As a proud military family, I feel it's important to share our experience so others can plan…read moreaccordingly. First and foremost, Spooky Woods only honors military discounts for active duty members, not their families. If your spouse is deployed or TDY, you cannot use your dependent ID to claim the advertised BOGO tickets. Additionally, the attraction does not recognize Gold Star families, which was especially disheartening after my friend--who lost her loved one in active duty--was also turned away. I strongly encourage management to reconsider this policy, as these families have made profound sacrifices and deserve recognition. We attended on opening night and waited approximately three hours in line. While some wait time is expected, better organization could greatly improve the experience. There were fun moments--music, light interaction, and themed characters--but compared to a competitor we visited the night before (which featured a full fall festival and concert guests could enjoy while waiting), the overall setup here felt less engaging and far less efficient. There was also a bar halfway through the line, but guests were not informed during ticketing that a green wristband was required to purchase drinks. After standing in line for hours, many people were understandably frustrated when they discovered this too late. Clearer communication would easily fix this issue. The "Bates Motel" and "Camp Crystal Lake" sets were the standout features in terms of design and atmosphere. However, the actor performances lacked coordination and consistency--several repeated the same handful of lines, and some of the scariest characters weren't even in their designated themed areas. One performer in particular, a female clown with black and white hair, blew an air horn directly into my mother's and my ears at close range, causing immediate ringing and a migraine that lingered for hours. That kind of proximity-based scare tactic poses legitimate safety concerns and should be addressed immediately. Furthermore, the terrain was uneven and poorly lit, with unexpected drops and steps that posed a hazard, especially for elderly guests. Adding proper signage, lighting, or a simple warning at the entrance would help prevent potential injuries. Overall, while there were moments of entertainment and strong visual effects, the experience did not align with the ticket price or expectations.

We came to Woods of Terror for their annual Krampus event. They had a 25% off fast pass discount…read morefor Black Friday that brought the price down to the same price as a regular ticket. Unfortunately, this did mean that a LOT of people had fast passes and the wait for the normal line was longer than usual as was the fast pass lane. When we arrived, we had to pay $20 CASH for parking. In previous years, they accepted cashapp so we did not have cash and were directed to the ATM on site (so $20 turned into $30 quickly). We should've read the website better but I wish the tickets/email to us stressed the cash only portion in bold and all caps and made it clear that payment apps were no longer accepted. The lady collecting parking cash was very nice and helped guide us, but another attendant treated us so horribly and verbally attacked us that we had to ask to speak to a manager (something we really only do to compliment people who are good at their jobs). The security supervisor assuaged our concerns very well (Caleb) and completely turned our experience around. The scare actors at this location are very interactive and there are plenty of photo ops before you go into the houses which do not allow photos. The houses were the same as the normal Halloween houses with a nice twist of snow and Christmas decorations and Christmas themed movies like the Nightmare Before Christmas. The scared are great but really it's the sets that are unbeatable. It was a nice touch that they had fire pits between houses where people could stop and get warm on a very cold (freezing) night and take a breather. Overall; would highly recommend, but the line and parking should be better organized as well as notifications of cash only parking.

We went on a Saturday night which tends to be their busiest. My biggest piece of advice if you have…read moreto be home by a certain time, upgrade to fast pass. The entire walk through all the haunted houses will take about an hour and half in addition to any wait time to get in. We did general admission and waited 2 hours till we got our text to get in line. We got in the virtual line around 8pm. I will say the person I believe is the owner, the one with the red Mohawk, is super sweet and saw us waiting around and cleared us to enter early. We got our text to get in line 10 minutes later, but we truly appreciated the gesture to get us in line earlier. Also don't forget to scan to get in line bc I talked to too many people that had completely forgot. The houses are absolutely amazing and so incredibly well done. The attention to detail is crazy. Plenty of jump scares, but overall I did way better than I expected. Be prepared though to walk what felt like a mile or more. Also the fact there were so many different options to go through made the experience even greater. One character scared someone that she fell on the ground but the character then helped her up which was sweet. The security and staff in general through the whole experience were sweet and you knew they enjoyed what they did. I think at first I thought the tickets seemed expensive, but after going through the experience, the price was truly worth every penny. I would definitely bring my friends here in the future.

You could tell how much work they put into the haunted house and I thought it was definitely scary and worth the price. The blindfold at the beginning was definitely freaky! Great work everyone, thanks for putting it on! The one thing that was kind of annoying was paying the $5 for parking. But I'm sure the property makes you charge everyone.

It's dark and pretty dangerous before you even get there. The wait was long- over 2 hours. The line actors were entertaining, but doesn't make the wait any better. We were in a group of four that started out just fine, and then a few minutes in we easily caught up to another group of four who thought it was a tourist destination, stopping and pointing to everything. We should have asked to go around them, but at some point, one of the actors should have done something to distance everyone. It got so clogged that there ended up being 20 people waiting behind this group to go through it. They tripped all the scares and animatronics, so there were no jumps for us. I think they were family members of one of the actors inside. Many of the rooms were just scenes with nothing going on. They definitely need more actors spaced throughout. Pretty bad for spending so long waiting.
