Although I had never been here before I booked my children's birthday party here which was super easy to do via email. Everything you need to know is laid out on their website - straight to the point which is what I like. The party room is huge and it seems you share the space with others that have parties booked as well. The space is clean and our waitress Jolene was seriously the best! She was so nice I wanted her to join the party. The pizza and other food was okay but kids didn't complain and they had a blast, I'll be back for more family fun for sure. read more

First time going and it was a very cool place, it's got a lot going on that's all kid friendly! The only thing was that the employees didn't seem very helpful or care. Just kinda lazy. I took my son to the arcade and I tried to use the machine to purchase a card to play and both machines were down when I went up to the front and asked how to get one they told me "the machine" I said "they were both down" they said "there should be someone over there that can help you" I walked back and stood there for 5 min nobody came...also to mention the entire time we were in the arcade nobody was over there. Hidden gem nestled off 35 in Wyoming, this place is huge! Dropped in on our way back from Duluth and was really pleasantly surprised. Great apps and all the sauces were obviously home made with care. Best seasoned sour cream I've ever had. Our server was great, and really knew a lot about the menu and remodel. Has a new bowling alley and arcade we didn't use, but looked good. Pros: food and service were superb. Cool ambiance. I'm surprised more of the locals haven't discovered it yet. Con: the only con really is the location. We had so much fun here! Everyone was helpful and friendly. We bowled, had lunch and played at the arcade, which was the highlight. I love this Recreation Center! I wish there was one closer to me down in the Twin Cities. Split rocks offers several fun activities for people of all ages. There are several outdoor beach volleyball courts for the summer and they look pretty well maintained. I don't play volleyball, but it's a nice unique offering. There is a large bowling alley as well as a fun little arcade center for the kids to have some extra fun in as well. It seems like a great place to have a kids party. They also serve a full menu of food items from the attached restaurant for all patrons. We came in for a night of bowling and ended up having a tasty meal of Broasted chicken. This was my first time having it, and wow.... Broasted chicken is a pressure fried chicken process that seals in the moisture of the chicken giving you a juicy and crispy fried chicken experience. I've found a place near me that serves it as well, but it's much better here at Splitrocks. I have friends who live in North Branch and I've made it a point to stop in just to pick up some Broasted Chicken on my way up from the cities. This is a great entertainment center! read more

It's an amazing place to host certain things. I love to go there. But when it comes to trying to bowl the balls feel like there geese inside of them they are hard to grip. Its difficult to wanna bowl there. I love the lighting but j feel like it could have more then what there giving. read more

The lanes were nice, the arcade was fun for the kids, but that's about it. The food wasn't good which is a bummer because I usually find the best bar food at bowling alleys. The service was really bad too. With games, bowling, and food we literally spent $500 in just over two hours and only took up 1 lane but we were irrelevant to our server. Formerly known as Stars and Strikes, this place was renovated back in 2015. I would definitely say that it is much nicer now. Splitrocks has 20 lanes of bowling, a bar/restaurant, an arcade, and laser tag. Both the bar/restaurant and the arcade were refurbished and there is also now an area for events. Outside is a volleyball court. The restrooms are exceptionally clean for what you would expect for a small town place like this and the staff is great. Food is decent but pricy, although there are a few items on the menu that are amazing. Busyness depends on the time and day. The place is pretty quiet on week days and busy on weekends. NOTE: They do offer free bowling for kids during the summer. read more

We were given extra "free" bowling time because we had to wait on the food order - kudos to bowling attendant for offering this. Food service is awful. We pressed the service/wait staff button on our lane and waited close to 20 minutes. Ordered 3 sodas and a water, which took 10+ minutes (water never came). Ordered 2 appetizers. We had 90 minutes paid for on our lane and with under 15 minutes left, still no food. Went to the kitchen window... Was told the waitress should've brought one app out as it was sitting there for over 20 minutes and the other app the kitchen had run out of. The one app we got was not fresh or warm. Due to the time, we opted not to order anything else. We may be back to bowl, but not for food. One more note, it was raining outside and the ceiling was leaking at the bowling desk into a bucket on the counter. read more

Very disappointed will not be coming back. Online it stated that weeknights after 9pm are 6.99 for unlimited laser tag. We arrive with a party of 20 some friends on a Friday night and they claim that it is not a weeknight and won't let us have the deal. The redecoration is great, but the 10 times I have been here since it has changed ownership have been the worst service I've ever received here. I have come in with my 1 year old and have had to pack up and leave because the food and drinks take too long. It's ALWAYS atleast 10 minutes for a drink and 30 for food. Tonight it was over 45 for food and we had to take it to go. We never even get an acknowledgment or apology for anything taking a long time. There are only TWO other tables. The servers stand around talking to people while we wait. Even though this is a neighborhood place that we've been coming to for years I think we are done. Went there last Saturday so my son could play the arcade games for part of his birthday. We decided to have dinner while we were there and that's the primary reason for the single star. We sat down, had our order taken, and waited over 45 minutes for the food to arrive. My boys both ordered the kids pizza, wife had the walleye sandwich special, and I had the chicken alfredo. While we waited we spilled a little water. While cleaning it up with the small amount of napkins we had our waitress walked by and didn't bother to offer a rag or more napkins for us to use. Food finally arrives and the pizzas were hot but my pasta and my wife's sandwich were barely room temp. If it weren't my son's birthday we would have walked out without finishing or paying. When it was Stars and Strikes they had good food and good service. We were one of three tables on a Saturday night, that should have been my first clue that the experience was going to be bad. After dinner we went to the arcade room where around 20% of the machines didn't work. The bowling lanes still looked nice but on a Saturday night only about 20% of the lanes were occupied so I have serious doubts about the future of this once successful entertainment center. read more

Not even worth the one star! I spent $140 for you to ruin my daughters birthday party. Let me give you a run down of my experience at Splitrocks. We got there and waited our turn to check in, while waiting in line people kept budging in front of us. Finally got checked in and met our waitress. I asked her if we could put our pizza order in, she told me "No, you bowel first. I'll come and get your order when you get close to the end of bowling." She offered us pop and water and told us mine and my husbands drinks had free refills and she would check on us in a little bit. We are told that our lane is all set up with ramps and bowling balls. We get down to our lanes and we have NOTHING. It seems that the people next to us took all of our stuff that was set up. My girls go to the next lane over and take the balls from there. Then a man comes over (I'm assuming a manager) and basically yells at me "You can't take those, that's set up for a birthday party!" I tell him "I am a birthday party, we were told the lane was set up and we have nothing!" He tells me "Oh, I guess they took your balls, I'll find some one to get you some more, put those back." We wait. 10 minutes later they bring us balls and we start bowling. My girls decide that they want laser tag, so I go to the front desk and say "I have a birthday package for eight and they want to add laser tag. How much is the package that I have and how much would it be to add laser tag?" "It's $3 a person." "Ok, I only have four girls, will it be $12?" "It's $3 a person, so yeah." "Ok, we would like to add laser tag on." the waitress comes over and says "Finish bowling, go eat, and then you can do laser tag." She walks away. We have been bowling for about 30 minutes and have not seen our waitress. My husband has to go to the front desk and ask for refills on pop. He is told that they will find a waitress. The cashier comes and asks "So who wanted the refill?" I finally get some more to drink. We have 10 min left in our bowling and the waitress still hasn't taken our pizza order. I go up to the front desk and ask if we can put our order in. I'm told that they will get our waitress. A different women comes over and asks what we want so we place our order with her. We finish bowling and go back to the table to open gifts. It took 25 minutes for us to get our food. The whole point behind placing our order was to keep the party moving and the kids wouldn't have to wait. The whole time we are waiting I am watching our waitress and another waitress bring food and setting up the party next to us. THEY WERE STILL BOWLING AND NOT IN THE ROOM!!!! We finally get our food, and I ask our waitress for a knife to cut the cake with, she says sure and leaves. 15 min passes by and I have to go up to the waitress station and ask for the knife again. She tells me "oh sure I'll bring it over." another 7 min (yes, at this point I am so angry that I am timing her.) She hands me the knife and asks me, "Is everything ok, you look annoyed?" I tell her " I am annoyed and frustrated. The waitress apologizes and says that's the best she can do, and walks away. We have our cake and try to find out what we do to play laser tag. We were told that we could go and wait and that it would be a few minutes. The waitress again tries to defend herself saying that "The other party was so big, and I'm only one person, she's been a waitress there for 6 years and no one has ever complained about her, and she didn't understand why I was mad." So I told her. I told her about watching them set up, and being ignored, and the rude staff, and the bowling balls. I told her everything up until that point." She tried to defend herself more than apologize. Then she tries to make it right. "Is there anything I can do? Can I get you a pop, something? How about free laser tag? I do agree to the free laser tag. A whole $12 taken off my bill. Whoppie!!! We play our laser tag, and my daughter plays her free arcade cards. The arcade is RIDICULOUS! So over priced. After my daughter was done she took her cards up the the desk. We didn't know how to use the cards so we asked the guy behind the counter. He tells me that he can scan them to get the totals, and he starts scanning, and hands me a card back. I ask him why and he says that we have 5 scans left. We're done playing, so I ask him how my daughter can get her prizes. He tells me, I have to re-scan everything now. (He is visibly annoyed) My daughter picks a crown and says that it doesn't fit, so he has to scan it back in (still looks annoyed with us) My daughter picks her stuff and he says "You guys are set" and walks away. Now I am just ready to leave, so we go to the front desk and I tell them "I'm here to pay for my birthday party package." "What's the name?" "Daughters name" "You actually pay your waitress." "Then where is she?" "I don't know!" So the waitress appears and again tries to defend her ignoring us. I pay and leave. Never to return again. read more

After spending money at the arcade we decided to stop by the restaurant area for supper. BIG MISTAKE!!! We placed our drink order with the waitress. Which consisted of 4 sodas and a mixed drink. We had looked over the menu and were ready to order our food when we finally got our drinks (17 minutes later) we had informed her of that, but she said she would have to come back once she got the other tables food order. We finally placed our order of 4 cheeseburger and a taco pizza. Waited over 45 minutes and she said "the kitchen is all backed up" and kept walking by. 20 minutes later she stopped and said "your food is up next" .....15 minutes later we finally received our food. The hamburger on the cheeseburgers were completely black and the bottom of the taco pizza was burnt. We had asked for refills on our sodas (since it had been over an hour from when we initially received them) so of course they were all gone and so was the ice. She huffed and puffed about it saying "we don't normally refill, we have to charge, but I will for you" (oh how sweet ) and when I asked for ranch she rolled her eyes at me. When she came to the table and basically threw down the ranch we had asked for a glass of water.... 10 minutes later after receiving our food she gave us our bill. Still hadn't received the class of water. From the time we sat down to the time we left it was 2 HOURS!! read more

General Manager here is one of the worst I have dealt with. At my last visit we asked our great waitress if we could speak to a manager about how rudely the gentleman behind the counter was. She then explained he was the GM, and she had heard it many times before. I also play on a volleyball league here and my first experience with him I was shocked at how rudely he spoke to me. Also after the fact when I proved to him that it was his mistake on the schedule, but he never apologized for threatening a forfeit and being extremely rude. I also know of many teams who have no longer returned were also treated poorly by him. Unfortunately the only way to make a complaint is to get ahold of an owner. If you are the owners of this establishment I would highly recommend rethinking your general manager. If it wasn't for me team mates who already travel to get there I wouldn't return. read more

The food here is pretty basic and would qualify as "bar food". Prices are average for what you get. Had a bad experience here with management where i was seated at the table with my family, had ordered and was drinking a beer when the manager stopped by and asked us to pick up and move to a kids party room. There are only 4 in my family and there was a kids b-day party in the party room. There was no "reserved" signs or any indication the table was taken. The manager said a large group was moving into the area and needed our table. We remained at the table as we were there first and had no intention of moving. The waitress then starting waiving at us from the kids section and clearly had our food. She then said her manager would not allow her to bring our food to the table we were occupying. Seriously?!
