I called to let them know I was running 10 minutes behind and to see if I need to reschedule my appointment. They said no come in you have a 15 min grace period. I got there at 11 am and had all my forms completed. The girl gave me a packet and told me to go sit in section D. From 11:05 to 11:50 am nobody acknowledged me and nobody told me they were running behind. I waited and waited. I did not end up going to my appointment because I did not have another hour to go and sit around. Terrible place - they were not like this but they were bought out and now run by a different group. Go somewhere else. I am hoping they do not bill my insurance for this since I did not leave anywhere past the waiting room. The girls who came out did not apologize, did not take accountability, and just stared at me when I asked why I was not notified of the delays. read more

Don't go here unless you want to wait 3 hours for an eye prescription. They over schedule appointments and don't even apologize for how long they made you wait. Then when it's time to pick out glasses, the lady at the desk is very rude and doesn't want to help you. She was very unprofessional and unorganized by misplacing your paperwork and letting others cut you in line even though I was there first waiting 30 minutes and the other person only waited 5 minutes. Paid $2025 for red light therapy for my dry macular degeneration, went thru the 9 prescribed treatments and then went to my scheduled follow-up appointment with the assigned retina specialist and they moved my appointment time without telling me. Didn't know until after I drove 40 minutes to my original appointment time only to find out that it had been moved out another month for my follow-up. They had zero earlier appointments, no apologies, no solutions to "fit me in". They couldn't care less about my follow-up ... hey ... they got their $2025 out of me so now their attitude is "screw you, screw your eyes and screw your appointment" take it or leave it read more

I was treated by Dr Haymore and his wonderful staff for cateracts. I found the staff polite, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Doc H was great, he explained the process from start to finish and did an incredible job. The entire staff at the surgical center was professional and compassionate. I called in behalf of my daughter who is of age. I understand and knew they would not be able to give me information due to HIPPA laws. I just wanted to ask if my daughter would be able to find a specific piece of information through her patient portal. I talked to Joy in Medical Records and she was quite rude interrupting me before I could even ask the question. Very short with me and not personable at all. She did not answer my question either. We had an Excellent experience today w/ Dr Colburn @ Spokane Vision Clinic. Both the nurse & the doctor took their time examining and testing both my kiddos. Additionally the doctor spent a great deal of time discussing & answering all our concerns & questions. He wasn't too pushy in either direction but rather provided us extensive knowledge about both forms of treatment and the success rate of each. We came to the appointment because we were recommended for Vision Therapy by one of our normal family vision doctors but Dr Colburn explained in detail why that may not be the best route to take, we personally picked this clinic despite us being referred to another clinic because of the detailed expertise on their website and we were hoping to seek care from the best of the best no matter the distance of travel (we come from Moses Lake). He also explained the possible need for surgery with my son but not my daughter. He described all of the details of what that would entail and the success rate and potential final outcome from surgery. We felt he genuinely respected our wishes as he could see we weren't a fan of having to have my son undergo surgery. He did a great job educating us with all the knowledge we needed to make our own decision as a parent (my mom was there with us in place of my husband) and recommended we do followup appts for my son in 6 months and 1 year for my daughter unless we see a negative progression in their symptoms or challenges within in their learning abilities that may be (or may not be) from their vision challenges (Strabismus exotropia aka wandering eye). He elaborated on the extensive cost of Vision Therapy and explained that medical coverage doesnt cover the expense because there is no proven medical studies that support the success of it but also told me if we wanted to still pursue vision therapy treatment to certainly do that if we felt it was worth the chance it could make a difference. With that said although he said surgery for my son may potentially help my sons issue there was no guarantee which is why he said we can monitor the condition. We genuinely appreciated his knowledge and willingness to educate us and didnt just soley push surgery beings that was the only treatment he could provide. Lastly his staff was all very patient, knowledgeable and respected our time. We had to schedule two separate appts one for each kiddo that were 1hr apart but they didnt proceed in that manner. Both kids were examined carefully back to back and reviewed with care. They truly took their time with us and treated each kid accordingly. we were a bit nervous coming to the appt because of a couple negative reviews I seen on Google but our experience was awesome...nothing remotely close to some of the negative Google reviews I read. Im so glad I followed my instincts to schedule with this clinic oppose to the original one we were referred to in TriCities. I felt Dr Colburn truly cared and went above and beyond to give me all the background knowledge I needed to feel comfortable navigating and making my own parental decision now and going forward. If you or your kids are having vision limitations such as my kiddos I highly recommend you schedule an appt here. While we didnt get the prognosis we were expecting I think it was better because he educated us in all the treatments we could ultimately choose to pursue how we felt best necessary. When we originally began reviewing this issue 1yr ago with one of our home vision doctors it was dismissed and mis-diagnosed. When we seen a different doctor within the clinic he recommended the vision therapy. The 1yr lapse of time really had me frantic about the situation and feeling like I was racing against time to not fail my kids need for care. But knowledge is power and this appointment really allowed my concerns to be recognized but not be full of worry. Thank you Dr Colburn & staff of Spokane Vision Clinic you really helped me relieve some stress from my worried Mama mind that I have the knowledge I need to proceed in the manners I feel necesssary. read more

I went for PRK- surgeon is knowledgeable- his scheduler was always annoyed and put out- she felt the need to educate me on what her job description is and what falls outside of it, such as after hour calls...but yet after hour calls are included in the post op service...seemed so unprofessional and simply rude. Also, Just a heads up to make sure you know you will wait for at least 90 minutes after your scheduled appointment time- it's a 2 hour appointment-every time. They are the worst with time management and do not consider anyone's time- they do not seem to care to try and change this. I have had 6 months of follow ups- all with the same time management outcome. My 6 month post opt results weren't what I expected. I'm still blurry in one eye. All in all I wouldn't recommend to a friend. read more

Very rude to my disabled sister, both on the phone and in person at this location and the north Spokane location. They were rude, holier then thou and snotty at every turn, even after being told my sister had had a stroke and her cognitive function and gets frustrated easily. This was not the first problem we had with Spokane Eye Clinic. My mother in law who lives with us and on Medicare was also a victim of poor customer service from the business office. Her appointment should have been covered, she was told it was. Then told it wasn't, sent a bill for service and she paid it instead of arguing. I decided this was just a fluke and set my appointment. Knowing they had messed up on Helen's insurance, I verified with the receptionist that my insurance was good, because if it wasn't I had secondary insurance that would cover it. She told me the BCBS worked fine. I was prepared to contact my wife should they not accept the first insurance for her to give me the info in the second, but that was not necessary because I was told the first was good. The BCBS insurance declined and they contacted us. So we gave them the information on the second insurance. They took down some info wrong and said they needed the info again, which my wife provided. We heard nothing further thinking it was resolved until we heard from collections, CBS Financial, Lisa is her name. We have been dealing with Lisa at CBS for the past year. She has been polite and professional. But she is the one hired to collect. She is not part of the original problem. Now after a year of dealing with collections, Spokane Eye Clinic and CBS Financial have decided that it's too late to run the secondary insurance so therefore we need to just pay the money owed.They say it is too late for them to run the claim through. Lisa, who had been very polite and professional, that had run its course and is now threatening me with a law suit. I think that is where this needs to go. I would like to go to court and have this heard by a judge. I have a very strong resolve about this as it happened to two of us in the same household. I would like to subpoena the accounts receivable manager as well as the front clerk that told me my insurance was good. It took two employees mistakes to get us to this. The receptionist, and the accounts receivable clerk. I don't like when a lazy accounts receivable person is not running the insurance but is instead turning to the customer to pay the bill. Save him or her a lot of time, and if it starts to drag, sell it to collections and be done with it. I want to be sure that person is not done with it. This will hit my credit, which is why I need there to be conversations with the staff. Whether we go to court or not, I plan to contact Spokane Eye Clinic and let them know the BS they have put us through. If it does hit my credit, I will spend a few hobby days with a sign sitting on the sidewalk out front of their business, enjoying my day. Fortunately I am retired, and they have given me an additional hobby. read more

If you are over 65 do not use this business. I have VSP insurance and because I am over 65 they require that they do a medical exam. Price anywhere from $75-$250. Cannot give an exact quote. "This is our office policy for anyone over 65." In other words you would be better off going somewhere else as they do not honor VSP even though they are a preferred provider. read more

I had severe double vision and uncorrected astigmatism from a traumatic brain injury in 2008, on top of my near-lifelong near-sightedness. The ophthalmologist at Seattle Children's Hospital and multiple optometrists after that all missed it. Spokane Eye Clinic Valley did an *amazing* job. Dr. Ellis caught the double-vision right off the bat, and was able to give me a prescription for prism glasses that fully correct that, my astigmatism, and my near-sightedness. Her professionalism, kindness, patience, and knowledge, as well as that of her staff, was quite refreshing. She made sure my prescription was exactly what I needed, and even made the necessary adjustments a month later (commonly necessary with new prism lenses) without charging for the visit. Now I have my 3D vision back, and my double vision is gone! Alongside that, the office staff and opticians are all friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They worked with my insurance, and handled everything wonderfully. I cannot recommend Spokane Eye Clinic Valley more highly. Quite simply put, if you have *any* eye troubles, you NEED to see Dr. Ellis. She and her staff are the best of the best in my experience. read more

I'm not really sure what's going on here. Everyone has been nice and that's fine but I have never had such an issue getting the right prescription for my contacts. I usually go to one appt and get my prescription and I'm good to go. I have been here I think 5 times now trying to get my contacts so I can see. Isn't...... isn't that the doctors job? To make sure I can see when I leave? I've had to spend my days off here waiting and it's getting real annoying. I won't be returning once I get my damn prescription correct. It had NEVER in 34 years been such a hardship to get the right prescription. read more

I take several clients to Spokane Eye Clinic in all locations in and around Spokane. The doctors are great but the scheduling is extremely poor. I repeatedly have had to wait nearly 2 hours to see the doctor. This would be fine if it were just once but this is EVERY time. Please stop scheduling so many people in one slot. I felt like more of a nuisance to Dr. McFadden than a client or patient. He walked into the room, said he heard I had some trouble with my eye, and took two minutes to look at it to determine it was allergies. He didn't ask any questions or clarify symptoms with me. He just used a machine to look at the inside of my eye, advised he didn't notice any irritation, and stated it had to be allergies. And if it wasn't, to come back if it occured more frequently or with my next eye exam next year. He then proceeded to prescribe me an $86 antibiotic eye drop used to treat eye infections despite verbally noting he didn't see any irritation (or infection for that matter). And when I asked what I should do for a flare up in the near future, he advised to just keep the eye drops around and use when the flare ups happen. Incredibly disappointed by the lack of professionalism and general care that was shown by Dr. McFadden with this visit; will not be returning to this clinic and would encourage others to pursue care elsewhere as well. read more

My family will not be returning due to the incompetence and condescending attitude of the billing department. Three members of the family work for the same company and have the same insurance plan, which covers vision. They did not bill the vision portion of our plan in two instances, even though we each had our appointments on the same day. When we called to inquire about being billed the full amount we were each given different reasons. When we checked through our insurance company we were given the solution, but billing refuses to correct the problem or to call the insurance company with their concerns. We have not had issues in the past with other vision clinics. Hopefully by leaving this review I can save others some unnecessary expense and hassle. read more

I was referred to Dr. Rory Allar in June of 2019 by my Eye Doctor in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho since they could no longer help me with my glaucoma and macular degeneration issues. First of all, I was impressed with the office. It's impeccably run and every appointment is on time. Dr. Allar did a number of tests and took over my case with deep care. I had cataract surgery and stents put in to alleviate the pressure and it's working! He has a sense of calm to him. He never makes a patient fearful of losing vision. It's always a good feeling of trust in this man. If this procedure doesn't work, I have always felt he'll help in another way. He'll find the magic solution. I love visiting him and hearing the (positive results) that are coming forth. Results like this didn't happen at all with my previous clinic. This is like night and day. I feel I am blessed and honored to have met and become a patient of Dr. Allar in life. read more

Last year my wife and I had a bad experience with the spokane eye clinic in the valley with there scheduling and said we would never go back but after a year we took a chance and tryed it again and withour surprise it went over well. There was a small problem but was taken care of. We had our appointments and lef ther feeling like they cared and wanted to to the best job they could we are very happy with the results. I am leaving a review in terms of the billing department. I has Lasik surgery over 8 months ago which I have no complaints about, however I had to pay for the procedure up front and submit it to my insurance for reimbursement. I had been authorized by my insurance that the procedure would be covered and my insurance did reimburse the eye clinic but I cannot get my refund from the eye clinic. I have made countless phone calls at this point and I am always told that someone will call me back by the end of the day and I have received no phone calls back. My next step will be to receive legal assistance to get my money back. It is unfortunate that I have to leave a bad review, because the procedure itself was great and the coordinator was fantastic. read more

Dr. Maier and staff were exemplary. The examination was thorough, comprehensive, and they took the time necessary to get a precise "fit." Something I am not accustomed to. Many times in the past I have received a rushed job of the examination, and as an a result the prescription wasn't quite as good as it should have been.
