The spinal injury left me with a weak leg and I was unable to walk. After three hours of physical therapy and occupational therapy per day for two weeks, I was able to walk with a walker and I'm now at home. (To the cat's great relief.) Following the surgery I was not allowed to bend or twist my back or to lean. The physical and occupational therapists helped me understand what I was capable of and taught me new ways to perform daily tasks using devices such as a reacher to pick things up and a tool to put socks on. Handed him a paper. (He is 10) Hooked him up to a TENS unit for 5 minutes, sent him on his way. 2nd session. Spent less than 5 minutes with my son using resistance bands, hooked him up to a TENS unit, sent him on his way. No review of exercises, no instructions for those exercises. What we witnessed going on around us was even more shocking. There were exactly TWO technicians trying to service at least a dozen people. Most people were sitting quietly hooked up to a machine. There was one client doing some sort of OT, hand stretching BY HERSELF, as the technician shouted at her from across the room. I witnessed 2 people receiving dry needling THROUGH THEIR CLOTHES. No sanitizing the area like any prudent person would before a shot, no gown, just jabbing it through the jeans, shorts, t-shirts or whatever the clients happened to be wearing. Seriously. Don't waste your time or money here. I'm flabbergasted that this place can reasonably call itself rehab and remain licensed.

Given the relatively low price (compared to massage or private acupuncture - I had to give it a try. The treatment itself (applying the pins) doesn't hurt at all. And what I absolutely love is the relaxing environment - plush, huge leather recliners; dim lighting; soft music; and a feeling of safety and wellness. I worked right by here and would come over lunch. It was heaven. Unfortunately, it didn't help and the office moved downtown. I don't really live by this or the other location so I stopped treatment. Skip forward - after an MRI gave me the real diagnosis (hamstring) - and too much yoga (if there is such a thing) has kicked my pain into high gear, I decided to start up treatment again - if nothing else as part of my self care. Well-being treatment. The technician I see at this location is the same. But now I also visit the other location - depending on what is available on the schedule.
