I had the cheese bread, which is incredible. (It's so difficult to choose between the cheese bread and the pretzel.) I tried the wrath burger. It was good and would have been even better if I had gone with the egg sunny side up instead of fries. The fries are out of this world. I'd make the hour drive just for them.

There is no 'meat taste' at all so get in here and give these a try. I had a feeling I would love it and I did. It's a large yet cozy venue with the number 5 featured prominently in assorted art as well as on the tables. The building is historic, lots of wood, brick and brass railings plus a stunning Victorian bar back. We ate at the bar which was very comfortable. Little sliding wooden trays to make it convenient for eating, then just move them out of the way when you're done. They have 10 or so craft beers on tap and a full bar. We had the opportunity to sample a couple brews and we both enjoyed our beer choices and the food. Prices were fair, and tax is included in the menu price. I really want to shout out our bartender/server. Didn't get her name but she had round glasses with eyeglass chain attached and was on the shorter side. She was very customer focused, answering all our first-timer questions, attentive, appropriately conversational, and definitely on the ball as she was handling tables too. Top notch service. About those railings: unless there's a special back entrance, the venue may not be wheelchair accessible. There are two or three steps at the entrance, and if you want the bar instead of booth or table, another three or four. Both have sturdy solid handrails. I do not fault them for this; probably the historic building is exempt, but just wanted to note it for anyone needing that info. All in all a five star experience and I hope to return soon.

I was in Rush County in my quest to spend some time in each of the 92 counties in Indiana and "get…read morea feel for" the respective communities. Part of that is to take a look at the county courthouse, their library system, and any notable natural spaces in the area. I also do some research on the restaurants, coffeeshops, bakeries or other signature spots that might be in the area. One such spot was Fish Moon Brewing. First off - great name. It's fun, quirky, and they used the moon motif throughout their space (pun intended). As for the restaurant itself, this is my kind of place. Open, with subdued lighting, and just enough of the moon paraphernalia to keep you interested without being overwhelming. It reminded me of a German beer hall - in a good way. I opted for the Portobello mushroom & Swiss burger, which had a rich flavor, and I didn't miss a bite. It was served up with their pub chips, which were just perfect. I had a wonderful beer, too, which was a twin berry and just the right blend of flavor. What's more, it worked well for the hot afternoon. I was a little confused about the beer selection, however. When I asked about what beers they offered, my server just listed them off. I generally like having an opportunity to take a look at a list and see if there is something I haven't tried before, especially when visiting for the first time. That would be my only critique: to have a current list of your beers and maybe a little description. All told, this is a gem for Rushville and it's placed in a great location. Highly recommended.

The place was fairly busy, and the musician was setting up. We were seated at the bar because we were hungry and thought, in error apparently, that the service would be quicker. The Fish Moon beer was pretty good so we both got a glass of a lager type beer. The appetizer (poppers) were served fairly quickly and I thought they would good ... not too hot/spicy. Our order was a burger and catfish sandwich with onion rings. It was a really really long wait to get our food... we had been there for 90 minutes before the entree was delivered. Our bar seats were at the end of the bar... every time someone walked in or out of the kitchen (30 feet behind us) or anywhere near the bar the floor shook like there were elephants passing by.... it was unnerving. One nice thing was that the music was pretty good. However, given the lack of good service and mediocre food, my SO will never go back.

However, last night, we ordered a large pizza with cheesy strips... and it was a disaster. The pizza was so thin it was like paper. The cheesy strips couldn't be eaten because they were way overcooked. I called in and asked for it to be remade. The woman who answered was super nice and said of course and that they were trying out a new crust for their pizzas and they thanked me for the feedback. She said it would be about 25 mins for it to be remade. No big deal. But when I went to get the "new" order, it was the exact same. It was almost 9pm and I didn't feel like complaining again. So all of it got pitched. $32 down the drain... I don't know if they changed the cooking time for their items or if they're trying out all new foods.... But we unfortunately won't be back unless it changes back to how it was.

That right there told me they don't mind being different in the style of food they serve! After checking over the menu full of wraps and burgers amongst a plethora of other bar food I ended up getting some wings to try and the house made chips. I got half my wings in the BBQ flavor and the other Buffalo. Being honest the wings weren't anything special but they did hit the spot and the BBQ sauce wasn't anything special to me on the wings but if it was used in some pulled pork or ribs I believe I would enjoy it more. The buffalo sauce was really good and had just enough heat to need the ranch here and there. The house made chips were good, not overly seasoned and not over cooked either. The place is small but has a handful of high top round tables and a few bigger square tables in the front with a decent bar strip with plenty of bottles and beers on tap. The pool table in the side room looked like a great area to hang around and play some pool while enjoying some beers with the company of friends. Next time I'm in town I will try one of their countless burger options!
