Update: The owner Melanie commented on my yelp asking me to reach out but the email doesn't work. Nothing has been resolved. Melanie reassured me the email is working but I'm still getting the same message that says, "this email does not exist." She gave me a number to call on Monday when they're open. I shared a photo below of the weird message she left underneath this review. "If this is a legitimate complaint, you WILL reach out." Well I've tried to email the email Melanie provided to me multiple times and it still doesn't exist. So I will be calling this number to see if this situation gets resolved. I will update this post as the situation continues because this will happen to someone else and you will be talked to just like this. If the manager talks to customers like this online, I can understand why the staff is disrespectful as well. It makes me uncomfortable that the manager is questioned whether my complaint is legitimate or not when I have shared the complete sequence of events I experienced that month. Before finding Dr. Greene and his amazing team, I went to MANY appointments with different optometrists trying to get a prescription that could alleviate strain from my binocular vision dysfunction. I seemed to figure out what was wrong with my eyes before my previous optometrists, and they insisted that my prescription could even be too strong. They made me feel like a burden, and often would cut my appointment short to set up another recheck appointment. I eventually got fed up and went to Dr. Greene. His office is not only warm and inviting, but his staff are as well. Their equipment is SO MUCH NICER! It measures everything more quickly and accurately, and to be honest, a lot less stressful. I also like that the equipment can take photos which can be saved to your chart as a visual timeline of your eye health instead of relying on written notes alone. because the equipment measures your eyes, you don't ever have to worry about someone stabbing you in the eye or blowing air until your eyes are crusty. you also don't need those eye drops that burn your eyes. while having the best experience I've ever had at an eye exam office, I was also validated by the staff that listened to my stories of previous experiences and was met with reactions that co firmed I wasn't just crazy or wrong about my need for a prism prescription. Dr. Greene explained everything clearly to me and I never felt rushed through my exam at any time. And he's nice! I can just tell he's a great guy, a family man that loves what he does for them and his community. I opted for a pair of neurolens glasses, which came with its own VR headset made to measure your eyes movements and focus. But even after the machine suggested a prescription, Dr. Greene double checked manually to confirm it. My last Dr. used old school prism blocks in a wood storage box, which didn't help at all. Dr. Greene actually had the lenses to put into his equipment to make it as smooth of an experience as someone with mild nearsightedness. When I went to pick out some frames, I tried a new shape and material over what I would usually wear to try something new. After a couple weeks, I contacted the office asking if I could replace the frames with a style I usually wear, as the ones I initially chose kept sliding down my nose from being too heavy on my face, as well as hurting my ears. They replaced them for free, and took only two weeks. They even let me keep the first pair until the second pair came in. Next time I definitely want to see about contact fitting since they offer dry eye treatments. maybe now I can wear contacts when I want to! read more

I went to Coeur d'Alene Vision Source because they are one of the only local optometrists that accept Spectera insurance. My eye exam went well, the Optometrist was fine. But, when I went to pick out frames is when my experience went downhill. I picked out regular glasses (Rayban Frames) and decided that I also wanted to get sunglasses. The gal who was helping me was brand new and kept needing assistance on how to write down the costs and what got billed to insurance. She was overseen by Hunter. They kept going back and forth on what should be charged where on the form - both of the handwritten pages ended up covered in whiteout. Frames are buy one, get one 50% off. They finally got to the total, which I paid $477.19 out of pocket. Hunter called two weeks later blaming the "new girl" for her error on the form and told me it would be another $90 that would need to be paid when picking up my glasses. I was then notified the first week of December my glasses were ready to for pick up and that I would need to pick them up immediately because their 30 day guarantee starts when they receive the glasses, not when they are picked up. I went in to pick up my glasses on December 16th. Hunter greeted me and said she'd go grab my glasses from the back. I waited a while, and another couple showed up, also waiting for their glasses. Ela, at the front desk, came in after break and asked if I needed something. I said I was waiting for my glasses. She then proceeded to help the couple behind me. When Ela came back, she had my glasses, and the couple behind me's glasses. She told me I had a balance, placed my glasses behind the desk and proceeded to help the couple behind me, even though I'd been waiting. She had them try on their glasses, made sure they fit good, and chatted with them, completely ignoring me. Finally when they were done, she again, told me I had a balance. I told Ela I wanted to see the math to ensure that it was actually correct this time - which is a fair ask - considering how much I had already paid. She started working through the math trying to figure out how they got to the total. Hunter comes back over and Ela tells her she is checking the math on the glasses order. Hunter says "if you want to waste your time with doing the math, go ahead." Hunter then turns to me and says "Well, our system told me what the amount was, and our system isn't wrong. That's what you owe." Excuse me? Waste HER time? With confirming I am paying the correct amount? Give me a break - I was not asking for a discount, I was asking to confirm the team had actually figured out how to add and subtract now. So I asked for an itemized receipt, which again doesn't show what was billed to insurance, what the "discounts" were, it just shows the total cost of each item. I paid the total amount, even though the math was NEVER shown, so I could just get my glasses and leave. Ela then turns to me and says "well, aren't you going to try on your glasses?" Which are the same glasses she had bagged up, that she was STILL guarding on her desk. They were never handed to me. I said "you still have them on your desk... do I need to grab them?" And she just stared at me. So I REACHED over her desk to grab the glasses and tried them on. She apologized saying she thought she had given them to me. She absolutely didn't think she gave them to me, she was going to guard those glasses until the bill was settled up. And, of course, they didn't fit right - so I asked for them to be adjusted. Which again, seemed like an inconvenience to the staff. The glasses still don't fit right, but honestly, I don't have the time, nor the patience to deal with incompetence AND bad attitudes after spending as much as I did. Which, by the way, I STILL believe their math is wrong. I will never be back. read more

They could start by always having an extra person in the room instead of just the male doctor and the patient me and my wife were in there the other day and I left to get a car wash which was a huge mistake and he was what I call fishing, and making insane Lude comments about men's penis size and women's bodies and how rockhard athletes bodies are and looking up pictures of skimpy, dressed, athletic women pointing it certain private parts. my wife text me and said I'm so uncomfortable. I can't wait to get out of here. He told me this and that and I sent her a message back saying lol in disbelief when I came back and finally picked her up, we were about two blocks away and said you really don't care that. He said this to me and I thought she was joking. I turned around went and confronted them on camera with admission they have camera and audio in the rooms. I doubt this is the first time that this is happened, we are pursuing a no contact order men like that are scary. Who knows how far they could go! The business should be shut down. Next step in action is suing for emotional distress. As the whole conversation went down when we finally went back inside, my wife was in tears as this did happen to her daughter before from a Doctor Who thought he could get away with saying whatever he wanted it's all recorded on camera. she was so upset and tears. I also was in tears because there was nothing that I could do at that moment and it was her idea to file the police report. This is a serious matter. Her taco giving me money is her way of justification. I was asking for an apology letter and ways to make it right before we fully pursue the situation even further. read more

This was the best experience I have had in Coeur d'Alene in 7 years. I have to have my eye tested every year due to medical. They were fast getting an appointment. When I arrived they got me right in no wait time. They have equipment that other eye places have not had. My glasses came in a week. They have many variety to choose from. I was even able to get contacts again, my last provider would not take the time to find ones that fit me. You will be happy with Coeur d'Alene vision. read more

I called on 1/2/24 and made appointments for my husband and I. We arrived at the appropriate time 1/15/24 and were told there were no appointments for us. This, after driving 25 miles in sub-zero weather. Shocking. I had even gone over my insurance with the woman who made the appointments. If the scheduling people can't schedule, how competent is the rest of the staff. I'd give Zero stars if I could. read more

According to the pictures, one would guess that they cater to the working class. Nothing could be further from the truth! First negative was a $39 charge for a special "camera" procedure insurance won't cover and they give you the impression it is necessary for a proper exam. Next.. when discussing glasses with the tech, I informed her I couldn't afford frames priced $250 up. She proceeded to grab a bunch of 70's government issue looking frames from the back room as their "budget" line at $150 plus. I was ready to walk out when she suggested I use my existing frames. Even with that concession, the lenses, nothing exotic or custom STILL ended up costing close to $600. Therefore, had I purchased frames as well, the bill would have topped $800! When the glasses arrived two weeks later, the vision was way off and there was a glaring ring around the rim of the lens. I complained and even the doctor reluctantly admitted they were faulty. Three weeks later for the corrected pair to arrive, the tech made a snarky comment that they had to use that particular lab because of my insurance, which only contributed $100 and the rest was CASH. read more

The worst eye exam I've ever received. The doctor rambled on about nothing eye related then spent about 2 minutes "assessing" my vision. He said my prescription barely changed and didn't ask me about how I felt my vision was. The technician Kourtney was amazing and did more and explained more than the doctor. Doctors Green and Hamlin are very thorough and offer the latest technology for examining your eyes. Dr. Hamlin is currently treating both of us for rare eye disorders and we have complete confidence in her. I can always depend on the office staff to help me select and fit my glasses. The shop has a 30 day return policy which I asked about prior to purchase, yet she became very indignant about the return, and told me to "be sure" of my decision next time. Ha! I had an ABSOLUTE great experience at Coeur d'Alene Vision Source. I had a very good eye doctor when I lived in another state, but once I moved to Idaho, I could not find one that I cared for. Every place I went to seemed "cheap" and a rushed experience. I saw CDA Vision Source while visiting my back doctor who is in the same building. I knew I was overdue for an eye exam- so I stopped in. The receptionists greeted me as I walked in the door, and they were extremely pleasant and friendly. I ended up scheduling with Doctor Green, and my exam was thorough and went off without a hitch. The best part of my experience was dealing with Iris. She is the Office Manager, but also helped me pick out my frames. I will be the first to admit that being a "middle aged" guy, I can be clueless on current "style, and in the past- I have made the "wrong" choices on frames. Iris was the FIRST person I have dealt with at a eye doctor who I honestly felt like took their time with me in picking the "right" frames. At no time did I feel rushed, and we tried on literally dozens and dozens of frames. We finally found a great pair and I LOVED them. I went home and told me wife about my experience and she too scheduled an exam, and subsequently ended of getting (3) pairs of glasses from CDA Vision Source and Iris. The BEST part was getting my 13 year old son in for for an exam and glasses. Being in Jr. High- he had NO desire to wear glasses, for fear of being made fun of at school. Iris again took her time with him, trying on frame after frame after frame- and they ended up making a GREAT choice together. The whole time Iris was encouraging him and reassuring how good he looked in the glasses. He was nervous and still dreading the arrival of the glasses. When they arrived the next week, Iris fit the frame to his face, and continued to reassure him. By the time we left the office- he was smiling and walked out with his head held high. The glasses look great, and so far he has had no issues at school. As you can see, I cannot say enough about how positive my experience with Coeur d'Alene Vision Source has been. read more

Concerned I may have suffered a partial retinal detachment due to a sudden cluster of spots in my visual field, I called around to local offices to ask to be seen. This office readily found room for me to be seen by Dr. Green, apparently making the extra effort to squeeze me in between previously scheduled patients. I really appreciated that, as I was a bit anxious about my symptoms. The staff at this office were very nice and the optical tech (Courtney, I believe) was the best: excellent at explaining everything and a wonderful personality while getting me through the preliminary examination part of my visit. Dr. Green was very self-possessed, articulate and explained what his findings were in a clear and quick fashion. I appreciated his explanation of my symptoms and suggestions for treatment. I had confidence that I was in good hands and under a practiced eye with Dr. Green. I ended up just having a lot of floaters, thankfully, and needed to get glasses, too. I selected my glasses at their office, as well. I highly recommend this doctor and this office to all who want to receive quality care from quality people. Truly a great experience.
