I use computer reading glasses. I used to use an optician in Coeur d'Alene which is much closer to my home. Unfortunately, they were unable to make a pair of glasses that did not have an issue with the lenses falling out of the frames. The Eye Care Team was recommended to me from my insurance web site. I have a frame that is "rimless" and the lenses have holes for screws. Michelle Brand told me on the phone to bring them in and I did so along with my prescription. Due to the need to drill holes in the lenses, the order was sent to a Seattle lab. Michelle mailed them to me once they arrived back in their Spokane office. So far, these glasses are working well for computer use and also for reading newspapers. I am thrilled and because they are rimless, the lenses can't fall out. read more

The staff were incredibly rude, especially the man running the glasses department. As soon as he found out I had state insurance and wouldn't be spending money out of pocket he was rude to me. I felt very uncomfortable. The woman at the front desk ignored me and talked to her coworker while I waited to be checked in. The doctors were fine. read more

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at the Eye Care Team, but for optical evaluation and for purchasing glasses. They went out of their way to clean and straighten my old glasses (before I purchased anything from them) and were very low pressure. I like that they have new technology that allows them to see the eye without dilation. That's good for a star. I genuinely like all of the optometrists- good for a other star. The prices and lack of selection on frames is frustrating. Also, I'm not a fan of the receptionists. I went to this place when the VA didn't have the space to see me. I made sure that my insurance would pay the cost of the glasses and the people at this place verified it would so I paid the difference only to be told well after they got the glasses in that my insurance wouldn't cover it and they refused to give my money back but they knew they wouldn't the day after I was there. I verified what date my insurance said no by contacting my insurance. I live on social security and VA compensation and couldn't pay the balance of over $400. Theives... stay far away from them. They KNEW BEFORE the glasses were even made. read more

The eye care team is fabulous!!! I'm almost 50 and needed an eye exam and glasses for the first time ever!!! Everyone at the eye care team was professional and kind. Dr Evans and the team were awesome! It was a pretty fast exam and was able to get my lenses and frames right after the eye appointment. I just picked up my glasses and I'm so excited that I can read and do computer work without having to hunt for my dollar store cheaters!!! They are very helpful here. They greet you as you enter and try to find the reason for the visit. They have a great selection of sun glasses from, Ray ban, Chloe, and so on. They also can give you an eye exam and known your prescription and pick out a pair of glasses that are suited for you. They also have bogo deals which are always good especially if you have different eyes that require different purposes or just different style to change it. Great service and supply. read more

I was visiting Spokane from Texas when a tiny screw popped out of my glasses frame, so in desperation, I walked into The Eye Care Team's office, and they began fixing it almost immediately. After replacing the screw and polishing the lenses, my glasses haven't looked so good since they were brand new. On top of that, the staff would not accept any payment for their excellent work. I would not recommend this place to my fellow Providence employees. An employee at the store took my money, but did not place my order. By the time the store caught up with this error, it had already been 10 days. I had to go in and re-order glasses. They also said that they would put a rush on the order but it took 10 days. They promised that my refund would be available when I picked up my glasses, but it was not.She said she mailed it. But I still have not received the refund which has over $100. It seems ironic, that I also put an online order at Zenni for sunglasses, and they came in five days. The eye c obviously sends out their orders to an outside lab. I also saw the exact same frames at Walmart. Next time I think I will use Spokane Eye clinic. And they would not give my husband his Pupil distance and said information was proprietary. read more

I went for an exam here and their results is far different from my previous exam. I went ahead and ordered new glasses and they did not work at all. I could not read anything and felt like I was walking on stilts. I immediately took them off and went back to my previous glasses. I went back in and they suggested I need to buy separate computer glasses and offered to re-do the exam. Instead, I went to another eye clinic paying for a new exam where he came up with a prescription that worked and only slightly different from my previous. read more

First my eye exam was great and I enjoyed my doctor. Everything went smoothly on that front. However once I selected glasses and paid I was told they would be read in 7-10 business days and if there were any issues they would call me. Again this all was fine and I waited. After 8 business days I called for an update. They told be they would be in soon and just to wait. At 11 business days I called back and someone said they would look into it for me. Again they said they called the Lab and they would be in soon. I called back two days later and found out that the frames I requested and paid for were back ordered for over a month and I would not be getting my glasses any time soon. I asked why know one told me this when I called the past few times and they said they weren't sure but it appeared that they NEVER CHECKED on them even though they said they had. I was upset and said I just wanted to pick new frames because I have headaches because of my vision. I went in and picked new ones. I was calm and polite until I asked if they could expedite them for me and Mikale asked why I was in such a rush to get them. "Are you traveling or something? Is is that important". I was pissed. I just wanted my glasses as promised and he's acting like it was no big deal. He then primed that my new frames would be ready no later than the following Monday. They offered me a 20% discount on my frames and off I went again. I waited till the following Monday which is today and and they are still not ready because the lenses didn't pass inspection. Now I have to wait another week. Again no one called me to tell me this and they said they would have someone call me back today to explain what my options are but no one called. I'm Furious and will not be going back here. I hope I can get a refund and that they can credit back my insurance so I can go somewhere else. I would have been much more understanding if they would just communicate things better. Sad because their doctors are so nice. Update: I went to go pick up my glasses today and they had order the wrong frames. After all this they ordered the wrong dang frames and I have to go back AGAIN to get the ones I actually ordered. Had eye exam and was told I had two prescriptions. One for driving, one for reading. We chose only driving as that is most needed, can still read relatively ok. After two and a half weeks waiting on my driving glasses, I go in for fitting. Guess what? Wrong prescription. The incompetence is staggering. read more

I recently had an eye appointment with Dr. Kellogg. I have had glasses/contact for the past 30+ years and I've had many optometrists over the years. I very much enjoyed the office, staff and the care from Dr. Kellogg. Everyone was professional, friendly and welcoming. I was seen by Dr. Kellogg just minutes after I got there. He was very complete in his exam and I could tell that he loves his job and working with people. Based on my experiences, I think he would be great with kids and the elderly too. The downtown location is perfect for me and I would recommend street parking instead of parking in the lot and paying 5 dollars to Diamond parking. read more

Financially unable to take a vacation in nearly 20 years (not even a two day weekend away), I decided I was looooong overdue and applied for a passport. Per the State Department, a birth certificate or photo ID lets you enter Canada, but you MUST have a passport, passport book, or enhanced driver's license to re-enter the States They wanted a license, my state ID wasn't proof enough as an ID. Extremely low vision (cataracts), I informed them I couldn't possibly qualify for a license, their gold standard. (For the written test, I'd have to use my lighted magnifier, hold my eye an inch or less above it to see/read the questions, and from there try to answer appropriately. A road test? A total non-starter. The agent and I went round and round until 7/7 when her supervisor required a doctor's note, signed, on letterhead, documenting my visual acuity. My regular doctor was away until 7/19, so I got the very next appointment I could on 7/10 with Dr. Evans at the Eye Care Team. He did the exam, said he would write the letter and fax it in the next day. I left to continue prepping and await my passport for which I had paid a $60 "rush" fee. On 7/21, I began to call about the passport's non-arrival, but first dialed ECT for a copy of the letter for my files. Turns out he never wrote it until 7/24; when I got my copy. Dr. Evans' major, overriding focus: My past history, my treatment choices, his professional treatment recommen-dations. It was not at all a business letter. Actually, it was a consult letter fit for another *medical provider*. I should know, in another life I transcribed literally hundreds of them. Now, for two freakin' weeks, it was not Dr. Evans sweating the passport's arrival, missing events, struggling over reservations. It. Was. Me. This is a "team" I will never join again. A month to make an appointment and then the business day before the appointment the business tells me even though my insurance carrier is listed it really isn't part of their network. Darn - would have been nice to have glasses for a month and then now until I get a different appointment with Rockwood - (they'll see me in 4 days - not a month). Grumpy staff too - not very customer service oriented. I moved here from Seattle - I'm used to better quality customer service. Would not recommend Dr. Kellog. read more

Dr. Kellogg completely neglected to treat or even mention a cataract that my sister had. Upon getting the vision checked elsewhere, it was learned that she was completely blind in that eye and that the cataract had been present for a number of years. Perhaps he didn't find it worth mentioning because she is developmentally disabled and wasn't able to express it herself. read more

The doctor was good, but some parts of the business were off. They told me my insurance was good, and then during billing said they didn't carry it. So I got stuck with full bill. The billing team sent me one invoice 4 months later and said sent a memo with it saying they'd send me to collections. First time I had ever seen the bill, after calling in two months before and they said not to worry that I hadn't seen a bill. The lack of communication brings this down a few stars and the lack of providing insurance update brought it down another. Good doctor though. read more

Dr. Kellog was very professional with the first disabled client I brought in. The next disabled client I brought in has anxiety and refused to go to the exam room. They happily rescheduled but I later found out it was considered a no call no show. He missed his next appointment completely and the receptionist said if he misses on more, they would refuse to schedule. This is all understandable and the receptionist was professional, however, not cordial in the least. She didn't say please or thank you and over the phone, she sounded like a principal reprimanding a student (a stark contrast from our first visit). I would not recommend this place to our fanyone who has behaviorally difficult disabled family or clients. read more
