We've eaten at Splendora Cafe many times and the food has always been excellent! This time, we needed to order our food delivered and it did not measure up at all! The ribs, chicken, mashed potatoes, squash and green beans ALL arrived COLD and therefore not palatable. Our home is only maybe 10 minutes from the store so one would think the food could have arrived hot. Would not order from them again. read more

The last time I was there, I ordered the fried catfish. It was pretty gross. It was like soft. It didn't look fully cooked. I sent it back and the same thing with the replacement. It wasn't good. I won't order the fish again and I won't order their chicken fingers either. They were so tough, I couldn't eat them. But the brisket is great. read more

I've been to Splendora on a couple of occasions to dine in and was pleased with the food and service (the bbq sauce is severely lacking). My daughter and I even ordered the stuffed potatoes once. As recently as last night, we ordered again as I had a taste for some ribs. When I checked the orders, everything looked to be in place until I got to mine - I ordered the meat sampler with 3 meats - but it looked like I only got 1 and a 1/2?!?! My son and I just had dinner this evening at the Splendora Cafe & BBQ. We had gone to the go-karts next door and ran just a little late in getting over to the Cafe. We were welcomed in, even though we tried to say we would come back. The staff were all smiles and our food came out perfect. Our waitress could not have been more polite and accommodating to us. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. I really enjoyed the burger. I'm told the beef ribs were really tasty and although the mac n cheese looked like it came out of a box it didn't taste like it did and was good also. First time eating here and the food was good. It was Saturday so the place was pretty busy but it wasnt too long to be seated and the service was fine. Ordered fried green tomatoes for the appetizer, and I ordered the chicken fried steak with sweet potato fries and fried Okra. It was a lot of food. I couldn't finish even half of it. My friend took me here for dinner and she guaranteed me that I would have the best BBQ. She ordered the baked potato with brisket meat. The meat was so tender and juicy. The portion is huge to me since I'm a light eater. I brought home half of it and it became my lunch for the next day. I just moved to Kingwood area couple months ago. We have been going to Splendora Cafe for several years. Before they moved from the old location the food was ok. When they moved to the new location we decided to try it again. At first the food quality seemed better until recently. The BBQ brisket was very dry with no seasoning. The fried okra (which used to be very good) tasted bland, old and chewy.. like it had been cooked in old oil. And like everywhere else all of their prices went up. So disappointing. I was on my way out of Houston around dinnertime and this restaurant popped up among my options. I honestly did not know what to expect, but it turns out that at the very least I found a great place for chicken fried steak (even if it's a bit more expensive than usual) and where I know I will be treated well even as a single diner (as I often am on these type of trips). First, you get a lot of food - go hungry! Neither of us could finish our cheeseburgers! But not from lack of being bad - they were really good. Get regular fries - not the house cut fires - no flavor Requested a sample of the brisket - lean. Not very good - Sorry. Some people might love it but neither of us did. We love the people the atmosphere and the fish and shrimp. The hamburgers actually has meat that has a great flavor. The BBQ is OK the stuffed potato is stuffed to the max and the brisket is pretty good. It gets busy sometimes so if the parking lot is full and you lack patience you may want to try the Tex Mex in the same little mall. It is our go to for a meal when we're beat up and need some refreshing. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. If you tip good, you'll certainly be remembered and appreciated. First visit & won't be the last. Service was incredible but the food is magnificent! I had the 3 meat bbq, comes with 2 sides, a salad from the salad bar so you get what you want plus toast or roll. The ribs & brisket were so tender as was the turkey. Potato salad & green beans were awesome. Sides were generous in size. And price was the best surprise. Love it read more
