. As I said it isn't as big as some of the big parks. The wave pool was tiny and the lazy river not as big as most (but I enjoyed it). There were some really good slides for the braver folk, but it didn't have the variety of thrill rides that some might have. 2. As another reviewer mentioned, they had the music playing pretty loud. Not a big deal when you are sliding and having fun, but if you are trying to relax it is pretty loud. Also, there was a fair bit of religious music dashed in with the mostly country songs. It wasn't overly obtrusive, but worth pointing out if that bothers you. 3. It's pretty far out if you are coming from Houston. Enough so that I won't be able to go there frequently, but I will try to take my son again. That said, it wasn't much further than Spring or Galveston for folks coming from the west to south parts of Houston. Overall, great park. Am I the only one who had no idea this place existed even though I can forever remember seeing dozens of their billboards on every highway I travel on?? I don't know why, but I always envisioned Slashway as more of an RV park that happened to have a pool and a slide next to it. I never ever thought of Spashway as a legit waterpark and I have no idea why... Anyway, the last road trip I went on of course I saw a billboard and actually decided to look up what exactly this place was and if other folks thought it sucked or not. Ok....not a single one, two or three star review piqued my curiosity. On a complete whim, we went there yesterday (Saturday August 29) and I was very pleasantly surprised. We got there at 1:00pm (it opened at 10:00) and parked right next to the entrance. No line to get in and many many empty shaded picnic tables to put our stuff on. To me, Splashway seemed like an entry level waterpark which was perfect for my situation. Schlitterbahn is massively large and overwhelming crowded (which is fine for me, not so much for my kids). Also, paying $200 for entry alone to a theme park which my toddlers may or may not enjoy just seemed like too much of gamble. Entry for the 4 of us to Splashway was like $70 and park was the perfect size for wandering with toddlers (i.e. small). I also like that it is in the middle of nowhere...its just the right distance to keep the hoards of people from Houston away (no offense, I'm from Houston too). It was clean, there were no lines and all of the employees were really friendly. We pretty much just chilled at the "The Rides of the Caribbean" most of the day, occasionally going to the other small kiddie area & the big pool. We went around the lazy river a few times & the did the wave pool but dang! Those waves were gigantic! I even got knocked over! Splashway was a lot of fun and such a good way to spend a Saturday. This gem of a family friendly summer oasis is located smack dab in the middle of where the heck are we. We visit family in this area every summer and always make time for Slashway. The thoughtful staff, clean facilities and relaxing atmosphere make this the perfect summer getaway with small children. We visit pricier parks in Dallas each summer and I have to say that Splashway could teach them a thing or two! My kids love it when the staff drenches everyone in the wavepool with freezing water - very interactive and super fun! We LOVE Splashway! read more

A campers review. We were looking for a short family vacation. We have a camper and they have very reasonably priced spots with full hook-ups. So we thought we would give it a shot. Every encounter with the staff has been great, always friendly and helpful. I needed some ice, I asked a lady driving a cart labeled guest service where I could get some. She said the office was closed, but she could just add it to my tab tomorrow and then she delivered it right to our campsite. Room service at a camping ground! Awesome! They run this venue with excellence. From the maintenance and grooming of the facility to the obviously well trained staff, it was very refreshing. Even though it's a 2 hour drive from my home, we purchased a season pass at the end of day 1. The park is the perfect size for my kids ages 4, 8 and 11. Great camping facility too, you can walk back and forth to the water park. One word to the wise, if you like camping with trees around, make sure you reserve a spot in one of the first 2 sections, this will also.place you very close to the water park entrance. I will be reserving A5 next time I come. Their map does a good job of representing where the trees actually are. I just didn't look at it the first time. It also has a good legend to identify what utilities are avaliable at each site. read more

Well howdy partners! Figure I would start off like that cause this place give new meaning to country BFE! Who's bright idea was it to build a waterpark say ummm in the middle of nowhere? Well I have to say it is a nice little get away from the city life. Nice Lil drive, glad it's only an hour away from my house, just enough time to go and come back the same day without being too tired. Me and the ladies ventured here for an afternoon and it seemed small at first, but it actually is a pretty good size park. Plenty of big, medium, and small slides for everyone's fancy! I am not a slide girl (really wasn't trying to mess up the hair), the lazy river was more my style. Wading all day, catching some rays, my idea of a nice afternoon. The snack bar was ok, I did enjoy my turkey leg, hard to find those jokers around these parts. One of my girlfriends has an RV so she stayed at the RV park, it was nice, lots of big trees with great shade. I was pretty happy with the accommodations of this place, nice Christian values, a great time was had by all. It looses a star for the drive, sorry. read more

Great water park! My family enjoyed ourselves. Our kids ranged from 1-7 and if all fit them perfectly. Be careful with the wave pool, the very rough floor scratched up both my kids' knees. The bathrooms have weird stalls where they are short so people can see over them when you're pulling down your suit to pee. I'm an obsessed Diet Coke drinker so I was sad to see they are exclusive Pepsi retailers. Just a heads up, because they give you the option to bring in your own food/drinks which is really awesome. They received a 4 star though for their overall cleanliness and obvious concern for their guests' safety. Must see! read more

After going to Sea World Aquatic and standing in long lines, I appreciated this smaller but just as great park. I had a blast here.I went on a Thursday, which was great because it wasn't crowded.The staff is nice, and the place is clean. The food is good and priced great for an amusement park. I stayed in the wave pool, it is big and you can actually feel the pressure of the waves. They have about 3 water slides, which are pretty neat and fun to ride.They also have a great kiddie area, and separate family pools to hang out. The temperature of the water is just right, I was surprised it wasn't cold when I stepped in. You can dance at this park too, the Sun Man comes out and does line dances with the crowd. You can bring your own food to chill on the campgrounds which are free to use. It's a hidden jewel, really a fun and jazzy park! A fun place for the whole family. We visited Splashway Water Park on a Monday before most schools had let out. So there were very few people at the park, which made for a great time. The park looks new, is very clean and has lots of employees who seem to be always cleaning. We really enjoyed our day here and will be back at least once more before the summer is over. It's in the middle of nowhere, but once you get there they have everything you need. The food and snacks are reasonably priced, not cheap but better than most amusement parks, They allow you to bring food and drinks and even have BBQ pits you can use for free and gas grills you can rent. We just returned from a weekend at Splashway. This was our first trip there and we spent 2 nights at their rv park. We arrived at 3 on Friday and bought the discounted tickets for 3-6 pm. The park wasn't very crowded at all. The wait was 5 min. or less on all the slides. We also walked to the park at 10 on Saturday and stayed until 12:30. We went back to our camper, had lunch, and took a nap. Then we went back to the park from 3-6. It was more crowded on Saturday, but not too bad. The park was very clean and well maintained. As the previous reviewer mentioned, it definitely had a family atmosphere. There were lots of life guards and other staff. The kids had a wonderful time and are already asking when we can go back. Since we stayed at the campground, I will comment on it too. The sites were clean with a few trees. The only negative thing I can say about it is there is nothing to do after the park closes at 6. There is 1 swing set, but that's it. read more

This is a magical place. It is set out in the bucolic countryside and caters to families, with something for everyone. All ages, from 3 to 93 will be able to have a great time here. It is difficult to explain in words how incredible and state-of-the-art this resort-like waterpark is to someone reading reviews. You will need to just get in your car and come experience this first-hand to understand the rave reviews. The staff is bar-none and the uplifting music, great food, terrific options for over-night stays and the safety-first atmosphere is what sets a mother's heart at ease. I am usually reticent to let my young children have much freedom in the water, but this is a place you can relax while your kids have fun! If you don't have kids, then come here and be a kid again. You are allowed to bring your own foodl but prices also looked reasonable at the concession areas.. Clean, well managed. Plenty of staff to monitor safety. Free parking. All rides included (more for the ziplines) You exit the lazy river for the various areas and slides..then get right back into the lazy river to go to another area. Plenty of covered tables to leave your picnic stuff. Plenty of lounge chairs. Locker fee = reasonable. We will be back. Five stars because of the price for what you get. The most you will pay is $25 per adult, but they have a number of ways to save money on entrance (Tuesday's two for one, etc.). They also have FREE parking! Great family outing, you can bring your own food (and their food prices are the same you would pay at any fast food place). It is worth the drive! The lines move fast and the tenants are extremely friendly. Great Place! read more
