You sit yourself here our waiter seemed distracted or unhappy not sure which. Hope he's alright. The lunch menu was reasonable priced and a ton of food. I wish the fried pickles and chicken fried steak could have been crunchier other than that the salad bar was delicious, the okra was tasty, and the ranch was delicious as well was the sweet ice tea. read more

First visit & won't be the last. Service was incredible but the food is magnificent! I had the 3 meat bbq, comes with 2 sides, a salad from the salad bar so you get what you want plus toast or roll. When you think of Texas bbq you get this ridiculous vision of incredible food. For the most part it isn't that. If you live in a decent size city try the mid-level bbq and it's the equivalent of most Texas bbq spots. Thats exactly what you get here, mid-level bbq. I got the bbq basket that come with a sandwich, your choice of meat, and fries or onion rings. My choice was the chopped brisket and onion rings. It was okay. The onion rings were pretty good but the brisket was pretty bland. I added some salt, pepper and bbq sauce and it was still pretty bland. The bbq sauce was pretty lacking in flavor too. It seems like a local only spot so if you're cruising through keep going. Save your money for something better. read more

I brought a group of 14 from our Watercrest Senior Living for an outing. I called ahead that morning and spoke with very friendly staff that assured me they would be ready for us. We arrived a little early but only had to wait about five minutes before being seating. I cant say enough good things about our waitress i wish i could remember her name. Just moved to area and stopped by for dinner. Our server Lisssa was amazing and very friendly. We ordered chicken fried steak with white gravy and fried okra and mashed potatoes. Stopped by on a Sunday around 2:15 to grab a meal. The cafe was pretty well packed with people for 2:15. We had about a 15 minute wait. We were seated, and our waiter came over quickly. He was efficient and friendly. Fast forward to the food, I only ordered a cheeseburger and onion rings, they were slightly above average tasting. Not great but not bad. I should try something different there to be fair. The host could certainly have been more friendly, but maybe we will give them another shot at some point... read more

I have heard so many good things about the Splendora Cafe from close friends. So, I took my wife and grandchild to try it out. We were there on December 22,2021 around 12:00 pm. The place was pretty busy. We were greeted and sat immediately. Our waitress was prompt in greeting us and taking our beverage order. The menu was clean and easy to read. We ordered an appetizer, fried pickles (yummy) and our meal. The salad bar was clean and well stocked. The meal was served at the appropriate time. The waitress was attentive and friendly. The meals we ordered were correct and hot. The portions were large! The cost was in the medium range. Overall I would recommend the Splendora Cafe as a place to dine! read more

So disappointed. The place is cute, the staff so friendly and accomadating. Unfortunately the food borders on inedible. Seriously delicious. Fantastic prices. Huge portions. Love the salad bar. Family/busy toddler friendly. We just moved to the area and this place is fantastic. It's our favorite local restaurant. Trust me. Try it out. The parking lot doesn't hold the capacity of the restaurant and their employees so don't drive away if it looks busy. It will probably be a short wait. This was our first experience with Splendora cafe and I have to say that based upon some of the other reviews I was VERY let down. In this restaurant you seat yourself. No one even says, "Hi, welcome to Spledora cafe, have a seat anywhere." No sign that says seat yourself, nothing. The staff just looks at you as if you've inconvenienced them. That kind of set the tone for the visit. So we sit ourselves in a booth. For 20 minutes I see servers walking by making eye contact with us knowing no one has greeted us, no one has given us a menu, an no one has gotten our drink order, and they walk on by..... Finally a server (not the one for our section) takes pity on us and gets us some drinks and a menu. Another table of 4 people sit next to us and the girl who was supposed to be our server takes their order first and COMPLETELY ignored us. The server who got us our drinks then tells our server she needs to take our order. We have now been here 30 minutes. We finally order. Chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra. My wife opts for green beans because the server says they are fresh green beans not canned. Surprise! They were canned! We finally received our food about 45 minutes into being there (we had raided the salad bar in the meantime....we were starving.) The portions are generous, but everything lacked seasoning. The mashed potatoes were loose and needed butter. The fried okra was fine. The chicken fried steak was ok. The breading was crispy mostly..but just lacked any sort of flavor. I had to salt everything. We never received the rolls for our main. We didnt notice until it was too late so we didnt say anything. But, we should have received them and didnt. Also, every server in the place looked pissed for some reason. No one smiled. Our server seemed to not know what was going on half the time. No one seemed to enjoy being there at all. We felt like being there was an inconvenience to the staff. read more

I love the ranch dressing they have here!! I could practically drink it... lol! Might sound gross to some of you, but I'm telling you, it's THAT good. Splendors Cafe has excellent service and good as well. I had a hard time finding the establishment because on maps, it will take you to their old location. Be sure to call them and make sure it's taking you to the right location. read more

I frequent this restaurant several times a year. Very good menu selections made from fresh. Cold and fresh salad bar. Their fried fish is excellent breaded in corn meal however they could enhance the flavor with some type of seasoning. They serve quality BBQ dishes also. Service is top notch. read more

Imo if you're buying a sandwich the prices are "ok". HOWEVER once you go to anything else it gets extremely high for what you get. It's common grade bbq for the most part. Even the same old generic sauces and beans that every bbq place has. It's just not worth the higher prices to me. Today I am visiting the Splendora Cafe as a to go customer. I ordered 2 Baked Potatoes with butter & cheese & 2 Baked Potatoes with butter, cheese & ham. I added two banana pudding desserts for the kids and a couple of peach cobblers for the adults. I did not order an appetizer. I did not order any drinks. The bill still came out to over $40! Really??? I just bought an entire bag of great quality baking potatoes for under $5 -- about 20 potatoes at the grocery store. This Cafe has lost touch with how much food really should cost.
